  1. id like to bring in a barbecue from barbecues galore in perth to bkk. will I have any trouble with the gas hoses or regulators. thanks.

barbeque galore have an agent in bangkok

yes iv been there soi39 I think. some good looking gear in there, but the same barbecue in bkk to aussie is nearly 3 times the cost.

Think again. Import duty+ shipping costs.

  2. why run away if it was all 'false'?

Making false accusations & implicating innocent people has got it's limits I suppose.Probably undone whatever good work he was originally setting out to do.

I for one don't care much for him, good riddence , but I'm also happy for the sake of his children that he probably took them out of harm's way.

  3. U see now u r confused

You moved to a new area where there is loud music and for some reason you are complaining about the ark bar even though the people

    U have a problem

With is not the ark bar at all because u have moved

If you are stressed I suggest boxing lessons

You do make me laugh Big C. I didn't move anywhere laugh.png lived in an area for several years then an illegal night club opened.

I own my property, can't sell & move as you suggest to all the others, what should I do?

Re my comment about moving, all I said was it was an old cliche to tell someone :

If you don't like it go home.

  4. I don't need to go anywhere, I have no problem..I'm happy here you are obviously not

If you have a problem with something then move out or go to your home please

I only think this place great..I also knew about chaweng before I moved to samui.

I don't think Thai people welcome people like you..

Do you people just sit at home writing complaint letters..

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Move out or go to your home? What are you talking about?

You feel comfortable where you are because you are blessed with quietness, which you obviously appreciate.

Why don't you think before you post such garbage, as long as I'm OK I don't care about the others.

I don't care about the effect the noise has on normal working people, their kids that have to go to school, the elderly etc..........

Not only tourists are this island, you fail to appreciate the normal population point of view.

What a selfish attitude , a sad reflection of some of the so called visitors to this country.

So are you telling me that when you moved to your address there was not ark bar already there???

If it was already there then what gives you the right to move to a place where there are already night clubs then tell them to close or turn their music down

What if I was to move next to you and say I don't like you children waking me up in the morning when they go to school

And I want u to move house

You would honk I am a cookoo clock

Cookoo you are, Honk Honk. I can understand your spelling difficulties, but please try to improve your reading comprehension.

Please read my post again, it is directed to the other poster's remarks.

Also yes I live in a quiet area, now invaded by loud , unlicensed loud music.

What is your advice Big C ?

Should I also sell up & move?

    Buy ear muffs?

Build a fence with sound proofing?

Yes 2 can play at your game of being silly.

    Awaiting your precious advice.

  6. Rob you obviously know nothing of the diving industry. Where are the potential customers going to go them ? Phuket side is only 6 months of the year whereas here it is all year. I have a work permit so am not worried as do all in the shop I work in but there are many freelance instructors who simply can't afford to get legal. I also think there will be far more people on Samui effected by this new clampdown than Tao. Not those working without a permit just those who live there and have property, car, bike etc. but living there visa running down to Penang. I personally know far more people on Samui who are crapping themselves than here on Tao.

Lanfd wise I have said for the last decade you can't buy land on Tao due to the land title deeds.

I think Rob knows quite well what he is talking about. Regardless you are wanting people to be concerned about illegal workers on Tao & people abusing the visa system on Samui.

These people on Samui you are so concerned about, know quite well they were taking a gamble bending the rules, why should they be in such a shock now?

These changes have been on the horizon for a while, several topics about it on Thaivisa, why didn't they take heed & get their affairs in order?

I apologize if I sound harsh, but they decided to take the gamble, knowing full well it wasn't the correct way to do things.

  7. No exit. I would have had to be a regular to exit. If y'all don't like the article close the thread.

Sent from my Lenovo S820_ROW using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

You wonder why everyone is a little upset with you. I don't think it's the topic or the article, we can all have a laugh at the poor reporting. It is your attitude & responses to members.

Look at your replies to Birdman & your excuses, why are you so defensive? Then you proceed to rubbish the forum, a " snake pit" come on.

Anyway KPG full moon party is what it is, young people enjoy it, I do not think you will.

Have you ever been to KPG? Just wondering. I mean why take the trouble to post an article from an obscure site except for Americans. I suppose you knew full well it will raise the ire of the locals.

What were you expecting? Pats on the back?

I know why you posted this article, it's just pay back because we don't have Baht buses like in Pattaya.

  8. RJD totally concur with your post and, if TV rule 3 has been violated (having read rule 3, I cannot understand its relevance in this context anyway) why was this thread not closed at the outset?

OK sorry, offtopic.gif.pagespeed.ce.ifZtFTWxj3.png my last post on this thread.

So glad to see you back sweetie, was getting worried.licklips.gif

  9. Great response, I can only apologise that you found difficulty in interpreting the english language. Perhaps that's why you obfuscate my words and critical opinion bearing as an emotional retort.

Once again, keep your sarcasm and ad hominen to yourself, I'd prefer to debate an issue on it's merits or lack thereof.

  10. Driving & police checks are a lottery. You want to take a chance do so by all mean. as for pre warning help save lives as one poster said, what a silly statement

    .

You want to save a life ask people to obey the law & wear a helmet. There are no choices here , it is mandatory, just because it is not enforced that doesn't mean you don't have to do it.

But that is common sense & abiding by the law of the land, but what am I saying?

This is something a lot of people on this island lack, common sense & as one poster stated, not fond of authority, perhaps that just shows what type of people they are.

Dear Sir, not being fond of authority is your prerogative, perhaps apply that type of thinking next time you are in trouble & you need the authorities help. Oh no what am I saying? You are one of the tough ones that can look after one self. I pity you.

As for random checks that's what they are, you want to warn someone, please do so, at the end of the day you sound like a little kid at school, when they are all misbehaving & you are the lookout laugh.png .

That thread does not even warrant all these posts, but I suppose it's entertainment for the bored,so called renegadesbiggrin.png few to flex their muscles knowledge.

Let it be, ride away, helmet or not Up To You as they say. A gambler? Take the chance.

Im glad you decided to voice your opinion and participate in this " thread does not even warrant all these posts".

You started to make some valid points, but that quickly digressed into a diatribe of bigotry, fueled by a malformed superiority complex.

Your use of [ad hominen] is unwarranted, not useful, and shows your inept ability to engage in debate logically with critical thinking and reasoning.

It is obvious to most of us that there are clear dangers associated with non-helmet use. That isn't the argument here, please stick to the core points of the issue:-

Is it illegal, immoral, unjust or even irresponsible to share such information as in th OP.

I argue that it isn't, freedom of expression, speech and action in accordance with the law is just and should be tolerated regardless of your presumptuous assertions of a foul motive.

Oh poor little petal got all upset & using a dictionary to vet his anger & with real big words.sorry.gif

Good on you, keep up the good work & the great spotting.Keep us all informed , it makes me feel real fuzzy inside that someone cares enough.

    Thank you very much.

  12. Having tried to sell a property , I contacted several estate agents on the island.Talk about non qualified , arrogant, unprofessional bunch. Never met anyone like them, do not return calls, not keep appointments.

In most countries you have to qualify to become one, here don't make me laugh.

From the biggest names on the island to the small ones all the same & they ask for stupid commissions.

Would understand justifying the commission if they qualified prospective customers or had knowledge of the house they are selling. These people are just cowboys.

    Sad bunch of people.

  13. Some of the comments here are beyond belief.Want to see what reaction you will have if you loose someone from an accident , by someone driving the wrong way.

If someone jumps of a bridge you don't have to follow suit just because they did. True about most people leave their brains in neutral when they get here.

  14. Lack of facts & truth are creating the debate. The fact that donations are required to help poor Ryan are raising certain issues.

Unfortunatly which ever way you look at it, Julie is providing a sevice, she harnesses the community resources ( customers ) & derives an income from the service she provides.

This could have all been settled with a simple statement , being in the right or wrong, this whole issue would have settled down.

Nothing wrong with people wanting to know the truth, and as a SERVICE provider to maintain ones integrity , reputation & obligation to your customers at large, the first thing to do is to be forthcoming with the facts.

Remember I did quote her own words in a previous post, just in case you missed them , here they are again:

    Posted 2008-04-09 12:29:48

With nothing to hide I can post in my name, correct? Julie

Is there any good news? Gossip makes bad news,

didn't get that back home, think not. We need facts. As an ex special constable

I have witnessed many misfortunes back home but have to determine liability -

    proof - truth - fact.
