Simply not true.  It would depend on the clothes.  If they are washable clothes like shirts, pants, t-shirts, undergarments, then they are washed in water, so getting wet will not "damage" them. Being new and off the rack is irrelevant.  However, if you are talking about dry cleaning goods such as high end tailored suits, tuxedos, etc, then water could damage them.

Gee people will argue over anything.  Even new clothes that have not have the dye set properly especially on cotton will run and stain lighter colored fabrics around them. .  Case in point, I had a nice bandanna that was red white and black in my bag the other day. It was new and it got wet. The red color ran all over the globe and stained everything straight with red.

    Please troll somebody else.

One key difference is that you didn't get out of the ticket because your last name is long or that of a "big" important family.

Because you could see 200 meters in every direction is irrelevant if you actually did run the light. I'm sure you agree.

I got out of 95% of my tickets in the states because of my "pocket medical license."

  3. There was some scumbag Brit in front of the Corner Bar today who started taking peoples hats from them and wearing them. That didn't go over well.  Then he started stopping scooters turning off the engines and calling on the crowd to throw water at them.  This went on for a good while.  Then he started stopping scooters, turning the engine off and taking the keys out.  There were some very pissed off people then.  I decided to leave at that point.  Low life scumbag...

First time in Pattaya Songkran enjoyed and ever since then 5 later , Now hate it with a passion!!!! Would be so nice if just a calm polite wet not a dangerous loud soaking . I have lost 3 good  people to the stupidity of this festival I think its developed out of control , Why cant it be done in one or 2 blocks where the idiots can be idiots 24 hrs if they like why disrupt other decent folk whom dont share the same idiosy. Love great tunes but man I can't get myself anywhere round the menotinous beat and horns sounding garbage they dance to.It is "Sh@##$$5!!!! Top it off with the your empty headed stupid mentality the looks and motions and drunkedness ,the deaths and you start to realize just how wired differently the people of this place really is . I am of the belief that this race of polluting self centered selfish and most of all STUPIDITY can never change for anything better and I am really saddened to say that . It cant change as the majority don't and no fault of their own have any education to know any better. But on the other side some folk enjoy the wild lawlessness side  and who cares if people die or get injured.

"don't and no fault of their own have any education to know any better." I'm with you although it appears 99% of those people looking to inflict harm or pain are farangs not Thais.  i pointed out a guy in front of me to my buddy that had just been hit in the ear with one of those high powered PVC guns.  He was bent over in pain holding his ear.  90% percent easily today aimed for the face and ears.  if I didn't have earplugs in it would have been a problem.  last Pattaya songkran for me

don't clothes get washed in water or were these dry cleaning clothes?

You're kidding right. like I said they were in bags from stores in Central.  They were new clothes off the rack just purchased.  Any clothes getting wet like that will damage them...

Just observed no less than 3 in use, Soi 7 first bar on the right.

Wielded by shirtless sunken chest Chinese males, aiming for faces.

I know.  i think the number is 1337 to call in to report it.  Out of curiosity I want to give it a try today.  I never imagined "ratting out" anything to police.  Where a nice celebration is turned into potential blindness, deafness or motocy crash, I'll make an exception...  https://www.pattayaunlimited.com/pattaya-emergency-services/

Possibly tonight as many chairs are covered with plastic on Soi 7/8.

    This was 2 hours ago.

Started a day early on Wednesday.  unfortunate people who were stocking up last minute supplies got soaked with all their groceries.  Some older ladies were on the bhat bus with me had shopping bags from Central  with what looked like clothes and "other" things that should not be wet.  they weren't happy to say the least.  One lady from Khon Kaen said she never saw it start early.  Neither have I?

    True.

At breakfast today, my waitress poured 1/2 of a shot glass containing water on my shoulder.

It was a slight startle and well received wish.

Bar/social scum and tourist trash are the only ones that play hard and insert their lack of self esteem into a nice holiday.

Take a closer look and you will see this is true.

Thank you.  very well said.  i never thought of it in those terms but it psychologically it makes perfect sense.

Not sure what all the fuss is about?
A tourist sat on the window ledge of a temple someone with a lower point of view got a view of her pants, took a photo and posted it on social media.
I've seen Thais sit on the window ledges at temples before is it just this one is more holy than the rest?
    Better explain that to tourists.
P.s. the guys in the Photo look more like Military to me in their uniforms not Media or maybe that's the media uniform.

been coming to Thailand since 1971.  have spent more than my share of time in temples and lived in them for extended periods.  never saw a Thai woman " sit on the window ledges at temples before" I'd like to hear from other members that they've seen this.

"it just this one is more holy than the rest"  that's an opinion. No offence, IMPO it's BS...

Perhaps they truly are higher powered than others.. that is about the only thing I can think about.

I can understand the trader being in tears, she loses a lot of money and threat of jail.

If these are no different from others then this is just a shakedown. Some real testing is needed.

But unless the customs office really checked them (like when you have to go to customs office) just being able to receive them does not mean a thing. Plenty of drugs send by mail too, bet the excuse would not work there either.

Its a real strange story and I feel for the trader and think there are better things to do for the police. In the old days you had pipe water guns that really did damage. I would not mind if they gone after those.. but this.. crazy IMHO (unless they truly are more powerful)

From the picture i thought they were all laughing...

I've no idea but a self employed friend of mine in Germany had a routine operation in Germany on his private health insurance, the blood tests before the OP showed that he had had gonorrhea and that he hadn't reported this change in circumstances to his insurance company, they cancelled his insurance and he had to pay the OP himself.

I think that response was from someone else posting.  I had not heard of a test that checks for antibodies, only active infection.  I believe it probably exists though.  Only we don't use it clinically.  Interesting his insurance cancelled him for an STD.  I went to a cash practice many, many years ago.  dealing with Ics is the worst!
