  1. The best and most responsible answer. Take it in for an oil change and ask for an inspection. Unless you can find an English speaking mechanicof you can speak and understand Thai, take a friend who can. The chain might just need some oil. " if it's not broken don't fix it ! "

I have a 2002 Dream and it's just coming up to 170,000 km. The engine has never been touched. It does not burn oil. It does not smoke. It runs just fine.

It's our staff hack bike. Oil changed every 2000 km. It has been all over Thailand from Chiang Mai in the North to Phuket and Hat Yai in the South.

Unless you have a good reason to pull your engine apart I would leave it as it is.

    Service items:

    Fuel filter

    Spark plug

    Valve clearances

    Air filter

    Chain and sprockets

    Brake shoes

    Oil change.

Whatever you do to the brakes they will never be much good. It's the biggest weak point on this model.

Fuel consumption will not match the later fuel injected Hondas but it runs fine on gasohol provided it is used regularly and gives around 50 km per litre.

  2. Firstly you can now make a single booking with Thai Airways from Chiang Mai to Heathrow either on their website or through a travel shop, Transworld in Chiang Mai are very good agents. You can choose your flight times to suit and ensure a short transfer time in Bangkok without leaving the airport. Once you check your luggage in at Chiang Mai you pick it up at Heathrow, so no hastle at Bangkok. Tell the agent that the passenger is in a wheelchair and assistance will be laid on in all three airports.

As regards overstay, stay in Chiang Mai for a couple of days prior to departing and get this sorted out at immigration, there's an office very near the airport. Then you can take your friend to the Thai Airways check in at CM airport and leave with the knowledge that he will be well taken care of until he gets to arrivals at Heathrow.

  3. This has been in force since 2012 - I returned to England in Oct. 2012 to be refused treatment from the NHS as I was one of the honest ones letting them know that I lived in Thailand. Many don't do this and keep a ficticious address in England. Prescribed with a serious illness in 2010 I have treatment and buy medication in Thailand, very expensive. I was able to see a GP in England who had treated me before, but a new prescription had to be paid for, rather than receive it free as over 60. The only way he could refer me to my previous NHS specialist consultant, was by private arrangement and payment. This after 45 years NI contributions. We are disowned in a similar way that we don't receive annual inflation increases to our state pension.

Disgracefull treatment because so much of the English tax and NHI payments are needed to look after the huge number of immigrants.

You may therefore find it difficult to believe that I will return to England soon. Priority is I miss my son and daughter and want to spend the time I have left being close to them, but I will get free NHS treament again and the pension increase. I'm also really fed up with the Thai's selfish attitude and greed to people other than themselves and their immediate families.

  4. Oh dear a Thai talking to westerner like this how dare they, the should be kowtowing down at your feet saying "yes boss" you littered dear boy and were called on it

As regards "I am a big guy and can handle myself" grow up you silly man, you will not be so big if you have 10 of them coming at you to beat the sh*t out of you

All over a piece of cucumber.... Grow up, how petty

This reply is petty, more so than the piece of cucumber. It's also very insulting. You're as bad as the Thai taxi drivers. Thai people throw rubbish in the streets constantly, when they walking, riding or driving and they burn everything from their homes, including plastic. They don't care. Get off your high horse.

  5. Why on earth are you paying for their motor ? - stop the payments and walk away you can't keep buying women. Find a city lady with her own source of income and share the expenses of living together.

  6. Toyota Hilux definitely the best. I have a 4 door now.. Sounds like you're in town rather than rural, so 2.5ltr. diesel should suit no need for a three ltr. and you don't need 4x4. Please don't try petrol / auto as very juicy, I've tried one and got rid after 6 months. Try Toyota Sure dealer, slightly dearer but they'll give you a warranty and make sure that what you buy is fully serviced.

  7. Monk now supports torture as well as breaking most of his other monkpromises.

Sent from my GT-I9300 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

In full agreement with your comment - Monks are only beggars praying on other people's ignorance - Nothing special or holy about them at all - I'm surprised that this monk didn't take photos on his iphone or ipad to circulate among his " followers. "
