  1. considering its size, KORAT is incredibly dull, compared to Khon Kaen or Udon. The best thing in Korat is the Highway to Khon Kaen and Krungthep ;-)

Yer , I am not knocking--Khon Kean either & its worth noting that IMO it has some of the best hospitals in Thailand, as that's where a lot of the medical training is done (heart, Dentistry etc) = hence a lot of medical students. I go to the heart university there every 3 months for a full check up (ECG--Ultra scans ...etc) every-bit as good as Bumrungrad--700-Bhat (in fact it was a doctor from Bumrungrad that recommended I do this when he found out where I lived)

A new centra mall in Khon K.....yer Udon now has 5 shopping mall's.

Look at the history of Udon--- Air America, USA Army ....etc They had bases there throughout the V. War, service guys marrying Thai girls back in the 70s --taking them home but coming back with children to retire. If your Pasa Thai isn't so good---that's not a problem in Udon. 35 minutes from Lao--Thai's walk across for 20 baht & return with whatever you drink-- My wife brings me back french wine that I would have a problem to get in BKK at such a cheap price. 2 large bar area's (if that's your scene, ) Hotels in the very middle of town wi-fi etc at under 400 Baht a night. I have often talked to guys in some of the nightclubs saying we haven't got this in Korat (2nd biggest city--in pop terms).. Lots of Lao girls.

If your a family guy--it has 2 very large water fun parks , surf pools etc, fun parks--wall climbing etc I could go on---& on.....& on.......

& yes I am thinking of running for mayor there next yer............wub.png

Seriously though Khon K is a nice town--(Korat isnt IMHO) ---Udon is the smallest of the 3 --but (I think) beats them both hands down in every dept (except medical)

Living in korat for a long time can u tell me what we don`t have here please... you saying( I have often talked to guys in some of the nightclubs saying we haven't got this in Korat (2nd biggest city--in pop terms). If you want to now where the night clubs are or pattaya style agogo just ask me and I will pm you..

  2. The mall in korat have most things for falangs and have a swimingpool and a water park for kids , if you up for a beer you find a bar in basement if you want to be served by pretty ladies and see some falangs . klang plaza is another mall not as big by the yamo monument. Most big markets are open in night time like (save one market ) open from 6 pm..sells most things and have cheap falang food . If you looking for something to do in day time with your family a recommend Art in korat and korat Zoo.

  3. will ask taxi driver how bad it is 6 am in the morrning cheers......

6am im the morning might work out.

ask him the price first,est.8hrs.to korat,my guess 5,000bht.

8 hours would be with heavy traffic then!

Suvarnabhumi to Korat is 260 km all on motorways or 4 lane highways.

With normal traffic well below 4 hours.

5000 Baht? Also a bit over the top for this distance.

agree kb.BUT its the start of the 7most dangerous days over the new yr.i have never in over 15yrs.of back and fo to korat that time of the yr.but my wfs.brothers usually come up from bkk.and they always say its a nightmare.op if you dont have a regular driver there are a few adds.i normally get a taxi to morchit then bus but that time of the yr.the buses are goner be packed to the luggage rack on top.

    082 952 1859

the last 2 are regular korat-swampy-korat.

  5. I use the camera on my Isuzu d max v cross , take some time to get use to it . You can trust the the red line on your screen.

Here are some accessories that i got for my v cross that I am happy with.

Dash cam buy a god one wide angel and hd quality cost 5000 baht.

Aeroklas lid ink paint and installation 22000 baht

12 volt socket in the trunk if you want a fridge 1500 baht

bigger plastic cover in the wheel house so you don’t get mud in the engine room 1400 baht.

    Prices are from korat......

  6. What falang want !

What is left from a Thai man , biggrin.pngcoffee1.gif .

I am not farang, well why farang wanna married thai then?

If you read the post and read between the lines ,Its about foreigner that goes to Pattaya for example and meet a bar girl than come to conclusion how Thai girls are .problem here is that 90 % don´t speak Thai becuse they are to lazy ..so they never meet normal girls.

My comment was about what type of girls that you normally meet in a bar.coffee1.gif

  7. How much do typical 5,000 services compare in terms of costs for Isuzu vs Toyota out of interest?

Is it really necessary to service every 5,000km? In England it's every 5,000 or 6,000 miles with major services at 10,000 and 12,000 intervals. Interested to know the reason why cars in this particular part of the world are recommended for service at more regular intervals.

Isuzu 3 l 2014 model service 10000 km 1400 B in Korat city. ( old gen isuzu service interval was 5000 km).

  8. You can go to the polis station and report that it is noise after midnight record on videcamera as proof. That vill take care of the problem. In the village here in korat some people had dogs that run on the street but they are all dead because somebody poison them so no more dogs on the street now.

If you get a red police box on your house 500 baht per month the police will do anything to help you .because they want money and they no if they don’t help money stops.

  9. Insulate the interior walls with insulation backed drywall.

Install an exhaust fan in the roof to remove the hot air, electric or turbine drive,

Clad the outside walls off the house with wood strip or similar.

Double the depth of insulation in the attic.

install a capped vent on the ridge tiles to allow hot air to escape.

Plant large trees around the house to provide shade.

Instal air con driven by solar power.

    Paint the house white.

Bury the house in soil, bank it up against the walls and make the roof into a patio.

If those things don't work, get back to me.

Clad the outside walls off the house with wood strip or similar. like this one but use something else then wood. have you seen air con driven by solar power or fan driven by solar?

  10. Why doesn't the OP just acclimatise? Stop trying to make yourself cool, but condition your body to accept it. Stop sitting in a room that makes it feel like you're back home. Do it gradual and up the thermostat on your aircon daily. Same goes for the car. Aircon ain't worth siht (anagram) if you travel below 90km per hour. Just wind yer windows down. You're the problem. Not the heat.

28 on the aircon with fan I am ok .can`t sleep when it is close to 34 , happy that

    you can.......

You missed the '?' off at the end, dummy.

The subject was ….. Someone have any solution to reduce the heat in a 2 story house ? .

For your information here in Korat city the temperature is more extreme then most places in Thailand 38 to 42 to is common from April to jun and night temperature is between 34 to 36 . why I live here? . My family work here. Acclimatise 24 years in Thailand.. (?) I am not English .....

  11. I too live in Korat. A good insulation, like the type they spray in, is always a help. I have very good insulation in my attic space and if you touch my ceiling it is never hotter than about 80 F. But the problem in my house is the windows, I have 8 in my master bedroom so I have heavy blackout drapes that have a reflective white coating on the side facing out. They do help a lot but I think double pane windows would also help. The top floor will always be hotter than the bottom floor. I find in my house that the bottom floor is about 10 degrees F cooler than the top floor.

My bottom floor is also 10 degrees cooler than the top floor and the roof is insulate with rockwoll (stay cool) so nothing more I can do with the atic. The only thing now how I see it is the widows ,I trying to to find a supplier in korat that sells quality window film ,they say on 3m website that the film can reject up to 60% of the heat coming through your windows if you believe them.

    link.

  13. A Thai man don’t pay sin sod for a bar girl, girl with a baby or been married before only Farang do.

The only exemption to this if the Thai girl’s family are rich .

A Thai man check his girl friend family first and then he Decide if he going to married her, Farang don´t.

A Thai man never sleep at his girl friend house (same rom ) only farang do.

If you sleep with your girlfriend in same room at her family house you have 2 choices run or pay the fee...........good luck
