  1. Best place to get info about korat is join korat/expat on face book if you want information from people that lives there. Korat is a big city so it will take time to get to now the place it is plenty of service apartments to rent from price is from 4-10000 month you even get house for that if you rent for 6 months. Here are some some hangouts for falang The mall , check in. The ram bar , George dragon. Bus from morchit every 20 min.

  2. Yes the new Ranger's looks cool, had a look inside a WT2.2 and the center screen is huge compared to ours and I can see it got much more air-bags now as well.

BUT I don't know what you can use it for, sat Nav? I uses Garmin for sat Nav, heard that sat Nav's supplied with cars/truck sucks and are costly to update but only from what I read on-line, no hand-on experiences in that regard so don't take that to the bank.

My V-Cross (D-Max if you don't know) system appears, to me, to be pretty much the same as Garmin. I have even run my 'stand alone' Garmin at the same time as the unit in my truck. I receive exactly the same map/voice/instructions ... the unit in my truck talks to me a couple of seconds before my stand alone unit.

The big difference is that the unit in the truck cannot download any of my saved POIs which is vey annoying as the unit has wiped them out twice! Map update costs about 1000thb.

Here is a pic showing a Ranger screen ... http://autoverdenews.blogspot.com/2014/10/ford-ranger-2015-more-technology-with.html but don't know if it applies to the latest Ranger ... Here is what you see on the Ford site ... http://www.ford.co.th/en/trucks/ranger/specifications/spec-data.

  3. considering its size, KORAT is incredibly dull, compared to Khon Kaen or Udon. The best thing in Korat is the Highway to Khon Kaen and Krungthep ;-)

Yer , I am not knocking--Khon Kean either & its worth noting that IMO it has some of the best hospitals in Thailand, as that's where a lot of the medical training is done (heart, Dentistry etc) = hence a lot of medical students. I go to the heart university there every 3 months for a full check up (ECG--Ultra scans ...etc) every-bit as good as Bumrungrad--700-Bhat (in fact it was a doctor from Bumrungrad that recommended I do this when he found out where I lived)

A new centra mall in Khon K.....yer Udon now has 5 shopping mall's.

Look at the history of Udon--- Air America, USA Army ....etc They had bases there throughout the V. War, service guys marrying Thai girls back in the 70s --taking them home but coming back with children to retire. If your Pasa Thai isn't so good---that's not a problem in Udon. 35 minutes from Lao--Thai's walk across for 20 baht & return with whatever you drink-- My wife brings me back french wine that I would have a problem to get in BKK at such a cheap price. 2 large bar area's (if that's your scene, ) Hotels in the very middle of town wi-fi etc at under 400 Baht a night. I have often talked to guys in some of the nightclubs saying we haven't got this in Korat (2nd biggest city--in pop terms).. Lots of Lao girls.

If your a family guy--it has 2 very large water fun parks , surf pools etc, fun parks--wall climbing etc I could go on---& on.....& on.......

& yes I am thinking of running for mayor there next yer............wub.png

Seriously though Khon K is a nice town--(Korat isnt IMHO) ---Udon is the smallest of the 3 --but (I think) beats them both hands down in every dept (except medical)

Living in korat for a long time can u tell me what we don`t have here please... you saying( I have often talked to guys in some of the nightclubs saying we haven't got this in Korat (2nd biggest city--in pop terms). If you want to now where the night clubs are or pattaya style agogo just ask me and I will pm you..

  4. The mall in korat have most things for falangs and have a swimingpool and a water park for kids , if you up for a beer you find a bar in basement if you want to be served by pretty ladies and see some falangs . klang plaza is another mall not as big by the yamo monument. Most big markets are open in night time like (save one market ) open from 6 pm..sells most things and have cheap falang food . If you looking for something to do in day time with your family a recommend Art in korat and korat Zoo.

  5. will ask taxi driver how bad it is 6 am in the morrning cheers......

6am im the morning might work out.

ask him the price first,est.8hrs.to korat,my guess 5,000bht.

8 hours would be with heavy traffic then!

Suvarnabhumi to Korat is 260 km all on motorways or 4 lane highways.

With normal traffic well below 4 hours.

5000 Baht? Also a bit over the top for this distance.

agree kb.BUT its the start of the 7most dangerous days over the new yr.i have never in over 15yrs.of back and fo to korat that time of the yr.but my wfs.brothers usually come up from bkk.and they always say its a nightmare.op if you dont have a regular driver there are a few adds.i normally get a taxi to morchit then bus but that time of the yr.the buses are goner be packed to the luggage rack on top.

  8. What falang want !

What is left from a Thai man , biggrin.pngcoffee1.gif .

I am not farang, well why farang wanna married thai then?

If you read the post and read between the lines ,Its about foreigner that goes to Pattaya for example and meet a bar girl than come to conclusion how Thai girls are .problem here is that 90 % don´t speak Thai becuse they are to lazy ..so they never meet normal girls.

My comment was about what type of girls that you normally meet in a bar.coffee1.gif

  9. How much do typical 5,000 services compare in terms of costs for Isuzu vs Toyota out of interest?

Is it really necessary to service every 5,000km? In England it's every 5,000 or 6,000 miles with major services at 10,000 and 12,000 intervals. Interested to know the reason why cars in this particular part of the world are recommended for service at more regular intervals.

Isuzu 3 l 2014 model service 10000 km 1400 B in Korat city. ( old gen isuzu service interval was 5000 km).
