    UK also stopped

I am now planning to get my UK passport renewed after my last extension on 20 June at Udonthani Immigration has been stamped in my passport.

Just wondering do you know if the UK Passport Office puts a stamp in the new passport like as mentioned here that some other countries do?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

  2. I am a British Citizen retired and living in Udonthani, Thailand and my UK passport expires in June 2024.

To avoid having to go to Bangkok for renewal of my passport I am considering using Key Visa Thailand Company next month after my 1 year extension to expedite the renewal for a fee of 5000 THB not including the UK passport renewal costs.

I was wondering if any Members have any recent experience of using this Company for UK passport renewal.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

  3. I have a Thai Elite PE Visa and have booked my 1 year extension on 22nd June at Udonthani Immigration Office through Thai Elite.

Thai Elite have in the past always issued a Certified Letter by email for the Extension which is a requirement approx 3 weeks before the appointment however now they are saying that this letter will be issued 1 to 3 days before the appointment.

Getting the letter 1 day before the appointment date is in my opinion cutting it a bit short especially if one has to go to a print shop to print it out.

Just wondering if any Thai Elite Members have experienced any problems in getting this letter in a timely manner before the booking date for the extension at Immigration.

    Many thanks in advance.

  4. My wife has this week sent an email in Thai with some questions to Chang Wattana Immigration Division 1 (email address found on website) that she was hoping to get a written reply for.

Just wondering if any members have had any experience with sending emails to Chang Wattana and actually getting a reply and if yes how long did it take to get a reply.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Your wife will need to complete a TM30 report since it is a change of address from the last report done by the hotel.

Ubonjoe can you please confirm when you have time if my understanding of the TM30 requirements are correct for a person like myself living in Thailand with a Thai wife in our own home:

    •  A TM30 report is only required in my case if I enter Thailand on a new Visa (in my case 5 year Thai Elite Visa) or if we change our registered home address permanently.

    • When we travel away from our home in Thailand for more than 24 hours for a holiday then we (my wife) do not need to do a TM30 as this is the responsibility of the Hotel we are staying in.

    Many thanks in advance.

  6. We have booked a fully refundable 10 night holiday in Thailand where we will travel using our own car from our home in Udonthani to Rayong via Korat (stay 1 night on the way there and back).

During the start of the holiday we will both have had two covid injections (myself 2 Astra Zeneca and my Thai wife 2 Sinopharm) and we will both  have certificates from the Thai Ministry of Health confirming the injections.

My question is if the covid situation in Thailand is as a minimum the same as it is today when we travel are we allowed to travel based on the fact that we have both had the injections and certificates to prove this?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

You local office can do the one year extension of a Thai Elite visa entry.

Chiang Wattana should accept a TM30 form receipt done at any immigration office to do a Elite Visa.

A screenshot will accept of one done online or on the app.

Many thanks Ubonjoe I have already successfully done 2 one year Thai Elite Visa extensions at Udonthani Immigration without a TM30 as they do not require this even though Thai Elite say it is a requirement.

My understanding of your reply is that you are now confirming that Chang Wattana will accept a TM30 screenshot copy from the Immigration Website or from the TM30 App as evidence for a completed and approved TM30.

It would be financially disastrous if I went to Chang Wattana Immigration to get a 5 year Thai Elite Visa affixed in my passport and they said sorry we only accept the filled out, signed and approved TM30 Form (not issued by Udonthani Immigration only for permanent address changes) and not the screenshot copies.

If my understanding is incorrect please revert back.

It would be nice if some members who have used the online screenshot version of the TM30 at Chang Wattana without any problems could confirm this and many thanks in advance.

  8. Just wondering if anybody has any experience with Chang Wattana Immigration accepting the TM30 screenshot print out from the Immigration Website or from the TM30 App (as opposed to the TM30 Form) for Visa Extensions or for Affixing of 5 year Thai Elite Visas in Passports.

We live in Udonthani and the Immgration office here only approves the TM30 paper Forms for permanent address changes.

I have a TM30 screenshot print out from the Immigration Website for my last arrival in Thailand in 2019 and will need to use this for my next affixing of a 5 year Thai Elite Visa in my passport.

The affixing of my first 5 year Thai Elite Visa was done at Suvarnabhumi Airport without the need to provide a TM30 however due to Covid this service is now suspended.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

I went to Chaeng Wattana very recently and met a TE rep there to have a new visa inserted into my recently renewed passport, the TM30 paper which is stapled in the passport was one of the things required.

    Here's a snippet from their email :

Also before they would book the appointment to meet me at Chaeng Wattana they sent this :

So it looks like they most definitely do insist on having a TM30.

The interesting thing is that I actually booked into a hotel the night before I went to Chaeng Wattana so I do have to wonder if the hotel also registered me as being resident at the hotel and would it show on the computer system, they didn't mention it if it did......

Just wondering if the TM30 required by Immigration at Chang Wattana is the original one confirming your place of permanent residence in Thailand (we moved into our home in 2005 and dont have a TM30 copy although I believe my wife did register) or the last return from abroad into Thailand.

In addition to this do they accept a screenshot copy from the TM30 App.

Manythanks in advance for any help.

    Many thanks for sharing this.

I have the 5 year membership that I paid 500,000 THB for and I have just sent them an email requesting further clarification about upgrading to a 20 years membetship for an additional 500,000 THB.

We live in Udonthani and the immigration office here does not require TM30 applications so we do not have a copy and this has always been a headache as according to Thai Elite this is a requirement for getting the 5 year sticker put in the passport at Chang Wattana.

Does anybody know if this is still a Chang Wattana requirement.

Because of this I got my first 5 year sticker put in my passport at Suvarnabhumi Airport and I sincerely hope that I can do this again in 2025.

When I paid the 500,000 THB there was a legal clause in my agreement that if for what ever reason immigration refused to approve and issue the 5 year sticker then the money paid would be reimbursed in full within 30 days of Thai Elite receiving the payment.

Just wondering if this is still the case with new applications or upgrades.

I will update this Post when I get a clear reply from Thai Elite.

Today I received a reply from Thai Elite (very good service) confirming that I can get my present membership upgraded for an additional 15 years for 500,000 THB including VAT.

The upgrading takes approximately 1 month for immigration to process and the only thing I lose is the Limo service which is not a problem for me.

Just wondering for those who have had the 5 year visa affixed in the passport at Chang Wattana is the TM30 that is required here the one confirming the reporting of ones permanent address which in my case was in 2005 and I dont have a copy.

If the affixing of the 5 year visa can not be done at Suvarnabhumi Airport (no TM30 required) then my wife will have to contact Udonthani Immigration and try and get a copy.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

It's possible I got this email but didn't notice it when it came in, they do have a tendency to send emails out which contain remote images hosted on their servers, my mail client doesn't load those at all as they're often used for 'tracking purposes' so I've always had them disabled.

Interesting to hear though, maybe I'll use this upgrade route and take my membership which expires in 3 years time + the 6 extra covid months by adding the 15 extra years for another 500k Baht.

This comes as a bit of a bonus as I was expecting to pay 1 Million for that at some point in a few years time...

  12. I receive my pensions from Norway paid into my Norwegian bank account and I send money when needed to Thailand to live on.

Tax is automatically deducted on my pension payments in Norway and I also have to show the Thai tax authorities here every year how much money (International Transfers) I have transfered into my Thai bank account as money derived in the same year sent to Thailand is taxable in Thailand.

Because of the DTA between Norway and Thailand I always get my taxable income in Norway reduced by the amount of money sent to Thailand (International Transfers) and so far every year I have received a tax rebate from Norway.

I use a Norwegian Tax lawyer who lives in Thailand to write a letter to the Norwegian Tax Authorities documenting how much money I have sent to Thailand and I also get a Certificate of Residence and Certificate of Income Tax Paid in Thailand from the Thai Tax Authorities that is sent with the letter.

I believe that many who receive there pensions from Norway have the same benefits to avoid double taxation.

If any Norwegians would like the email of the Norwegian Tax Lawyer then please message me.

  13. Today my wife received an SMS asking me to contact the University in Udonthani to get my first Astra Zeneca vaccine at 1 pm previously booked for the 24th June using the Mor Prom Application,

I must say based on previous experience I would only believe this after the injection was going in my arm.

We arrived at the University at about 11am and thank God we arrived early as the chaos had already started with hordes of people unsure what to do or where to go.

After pleading with my wife to go and ask (she doesnt like asking questions) we finally managed to get in the right que and very near the front and after filling out a form and taking temperature and blood pressure checks I was given the injection.

After the injection I was given a certificate in Thai confirming that I had received the injection.

I am very pleased and impressed that they manged to get it sorted now; well done Thailand.

When we left the building the chaos was even worse and especially with the parking however after a lof of reversing we managed to get out ot the car park.

Because of all the previous confusion and cancellations etc we booked the Moderna injections at a private hospital and maybe we will take these also as we need the vaccination proof in English.

Best wishes to all with your injections.

  14. I was one of the so called lucky ones that managed to book a covid injection for today 24 June 2021 however this was postponed this morning with no new date given.

Because of this myself and my Thai wife registered today for 2 Moderna injections at Wattana Hospital in Udonthani where they said that we would probably be able to get injections before the end of the year and if we had not been given injections by the end of January then our deposit would be refunded.

Posting this as it may be of use to others.

We paid 3800 THB which is 50% of the total cost for 4 injections.

  15. Great news for those with Thai Elite Visas; today I went to Nong Han, DLT Office in Udonthani to renew my 5 year car driving licence that expires today and I can honestly say that I was concerned that I would only get a 2 year licence.

I have never visited this Office before.

To my suprise and great joy I was issued with a 5 year driving licence that expires in 2026.

Unsure why maybe the rules have changed however did not dare to ask.

Best wishes to all other Thai Elite Visa holders in getting 5 year driving licences.

  16. Hello Alf Huy sorry this was meant to be a reply to your Post.

Very sorry to hear this I recommend keep trying my wife really struggled first with getting the address on the ID Card, also she had to put my first name first in Thai and then in English in Brackets and then do the same with my surname, she also used her mobile number and not mine (she owns both numbers as amazingly I cannot have a post paid with no work permit) however with perseverance she managed. Good luck.
