  1. >>do you really care if the bars close at 1 am?? I live in florida and the bars here close at 2 am go out earlier if you go to the bars

yes because of the people who are affected by it... the locals... bar owners and employees... iahve other businesses here so i am not affected by it... but i know many people who are involved in the entertainmant industry and they are not in support of it... the majority of these people are thais

  2. >>who cares maybe this will stop human trafficking once and for all go solve real problems and my heart goes out to the people affected but their are more important things to deal with than bars closing at 1am

i agree that human trafficking is also a real problem but if you have any belief that human trafficking will be impacted in way shape or form by closing entertainment venues early then you are dreaming...

... if anything, it has the potential to make it worse... people only believe in these dreams of better places (so they are told when they are poached - human trafficking) because they can not make money here...

... what do you think is going to happen if toursim falls, investors start reducing their investments... less job opportunities and more people out of jobs...

this then becomes a poachers dream (human traffickers) who prey on desperate people in desperate times... like i suggested, think about the bigger picture...

  3. >>Oh puke. Who cares, go solve a real problem.

This is a real problem for investors and bar employees alike... think of the bigger picture.

surprised he only has 26 emails... every one complains but thats it... thought there were more people in pattaya with more backbone...

  4. exactly, anyone from the TVP care to shed some light on this situation for us... is this going to be an ongoing thing and for how long... are they going to enforce this the whole way thru high season which is nearly upon us?

  5. disappointing for the girls at the least as they all enjoy that comp... fun police strike again...

so maybe the early closing was just for the main part of the long weekend... we will see what happens... i hope so for everyone involved in the entertainment industry and for me for my weekend sessions :o

  6. ah, then I think I should really do it before I'm too old to do so :o thanks mate.

older in the sense that i have less time for partying due to business responsibilities... but well worth the experience... i think good if you could take some mates with you... spend some time going out in chaweng beach on koh samui a couple of days before the party and you will be sure to meet plenty of other people who will be going over to the party aswell and will gladly assist in giving you the details of how to get there... enjoy, that is what life is all about :D

  7. i have been there once with a group of 15 friends (male and female) and had a great time and would recommend it for the experience of having been to see it... about 12,000 people when i was there, didnt have any problems and didnt see any problems, not to say not to take care...

probably wouldnt do it again because i am getting older, but i thoroughly enjoyed the experience of people watching... yes the younger generation letting down their hair in an atmosphere that they can enjoy... none of them caused any problems for us... i even saw quite a few groups of older people getting into the fun... and that is what it was... fun!!!

  8. Perhaps the people that associate Thailand as a place where they can do whatever they want, will be put off coming to Thailand in the future.

If you want to smoke dope, get drunk all night etc. Go to Spain.

    You do have a choice.

pretty close minded theory dont you think... i dont take any illegal drugs but i do like to go out on the weekend and drink... does that mean i should close my ligitimate businesses that i have spent years building here and move because they are implementing these rash new laws...

it affects everything, peoples jobs... if toursim is down investment will follow... it is not just about people partying, please consider the bigger picture...

  9. i was asking a few girls last night (seperately) on sms at 1am what they were up to and they all said they couldnt come because they were going to tonys...

...asked them if other places had closed already they said yes only tonys is open till 2:30...

...interesting to note that tonys has been allowed to open later than all the other establishments because they are running the "miss pattaya competition" ... how is this allowed... perfect to have everything else shut at 1am so all the girls in pattaya are in their establishment for the comp...

... i am all for the competition as i know the bar gilrs love this event to see who is voted the number one girl in the city... just wondering if those new licensing/zoning laws have already started down that end of walking street only :o

...anybody know anything further on this or know this for a fact because they were there too?

  10. Why don't you get a real job, one that actually contributes to society rather than just filling your pockets and stroking your ego as a big man crushing the small man

exactly why he wont answer the questions asked of him because as like his employers they dont care about society, only about how much money they can extort out of everyone to line their pockets and egos...

  11. You are ignorant and you can't spell, yet I'm the "dumb" one.

(that is, assuming you CAN read...based on your user name and icon, I'd peg you for, what, 12 or 13 years old?).

mate no need to get personal with people until you can substantially answer some of the real life questions that have been asked of you about your job, why you do it and why these people you work for cant ascertain the needs of the people buying the copy goods...

  12. The fine goes to the state, not the brand owner. These laws are meant to protect the public from being sold shoddy goods that are branded to look like they come from a respected manufacturer. Let me guess who'd be the first guy here to scream like a banshee if he bought a bottle of Johnny Walker Black Label at the grocery store and it turned out to be colored water? Intellectual property laws wouldn't be so much of a joke to you then, would they?

so who do you work for, thailand or the brand owners? ... and i dont believe the brand owners do not receive anything from the fine as you have stated... the copyright laws state exactly the opposite actually that the brand owners do receive part of the fine.

the point being the majority of people who buy these copy goods are in the know that they are buying them and want to buy them because of the savings they incurr... and the quality from what i have seen, and i have seen both versions real and copy... and the copy are pretty dam close...

not a real good analogy... but if i could buy copy JWB that tasted the same as the real thing or close to i would buy it... there is in fact copy baileys and kahlua (called other names) sold around the world... copies of the real thing but a lot cheaper, but unfortunately it tastes like crap...

still havent answered the previous questions above about them working together etc to fill this niche that there is so much of a demand for because people cant afford the real thing...

  13. and before you mention the next one... flaw not floor

so lets hear something positive about your job... why is it neccessary to grass these people up in there own country... you would think that the so called capitilists that you work for who all own filthy big houses and cars etc... much more so than these guys that run the factories whereever they are... would actually pull their fingers out and do something positive... like come to an agreement with them so the customers that they are supplying can still be supplied but they get a small kick back from them... this of course would mean they would have to share their already incredible wealth... but seems a more positive approach than trying to outlaw something that there is obviously a demand for because of certain economic restrictions...
