  1. Economic indicators and government policies are what they are. Some of us look past the next fortnight. Economy is not a religion. ????
  2. Yes, it's like a bottomless pit of money. ????
  3. Feel free to put me on your ignore list. Your replies are certainly no loss to the forum.
  4. Maybe contact another bank. If they can open a bank account for foreigners, before they even arrive, surely they can do something for you. https://www.anz.com.au/personal/bank-accounts/everyday-accounts/moving-to-australia/en/
  5. I'm not the OP. Not sure a bank would accept a foreign document that may have been knocked up on Khaosan Road. I think they also run checks on the document number with certain government data bases. Main reasons, funding terrorism and money laundering.
  6. I use a VPN for banking and streaming sports.
  7. How many of those quotes were yours? ????
  8. No updates, thus far. I have contacted my accountant and asked them to inform me if they hear anything. The Tax Institute has "broadly welcomed the Government's willingness to reform the rules." https://www.taxinstitute.com.au/insights/articles/our-submission-on-the-proposed-changes-to-the-individual-tax-res
  9. Aussies might find this article interesting, and disturbing. Some eye watering figures. https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal/australia-drives-up-debt-to-menzian-levels-with-no-end-in-sight-20211228-p59kg1.html I can only imagine what new taxes and cost cutting awaits the present generation, and many generations to come. With a country of only 25 million people, having only around 12 million people in the workforce, it will take generations to pay back the debt. How could a country with such an abundance of resources be so mismanaged, for so long?
