Hello TV community. I'm in the process of considering my options regarding an ongoing contract i have with a Thai school. I started with them mid year, and on receiving a copy of my signed contract i was told specifically that "the school will sue you if you breach this contract". Apparently this threat is given to all their teaching staff. I've been teaching in Thailand for years with many signed contracts, most of them fulfilled, some ending prematurely with written notice due to unforeseen circumstances which were reasonable with no problems, and certainly no threats to be sued. So my question is if I were forced to break contract and leave my current position due to poor health or flying back home to tend to my elderly parent's needs, is the school able to sue me? And if so, what legal recourse do I have here? I intend to carry out my contract as I usually do, but i can't accept this arbitrary form of absolute control over my life. I've never been threatened to be sued ever up until now.

After living in Nonthaburi for 10 years, I moved from to BKK 2 years ago. Nothing pleased me more than getting away from Nonthaburi immigration - unhelpful and downright obstructive.
My exact experience there both yesterday & today. Those frontdesk underling nitpickers are very good at driving people away. Best to go around them if there's a 'fast-track' option available there.

So Nonthaburi back to being hell hole.
What a bunch of A ####.
It's messy but you could check into hotel Bangkok and do your extension at Laksi immigration IT mall.
They will accept screenshot of TM30 and also possible to make bookings.
Nice suggestion there : ) Thank you!

Hi everyone. Just wanted to report my experience from today at the Nonthaburi IO. My plan was to extend my visa exempt for 30 days. On arrival I was told that they would only accept my online booking if i had a photo copy of the actual booking: Strike 1. Next I was told that the TM30 also had to be printed out with a screenshot not acceptable: Strike 2. Once I finally got a copy of my TM30 from one of the outside printing services through sending the screenshot to them with the Line app I was told that my TM30 had not been done on time, hence today IO will not grant me an extension: Strike 3. I was handed out the TM30 form, told that I must pay 800 baht, along with a 'documents required' list stapled to the TM30 form. According to this form I'm required to print every page of my passport, along with the copy of ID card of householder, copy of house registration authority, lease agreement & a copy of the condominium title deed. They also handed me a Power of Attorney form to fill out..So that escalated to say the least. So far In my experience, I've found the Cheang Wattana IO much more convenient in regards to honouring online booking with screenshot proof of booking and reasonable in regards to TM30, the last one I did was also late, but it wasn't an issue for the IO officer at Cheang Wattana IO.. Anyway, it looks like i may have to do a visa run or fly out of the country before or on 14th April as i wont be able to acquire signatures from the condo owner today or tomorrow who's away for Songkran.
*Also, there are no ATMs in close proximity to the Nonthaburi IO building, with the only cash option being offered by outside shops with your bank app. They charge a 20 baht fee for this.

Hi everyone. My 45 day visa exempt is up on the 14th of April, right on Songkran, so I plan to go into the local IO in Nonthaburi tomorrow to get a 30 day extension. Aside from my passport,TM7 form, photo, + 1,900 baht, is there anything else required? Are they still asking for the TM30 screenshot?
Cheers!

OP, you are applying for a 30 day extension.
Has your condo made a TM30.
If so obtain a screenshot of it.
Nonthaburi immigration may want a copy.
Yes, my TM30's been done. I've got a screen shot of it thank you.

Have you done a TM30 for Address change?
Yes I have. I guess that settles it then.

Hi TV folk. I recently moved to Nonthaburi and will need to apply for a 30 day extension next month. Is it still possible to do this at the immigration office at Chaengwattana, or am i now required to do this at the Nonthaburi IO? Also, is the Nonthaburi IO a walk in deal, or is it possible to book a time online? Cheers

Good point.
@markusss As with anything like this, nothing is guaranteed, hence the disclaimer. For a bit more info to weigh up the risk, I've just downloaded it and run it through a site I often use as a quick initial check to see if any known issues with a file - none detected (again, disclaimer, still no guarantee).
Scan results URL is rather convoluted so link here if you want to check the results.
Noted. Thanks for the APK suggestion as a possible workaround and appreciate the disclaimer : )

In that case, then just ignore that field and proceed.
It wont allow that. It prompts in Thai that the field is still incomplete, thus unable to be completed: ลงทะเบียนที่หน่วยงาน: กรุณาป้อนข้อมูลให้ครบถ้วน

Have you tried creating a new Thai based google account/changing your existing account to the Thai playstore? It won't show if it thinks you are outside Thailand.
Depending on how risk averse you are you could always grab the apk from another site and side load it e.g. https://apkpure.com/section38/th.go.immigration.section38
Disclaimer: I'm not recommending side loading nor take any responsibility if you do; just offering another option. If you go that way do your due diligence.
Ahh, that makes sense. Had the same issue trying to find the 7-11 delivery app on apple app store. Thanks for the helpful suggestion.

If you possibly can, download the section 38 app. It's a million times simpler than the awful website.
I couldn't find this app. Tried looking on my android tablet to no avail.

That box is automatically populated when you enter your address. When I type my address in it is automatically populated with "ตรวจคนเข้าเมืองจังหวัดบุรีรัมย์" which translates to Buriram Immigration.
That box isn't auto populating for me for some reason. Tried with a few different browsers, same result..

Hi everyone. i'm attempting to register my TB30 on extranet.immigration.go.th, but it wont let me get passed "* ลงทะเบียนที่หน่วยงาน : Register at" as I'm unable to type any information into that box. If anyone knows how to get around this it would be much appreciated.
Thank you!

Hi TV community. Since recently moving into a rental the Thai owner/landlord has told me that I can register the TM30 myself. My last landlord registered it themselves, which I assumed the landlord is legally required to do. Can I register it myself as my current landlord suggested? And if i choose not to, will i possibly be denied visa extensions etc? Apologies if this subject has already been well covered.
Thank you

Hey everyone. I'm in the process of flying back home, so I've been flight hunting. I found a cheap flight that would put me 1 day overstay. I know it's frowned upon & not advised due to running the risk of being banged up in the immigration prison, but is a single day overstay still charged at a rate of 500 baht per day minus the blacklist? If it would be wiser to get a 7 day visa extension leading up to my departure date, I may just do it that way. Thx!

Let us know how it went.
Today Cheangwattana was packed to the rafters. I received queue number 142. It was about 10:30am when I got my number & they were up to 62 at that time. The flow was slow to say the least. Luckily I booked a time for 11am so immigration processed my documents right on 11am after showing them proof of my booking. All my info/copies + documents were in order & all went smoothly with the covid extension. I'm due back there in 3 weeks & was told to book once again & to just bring my passport. On requesting the TM7 form + additional documents required I noticed that the affidavit was not included, so I had to ask for this. All in all it was a great experience relatively speaking. I highly advice others to make a booking in advance. It easily saved me 3 hours + of waiting.

The same form and etc used be used to apply for the covid 19 extension.
You can put 60 days and the reason for the extension.
You will need to complete this affidavit.

Hey everyone. I'm about to apply for my first covid extension coming from a TR visa + 30 day extension. Am I required to submit the same copies of my passport along with TM7 form, TM30 + 1,900 baht as a standard extension? And what about the period of intention to stay & reasons for extension sections? Can I write 60 days along with my reason for extending my stay? Thank you!
-
Hi again TV community. I'm currently 20 days away from the end of my TR visa extension, so I'm looking for options to extend my stay for a month or 2. Is it possible to apply for a covid extension at Cheangwattana leading up to the 26th of May? I arrived in February 2022, so I'm wondering if I'll be granted a covid extension. Apologies if this topic has already been well covered. Cheers

You would need a copy of the receipt given when the TM30 report is done.
My friend registered the TM30 online last night. Is a receipt of this still required to get my visa extension at Cheangwattana seeing that I'm now on their TM30 record system?
