please explain how north Americans, Australians as well as some other countries would go about returning
There's a Thai Air flight to Sydney every Sunday evening, contact the Australian embassy to register for one of these flights.
Qatar Airlines flies a couple of days a week to various Australian destinations, mind you you may have to take out a 2nd mortgage to afford one of these and they go via Doha.
Cathay Pacific has been running flights from Bangkok to Australia via Hong Kong (might be a bit iffy on an Australian passport at the moment) and
I just heard Singapore Airlines is starting to fly Bangkok to Australia via Singapore.
Not sure about America or "other" countries but I hope this helps for anyone wanting to return to Oz.

I had some issues with the microwave causing the WIFI to drop out when in use. Did some checking on the internet and found that placing some tin-foil near the back of the microwave would help... and it did help. No more dropouts caused by the microwave.

When they enforced the "must have a degree" in anything to teach (for a work permit), they greatly reduced their access to good teachers. To compensate for low applications many dropped the requirement, must of an English language teaching certificate and relied only on a degree in anything. So getting teachers without qualifications. Our kids go to good schools in a big city and the teachers they have teaching English are at best a 5 out of 10.

Just wondering if they mean all foreigners, or just westerner foreigners? Asking for a friend.

Seems like a nice person.

Actually I've heard both... fat chance and slim chance... maybe it's just a simple difference in English language.

If a taxi says no to me then I always say thank you and look for another taxi... not worth stressing about.

I think the real problem is that they're listening to but not taking in, the advice from international community. Not that they every have.
Didn't something like this happen a few years back and many medium to large companies moved to other countries offering more "favorable" trading terms?
If some of the neighboring countries want to pick the lowest fruit for success... just do the opposite of what Thailand is doing.
I believe foreigners want to invest in Asia, China is very difficult, many of the other countries are maybe still a little behind in infrastructure so that leaves Thailand... who seems hell-bent on preventing this from happening here.

I'm thinking there must be more to this story... but not holding my breath for it to make any sense.

I see many Filipino staff in hotels and other businesses requiring English speaking office teams these days. Maybe you should try to locate a Filipino employment agency.
Some of the Thai people I know in high profile office positions are earning 45K up plus bonuses so they don't get head-hunted.

Not sure if anyone else noticed this or not... it looks like the ripped the leg off... not a very "surgical looking" removal. I hope the other end still attaching to the person is in better condition.

Yes with standard units over-sizing will lead to higher humidity in the area cooled.
With inverters they are most energy efficient at around 50 to 60% part load. Not sure about buying one over-sized though... what happens is once the area reaches temperature the compressor starts to slow down. Doing maintenance cooling is always cheaper on power than to let a space get hot then turn on the air conditioner to cool it down.
My office at home I set at 26 when I'm working, humidity seems to stay around 45%. And when I'm not working I leave the air set at 28. The humidity rises to around 60%.
This helps keep my office reasonably dry for the printer papers and books. I have a lot of different paper for my printers for brochures and immages etc and keeping them dry is a must.

Yeah I had the same problem... I just Googled how to install Skype without a Microsoft account and got this link... works a treat!

Our passports are our only form of ID for Thailand that can be used for legal things. I got upset with my bank (I had one account with them of 7 years) and I needed to open another account. They didn't want to see a copy of my passport but they needed to see the original.
Returning with my passport and showing it to the clerk... I noticed the Thai person sitting next to me opening a new account too... he was required to show his Thai ID card and his family card.
When I asked about this the bank told me that the new policy is they have to see the originals and make the copies for the bank to keep.
Thai people have to show their ID and family cards for many things... we're asked to show our Thai ID if we have and our passport... don't make a mountain out of nothing... just help them update their records, be friendly and smile... the next time you need something from them they will remember the
"nice" foreigner that is helpful and friendly.- 3

just did my 90 day run with my non "B". no problems and no questions. Wasn't asked to show WP. The only questions (which are always asked) where was I going. I just said "Pom bai bon, khup" They asked where was home and I told them. And that was at the army check point.

Last week it took me three tries the get a taxi from Mor Chit bus terminal and this was at 5am so traffic to my destination would not have been a problem for the driver. Though I must say I rarely have any issues about the meter any where in Krung Thep.

Former premier Yingluck Shinawatra ... sorry but isn't there a difference between a Premier and a Prime Minister?

It will depend on how old she is.
But seriously, I have a top loader and two twin tubs units. They all have their benefits. I like the twin tub (I have a small one in my apartment) as it's easier to do small loads.
We have a larger twin tub at the family home which is good for washing the heavier loads. (three grandsons is a good reason).
The top load automatic is good because you can load the laundry and when it's completed all you have to do is hang the clothes to dry.
Really it's all about what you like.
I do have a front loader in Australia which does save a lot on water, water is expensive there but here in Thailand not so much. But the only reason we bought the front loader was to save money on water.

If offered I take the stamps at 7/11 or TLE... I give them to the grandsons...
To complain about something so small would be a bit of a waste of time for me... maybe she needs the extra dosh to feed her family... do we really know her story?

A police check point near my apartment asked for my licence (I was driving my motorbike at the time) and my Passport. I started carrying the original about 6 months ago and keep a copy in my wallet, under the seat of my motorbike, and in my apartment... just in case I lose the original and just in case someone wants/needs a copy I have one for them.

One of the things I have seen while teaching English is that many Thai students can speak English. If they have a foreigner parent or Thai parents that can speak English they (the students) are often afraid to speak English at home as they are afraid to make a mistake.
What many students need is an English language coach. Someone who can help you child or children to "use the language" without fear. A good coach will use situational English for practice... kind of like using the language in situations where they will really use it.
A good coach will also help the student discover ways they can learn more or even teach themselves.
There's an English language coach working in Sutthisan area that coaches conversational English... the classes are packed. I help sometimes as my schedule permits.

There's some good answers here... everyone has their favorite and of course no one is wrong either.
I would like to make one more suggestion... you can get a lot of free themes ready to go. Woo eCommerce has a couple of free ones but some really good themes for sale that work well with their plugins and all the support you need.
The people that did my websites use themes from Elegant Themes... they also work well with Woo.
If you buy a theme and the pro version of Woo you'll have pretty good support from the companies and their forums... lots a people willing to help out with any issues you may have.
Wishing you the best of success!

Their fear that someone might actually make a profit from doing business in Thailand will always trump their decision process.
