sounds like u read to much TAT news,u should not forget that about 10 chinese spend as much money as one American or European per day,and families?They eat in the hotels they drink at the hotels and go to sleep by 11pm,so where the money will come from from when in a couple of months the heavy drinkers and sextourists are changing their holiday destination?

The majority of tourists don't follow Thai news like we do. It will take a couple of years to see the effects of these closing times, after which a couple of seasons worth of tourists will be resentfull at having been sent home early like children when on holiday... word will spread, tourists go elsewhere. Mark my words.

Sorry I don't think thats right (but I only know about Pattaya) when the closing time changed from 3am to 2am I didn't see a reduction of tourists.

Over the last couple of years there have been more and more people coming here, the Chinese in similar numbers. single males in similar numbers, but I have noticed a massive increase in the number of couples and families

Toxin want to clean up the image of Pattaya, I don't think he's done that, but he (TAT) has certainly sold it as a family resort

And if you have the kids with you on holiday they aren't arsed about closing times

Personally I would like to see 3am closing again as I would rather go out at night when its cooler and sleep in till lunch time

Hi Explorer,yes it is a bit far,but i have a Malaysian friend in Kl,she doesnt know Penang as well,so we just stay ther a couple of nights and then i fly bak to Bkk and she to Kl,anyways thank all for u help

Hi,does anyone know an affordable hotel in Penang,it doesnt need to be near the Thai embassy,because i get my visa in KL,and does anyone know if the immigration at bkk airport wants to see 20000baht{im NonO holder}and if so,is there anATM before the immigration?Thanks for any help

when i went bkk immigration to extend my non o visa they told me they dont believe me that i stay with my daughter and take care her,i said"ok why not check with my neighbors"they said "it is not their business'so they made me to get "BEIRAP RONGBOOD"[im not sure i spelled it right]thats is a fatherhood declaration, took me 4 months u need to take a lawyer if they ask u to get that paper too,cost all together inc.interpreter about 14000baht,be sure u go early enough to extend,i was late and had to fly to Kl to get a new visa and of course they gave me only 3months non o,because im a big liar and bad farang who doesnt take his daughter,ok good luck

here we go again,why u guys have to compare immigation or visa laws from Europe or the US,with the laws of a Country like Thailand,sorry to say that but Thailand is not a "1class" country,and i guess 95% of the foreigners what live here or come here dont want to work here at all,and if they do u can be sure that the business who hired them dont want to have a Thai at all,so that means if the foreigner doesnt get that job,the Thai also won't get it,and the Thai government knows that very well.The Thai government always blamed foreigners if something was wrong in Thailand,very easy to do so,most of the uneducated(thanks to the government]population agress with that,or did u ever hear a Thai saying"Sorry it was my fault"?Also,i read that phrase"if u dont like it go home"wow,for example, i gave up everything in Germany i have a small daughter here and a girlfriend,i bought a house pickup,Hondas whatever more,my gf doesnt want to go to europe at all{lucky me}and i just cant afford to live in Europe again,i invested my savings in Thailand and have my pension 55000baht,and im not married im not 50yet,so u really mean i should go home?Or just shut up let them do with me whatever they want?

ok,sorry maybe i was to rough,i know here is amazing thailand,but my point was that if anybody has the propper papers,then it should doesnt matter how they look like,for my taste the immigration in Thailand has their own laws,if the officer doesnt like ur face or whatever theh u have a problem,and i think that is not ok,coming back to the ATM cards,my point is that this forum is for non thais who need informations about Thailand or wants to discuss things about thailand,and it is not a forum for guys who want to show their personal wealth,a bit more objectivity would be great,am i wrong about this?

i said that before somewhere here,i guess some of the members here a bit to long in Thailand,i also dont like backpackers to much,but in normal countrys nobody cares how u look like,they have laws,if u have the right papers then their is no right to refuse u entry in Thailand,if the law says different fine,but here are wishwashi laws what leaves for the immigration officer to much room for .....,i came to this forum to get useful information about new regulations or laws and i dont want to know how many ATM cards somebody has,that reminds of the Pattaya guys who had to many beers and want to show how good and rich they are so they can impress the barladies.Anyways this new regulation will hurt Thailand,if somebody who is working here with out the propper papers,he will get 10000 baht easyly somewhere,it is a bad law for the the guys who have family here living from 60000 or 65000baht a month,maybe just bought a house or car or whatever,and it is dangerous,i just think of a bus full of foreigners all loaded with 10000+ or 20000+ ,and everybody knows about that,it just shows me again how much disrespect the government has of foreigners and that they dont care at all about foreigners,sorry for my English but it is not my motherlanguage

i think most of the guys here are staying to long in Thailand already,or why u say it is ok what the immigration is doing?the reason why Schengenstates check people from poorer countrys is very easy,most of those people like to overstay their visa,or work in europe,or dont go back at all to their home countrys.Most of the Schengen europeans come here and live here with the money the brought from europe,pension savings,or whatever,and almost nobody wants to work here,and almost everybody is respecting the laws here in Thailand,so it is absolutly stupid to compare visa regulation from europe with the regulations from Thailand.IT is ok to check some foreigners who are staying here with 30day visa since x years,but it is not ok to give that treatment to all foreigner.also european embassys are working with clear defined law and orders,not like Thailand where their leave always something open,

to dr.pat pong,no he cannot get an extension with the papers u said,i tried the same thing,and the immigration in Bkk told me that i need "bei rap rong bood"thats a paper what says that i guarantee for my child,im still working on it,i had to take a lawyer,oct.6th i have a date at the family court and nov.19th a date at province court

just a question,what about the foreigners who have children here and dont get extension from the immigration because of whatever reason?they iimmigration will denie me the right to see my daughter if i dont carry around 40000baht in my pocket?i think this is probably against the law,not only agains the law in Europe or USA ut also against thai law.Im pretty sure i will not walk around with 40000baht in my pocket at Aranyapratet and wait that somebody will cut of my head for it,i think it is time that Thailand is changing atitudes,and i think it is time that foreigner should leave thailand for a while.I wonder how many businesses will crash if only 50% of foreigners who stay here permanent will go to Manila or other places.I understand the new law if it is only for tourist visa holders,i think it is ok if they show how they survive here,but Non"o" or Non "B" holders had their check up already when replying for the visa

by the way,isnt there a law here in Thailand that i have the right to be with my daughter,and that thailand should make it very easy for me instead of giving me problems?I mean i spent about 15000baht for airticket to kl,hotel,visa and stuff,now i paid 15000for the lawyer another 1000 for family court and probably another 1000for the court house in where i get the paper +translator,i would rather spend that money for my famyly,or whatever

I dont know,but i think here in this forum are so many guys who are staying in Thailand a long time and probably speak thai very well,why not just call the Ministry of foreign affairs and ask about these new regulations,i think better than guessing and suggest,or even better to go there if stay in bkk

Im father of a thai citizen[my daughter]I live together with her and her mother,last year i got in Germany a Non"O' multiple1yr Visa,expire date August29th.in June I went to the Immigration in Bkk and wanted to extend the Visa,having birthcerificate{im the father]house papers,certificate from german embassy about my pension from Germany{52000baht}.But they refused to give me an extension,because I have no proof that i take care my daughter or stay with her,they told me I need a paper from the courthouse what shows i take care her and live with her,name of the paper is :Bei Rap Rong Bood,took me a while to find out how to get this paper,my visa expired,and i went Kl,to get a new one,but they gave me only a Non"O"single 3m visa.At november 18th i have the date for the court house,and it looks like I will get that paper what the immigrations wants{beiRapRongBood}my 3months visa expires on November 24th,now my questions:Does the immigration also extends 3months visas,if yes for how long they extend it,and how long they need to extend it?would it be maybe smarter to go out again and try to get 1year visa with this new paper and then extend after 3months?Thanks for any help in advance

ImGerman41yrs,get Pension 52000baht certified by German embassy,I have a daughter together with my Thai girlfriend,we stay together,our daughter is born In Thailand,Im in the birthcertificate and in the housepapers.

Last month I went to the Immigration in Bkk to extend my 1year multiNon"O"Visa,issued in Berlin,and given to me because I have a daughter who is Thaicitizen.But they told me they cant give me an extension,I need 1 paper"BeiRapRongBood"I can get that at the District office where I stay at,so I went there but of coursr they didnt give it to me,they said my daughter is to young{2.5yrs},they told me i can get that paper at the ChonburiCourthouse,

after that i tried to get some information about it,and got alot but not very helpful

1.I need a lawier costs10000-50000baht2.i need a translation of my Passport into Thai,certified by the German embassy,seen and stamped by the Ministry of foreign affairs3.I need nothing just go there4.The name is not BeiRapRongBood,but PorKor14 and it is very easy to get5. I don't remember

What is BeiRapPongBood,how to get it,where to get it,how much does it cost,how long does it take to get it?For any useful help thanks in advance
