QUOTE : He concluded that the farmers needed to help themselves during drought, as the government cannot provide help to everyone.
So much for the Sufficiency Economy. So much lauded by the self imposed unelected Supreme Ruler at the UN.
Farmers, your on you own, officially.
Oh, and if you want water in the future, build your own reservoirs.
You could always think about why the water levels in the dams are so low.
One reason of course is the drought but another reason was the water levels were deliberately lowered by the Agriculture minister during the last elected government AGAINST all the advice given,
How long do you think it takes to build a dam or a reservoir and fill it? Anywhere from 5 to 10 years after a decision is taken. The will be the EIA and surveys to be completed, land to be bought, people, animals, communities to move and that it before a single dig is started. It takes immense amounts of materials to actually construct a dam and perhaps years to fill it completely.
Now for farmers to get a reservoir for next year the dams should have been started years ago, but the previous "elected" governments didn't do ANYTHING while they were in power.
You seem to find fault with everything this government does without thinking why it has to be done and why it wasn't done before.
The King has been talking about a Sufficiency Economy for decades but politicians never listened and neither do you.
This graph shows a different story for water management?

"Come on, even those of you that approve of this government have to admit the General is making a prize tit of himself. Dear oh dear"...Baboon
It should have done many governments ago----he is a convicted criminal on the run. Instead his Sister sent him 40 million US$, from the Thai taxpayers to help him along. ($40 million in frozen assets released under Yingluck) http://www.forbes.com/lists/2011/85/thailand-billionaires-11_Thaksin-Shinawatra-family_54T2.html
But the usual posters will joke about this guy doing something ---
no one else in any other Government's would do......................
It may be a good idea to reread the link you provided slowly .

So Marc Marquez wins again! ,another 2nd for Dovi and Vale third...........But you know the most enjoyable racing over the weekend was watching Chaz Davies winning his first WSBK race. I watched this guy at Buri Ram and he made a few errors in the two races but got back on and finished both races. His riding style is fluid and fast ,was my impression anyway.

Didn't the price rise due to some new inventive tax?
Smart Thais knowing in advance (compared to us dump farangs) emptied the shelfs?
Reminds me of the big alcohol tax rise (was it in 2013?).
Shelfs at Tesco empty for weeks!
Yes the price has risen !.....I went to Tesco yesterday and the carton price has risen by 74 baht. ..... I thought it was just the normal mark up leading toward Song khram.?

Think of the free noodle soup as reward for not going down the corruption path and bribing the police officer. If that is her daughter helping to serve the noodles, I hope she never has an accident from one of those traffic violators.
Then we will see how sorry she is for them.
I know it's a marketing stunt, but she could have find a better reason to give away her free noodles.

Well they must have fixed it! ,, It went off that time.I have read about repairing the launcher many times in newspapers and periodicals, but I have never read about people attempting to repair the grenade itself.
Um, am I missing something? It misfired, and they wanted to repair it? Whoever got that duty must have fallen from grace.
Amazing Thailand...

The time does not match the crime.
This is only for the LM part which is only a holding charge (conviction) till the rest can be brought to court.
Robby ..........you should try to read a little better. There were three convictions, Lese Majeste . operation an illegal gambling den and Malfeasance.

So after six years or (maybe 12 months) they return to their normal routine and keep most of the money they had acquired? Or has the money already been re distributed?

Iam on a whisky diet! Lost four months this year already."Prayut said he would spare Yingluck because he had always held her in high regard as the country's former prime minister, adding that if she wanted to travel out of the country, he would let the court decide."
How can you have fair trails if the Junta leader has total and unquestionable control over the judiciary ? The statements from the Russel ring true every time the good general opens his mouth.
To the lovers all things junta, please explain how attacking those with a critical and opposing views, and the junta's absolute control over the courts is going to turn Thailand into anything that resembles a free and educated Asian society ? Examples being Taiwan or Japan.
to answer your question - just go back to the first 5 months of this year to understand why we are here
You say the junta has unquestionable control over the judiciary - really ? based on what evidence, claims and factual statements (as you worded it) like that could get you locked up
Nobody is under any illusion that if Martial law wishes it - YL will not be allowed to take a dump unless she gets approval, the PM is simply stating ML and the NCPO will not be involved

This thread is about some poor chap that is dead. NOT about the spelling of one word. WAKE UP. Condolences to his friends and family. Not trying to be pedantic but, after 30 years, you probably know that the Cambodian language is Khmer rather than Khmen (which seems to be a fictional language labeled by local Thais who cannot pronounce their "R's").
I believe that "Poot Khmen dai" should really be "Poot Khmer dai"
Wrong. You are transfixing an English word onto a different language. What we call the language in English has no bearing on what it is called in a different language.
It`s no different than French people calling English "Anglais."
Unfortunately not Tully.
It is the general Thai inability to pronounce R's and 'L's' at the end ie it is why we get Aresenon and Footbon - solely because the Thais can't get to grips with the word. Khmerrrrrrr is the same.
Ironically, in Buriram province they are better at pronouncing R's - my missus can roll her R's perfectly............... (as in Khmerrrrr!)
Cambodian translates as Khmer (there is no such word Khmen) but it is spoken as Khmen for the reasons pointed out by 'youravinalaff' who is a local cunning linguist.

...one has to wonder if the elephants are not being neglected.....
...or their habitats being impinged upon......
It is in a National Park and the elephant is not a pet. But it is possible it's habitat is being impinged,

"...any activities which are deemed a threat to democratic rule or administration." I would like to see the court stop a coup, which is the main "activity" threatening democratic rule.
Will not happen ! But maybe next this present government will change it's name to ....The Democratic Rule Party.
