  1. Awesome. I shall be in touch.

Also I saw on YouTube some older vid about sumit at the Honda rider training center. Is there some affiliation? Only asking cause I need to do the next available license course

We have brought groups of customers there for training in the past. We haven't been doing many activities this year, but plan to do more next year. I'll let you know as soon as I have more info about the next one. Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words, Apetley. It was nice seeing you again. If anyone is interested, I am at the shop from 10-4 most days. I am off on Sundays and Tuesdays.

    Mr Sumet

  4. Thanks, Dave. The gel insert is quite comfortable. The place I did it at didn't do the neatest job recovering the seat though.

I came across some info about reflashing the ECU a couple of days ago. They have a dealer in Thailand, but I can't seem to find anyone online who has actually done it. With the 10% power increase they claim, I'd be pushing close to 200hp. It should also top out at over 300 km/h instead of the 270 km/h it is currently limited to. I know I would probably never use all that power, but it would be nice to know that the engine was capable of running at its full potential.

  5. cool.

where did you get the vibranator - a scary name for tough riders thoughlaugh.png

    and how much was it?

    thanks man.

For my bike they were $128.06 including shipping and a 20% discount with the coupon code. I was expecting to pay a customs duty, but only had to pay 8 baht. They nailed me for full duty on the Helibars though,

  6. Recently put some Helibars on my VFR 1200. They are 2" higher, 1" back, and 1" wider than stock. They have totally transformed the bike. The seating position is much more upright and comfortable. Low speed handling and riding through traffic is much easier too. They make them for many different bikes.

I also installed a set of vibranators. The bike was pretty smooth before, but still a bit of vibration that would cause numbness on long rides. Not a hint of vibration with these though. You can use coupon code ADVRIDER for a nice discount.

  7. Glad you had a nice trip. Here is a vid of that area from a few years ago. We avoided the ferry and doubled back on the same road though. What a blast it is riding up there. Here is a map. http://goo.gl/maps/NoUFE The last bit of 3199 is where it really gets fun. Be sure to fill up at the gas station next to the Erawan Falls entrance. I Don't remember seeing any after that.

This is what I used on mine. I also put in full size velocity stacks and an Akrapovic slip on. Big Ban Modify installed everything, but I lost the speedo display and the engine warning light was stuck on. It had something to do with the fueling map. Big Wing was able to get it sorted though. While it was derestricted, the dyno graph wasn't very smooth. I was told by Big Wing that I had lost the warranty on my engine as well. It can be done, but i wouldn't recommend it.

  9. What model Yamaha bike ?

An XVS1100 V-Star/Dragstar. The mini-me of my other bike.

Dr. Bigbike shop in BKK have an extensive range of cruiser/chopper type spares including second hand. I found them to be very helpful and also speak good English too.

    Check their website GG!

Yes, if you go to Dr. Bike, ask for James. He is very helpful. I'm sure he can get everything sorted for you.

  10. Yes, it is quite a strange feeling when you first start riding the dual clutch bikes. I was reaching for the clutch lever for about a week after getting my VFR. Once you get the hang of it though, shifting tiptronic style is a lot of fun.

  11. Dogpoo, I thought you had put a down payment down on a CB 500 X, then you ordered a Versys, and now you are stuck between a VFR 1200 and a NC 700 X DCT.

Is there any bike you don't own or is it all, a sort of fantasy ownership in a virtual world of your own making?

Lol no mate, no fantasy, I'm just taking my time, going into it a lot before making a final decision! I haven't put any deposits down and I won't until I am a 100% sure I am buying the right bike!

All I can say for sure at the moment is that I have particular needs and wants in a bike, this has now narrowed the choice down to two bikes the VFR1200 and the NC700, at the moment the NC700 is top choice, will make a decision and order one of these two bikes next week!

Rode vfr1200 today for 5 laps at bonanza.

Good bike, smooth as hell and dct works well but i of course rode it at manual. There is a delay on gear changes at manual. It sounds also great. but too heavy for me. It is too much for thailand imo and not a great track bike as it feels like dropping into corners. But i m sure dream to tour.

    Get nc700x dogpoo.

Sent from my GT-N7100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

I have never experienced a delay when shifting in manual mode. You don't even have to come off the throttle. Full throttle and + + + +..... Loads of fun. I find the auto mode boring and rarely use it.
