I've played golf for some 50 years. In my prime I had a handicap of 5 or less and yet no hole in one. Indeed, I have only been, what I would call "close", on a couple of occasions. Alas, there never will be an ace for me as my hands and wrists don't allow me to play anymore. 'Tis a cruel world . . . .

The OP would now be the third American that I have heard of wanting to attend a funeral back in the States. The other two I knew personally. They too were hoping for a "quick return". It was not to be and they were both travel and Thailand savvy. FAR too many hoops to jump through as noted above and WAY too much money to spend and it certainly was NOT going to be a quick return no matter what they did. They both opted not to even try.
It's a shame but I would not even try either . . .

I've been saying for years in addition to these so called pusher boats that they ought to line the banks of the river with the unemployed and school children and hand out canoe paddles and tennis rackets and such and get them to help to move the water down stream.

I have known three people (not in Thailand) who fall under the category of DVBCC. All three have said " you don't want this". One had a bit of an easier time, the other two were bad sick. Even a couple of months later they still have effects of the virus pop up on them.
You know what a mild case is not a days in hospital talk? It's when you don't need to go to the hospital. Really . . .
You can have a temp of 104 and the trots and the bed sheets are wet for days, brain fog, etc., and that is now considered a mild case.

I'm not so sure they are talking about "hotels" per se as they are the so called "party houses" where 20 people come in for the weekend and make a ton of noise and leave. There are a bunch of those such places in HH.

There is a fellow who is a friend of mine (played golf, drink some beer) whom when he comes into the bar that we both go to from time to time I at that time get up and check bin. He watches Fox news all the time so guess what he is going to want to talk about as soon as he walks in? Others have asked him to give it a rest as well but he ain't having it. I'm not interested in that <deleted> but it seems to be the only thing on his mind. Shame that . . . .

Good Gosh - have someone stick it into a padded envelope and send it USPS registered mail. It's not expensive at all. Sorted.

If she goes back to Thailand (and she will) and the boys go with her (and they will) you will indeed be very lucky if you see them again. Certainly not anything like on a regular basis unless you are also in Thailand and even that would be doubtful.
Good luck . . .

Your UK will won't carry a lot of weight here in Thailand. Have a will drawn up here in Thailand (in Thai language and translated in English of course) that concerns itself with only your money that is deposited here in Thailand.

Is any other country in the world chasing a nasal spray type of vaccine? I'm unaware of it if so. Pills are possibility and there are labs looking into that end. Nasal spay seems a bit out there.

I doubt than anyone of the drinkers would stay due to the uncomfortable seating. That white chair in the photo was designed by the Spanish Inquisition.
You are a sharp lookout and Amen! to your observation . . .

My understanding of this, and I've asked around a bit, is that this is a reflection and an exaggeration of how
Thai people mostly see the northern hill tribes. They are often of a darker complexion so the Thai people have gone
over top to portray them as black.

It a Thai general that is making this claim. Let's wait and see what the American embassy has to say.

I'm still a fan of bottle UNLESS I'm carrying them! Screw that - cans are just fine. Isn't there a joke that goes "that's what wife's are for?".

The embassies are NOT going to get into the business of certifying insurance documents issued in a home country.

yeah yeah yeah - Kinda like the cloud seeding which is only done when it looks like it is going to rain and then when it does rain it's because of cloud seeding and not because it was going to rain anyway.
CNN report on substandard gloves from Thailand may have been provided by duped American
in Thailand News
Posted
^^ Aye The point being for CNN is that the gloves were substandard (or worse) but marketed and sold as a top grade product, there were a LOT of them, and they came from Thailand. I'm also pretty sure that CNN would have verified the entire story with probably multiple sources.
