I am looking for a shop where I could laminate some maps for the wall. The one issue though is the size requirement. The maps are 1 m wide and about 2 m long, so need extra large machinery. Does anyone have leads on this?

Was thinking of germinating some plants in Thailand before taking them out to one of the neighboring countries for planting so I could supervise the most critical part of the cycle. Is airport security going to mind about a box of plants going out of the country? I know the receiving countries animal/plant inspection might have something to say - but thats another issue.

Actually the extension is not for me, but for a Cambodian who got the tourist visa from the Embassy in Phnom Penh
-
Have I understood correctly that a 1-month tourist visa can be extended once for another month?
Thanks

Stupid question at the end of such a long discussion about difficulties of obtaining Yellow Tabien Bahn - what is the main benefits of having one (ID card, residence permit, citizenship) and how does that help in the process?

To follow up on this regarding the necessary paperwork at Thai Embassy to get the first non-immigrant O-visa... I found this list for Thai Spouse, which in this case is not entirely correct as neither one of us is Thai.
My question is - is bank statement required from her as she is the dependent one? All other documents are clear, except of course ID card which I do not have. Instead could show my work permit?
NON-IMMIGRANT VISA-O (THAI SPOUSE)
Required documents are:
1. One completed and signed visa application form
2. One recent passport-sized photograph (3.5 x 4.5cm)
3. Passport (valid for no less than 6 months)
4. Copy of Airline ticket or confirmation slip with flight number date of entry
5. Copy of Marriage Certificate, Passport and Identity Card of Thai sPOUse
(Copies of documents must be signed by Thai SPOUse)
6. Letter from Thai sPOUse
7. Bank Statement (at least 400,000 Baht)

Thanks for the information, precisely what was needed. It is extension based on employment, so I have non-Imm. B-type visa

In case of me having a work permit in Thailand and wife from neighboring country wanting to get long term visa to Thailand how should I proceed? I assume first visa application has to be in an Embassy at her home country, followed by application of extension upon arriving to Thailand. What visa class should we apply for and what are the documents required: 1) initially for Embassy and 2) for extension. Also is it possible to get multiple entry visa so there is no need to get re-entry permits all the time?
Cheers!

I am looking for recommendations for home insurance. What I need is something reliable for a condo in BKK, mainly against electric faults, fire, water damage etc.

There are some on concourse C as well

Just got a land title from the department, as well as some kind of Residence book. They told me its mainly for Thias to do the registration at the local office, but also said foreigners don't need to do it, but can. Is there any need to do it, but also any benefits of doing it?

Many people have problems whoever they are with, just look at the wiring in your street and its not hard to imagine why.
If you can get on the newer Cable network of True (Docsis3) 8 - 100 Mbit ultra high speed internet, I would say go for that, but you have not told us where you are.
BTS On Nut, unfortunately the condo does not have docsis available, otherwise would have definitely gone for that one.

Thanks for advice. The location is close to BTS On Nut. Good advice regarding asking the neighbors.

Just moving into new house soon, and condo management has offered two choices for internet connection. True or TOT. TOT seems to be a bit cheaper, but in terms of bandwidth, reliability of service and customer support which one is better?

A follow up question to this thread... after you have the documents from the respective embassies and permission from the ministry in Thailand do you still need to register the marriage separately somewhere, or is the permission from ministry same as marriage certificate? If not, where do you get the official marriage certificate?
The letter from the MFA is the certificate to prove you are eligible to marry in Thailand, you need to go to the Amphur (Local Government office, acts as Registrar) to get officially married. At the Amphur you will recieve the Kor Dor 2 (Marriage Certificate) and Kor Dor 3 (Registration of the marriage in the Amphur records).
Ok, thanks. I assume Kor Dor 2 and 3 are in Thai and in need of translation before useful in home country for the registration?
By the way, does Thai law recognise prenuptial agreements, and if they do where it is done?

In Thailand what are the tax consequences of owning a condo (annual property/capital tax)? Also is it linked in any way with the tax paid from Thai based income?
Secondly, what are the options / need for home insurance (fire, water damage, theft etc)?

Been scoping for a suitable condo for a while now. One potential place looks pretty good, hence I asked them to show me the condo rules book and last minutes of the board meeting to get an idea how things are run. Both were refused, partly on the grounds that nothing is in english either. Is this commonplace?
The management company is QPM, are they any good?
Thanks

A follow up question to the above. If you preliminarily transfer say 5 million baht, but end up buying a condo for 3.5 million, is there going to be issues about the excess of the transfer with the bank or the authorities?

I used to frequent Country Road 2 on an occasion, but after long delays it finally closed some months ago. And did that without letting me know where they planned to move, or if they moved at all (quit). Any news anyone?

Thanks. Will check them out next week.

I'm looking for a very good restaurant with Isaan food specifically, doesn't necessarily be Isaan orientated otherwise. Sukhumvit area would be the most convenient, but can go for further for this one as well.
Laminate Shop
in Bangkok

Found one in SEACOM but seemed to be close at least for Sundays. Also a pain to get to SEACOM in general. Luckily found another in Fortune Tower 3rd floor (MTR end of the building) called Inkjet something. They did the lamination on the spot.
