As to why Julie does not post here, it could be that she realizes that this avenue of discourse adds nothing to the situation except innuendo, nonsense, speculation and misinterpretation.
"Why doesn't so-and-so post here!? Don't they know who we are?? We control whether their business succeeds or not!" - Maybe they don't post because a large segment of local expats and even more tourists couldn't care less about an Internet forum. Hey, I care. But it still took me years to get one current sponser to get involved with it. But the fact remains a small percentage of expats and visitors know this place even exists.
She had a lot to say back then

Beng I , I think it has been sold. A development resembling Niki Beach to replace it. I could stand corrected.
i heard the same, but a slight different concept , not to sure how it will fit in with the Bang Rak scene
Perhaps Spumante or Passion Pop could replace the Moet Chandon?

Spot on Carmine.
I live mid-way between Melati and Sixth Sense, and most fireworks in this area are set off by.......
..............Melati and Sixth Sense.
And as you say - I would happily put up with 15 mins of fireworks every day if it meant getting rid of the new Black Moon Party venue. How the people living down near Plai Laem beach put up with I'll never know.
Is one night per month really that bad to deal with?
You are either an overseas visitor or not a local to that area. See how you feel when you are sober & trying to sleep.

Just got back from Ao Nang. Not a first time visitor, but I think I won't be going back real soon. Great pity as I loved the area, just can't believe you can't walk 10 metres without being harassed by different people. On the beach road area massage people, main street shop owners & restaurant staff.
Another question is there any Thai owners around the place? Any Thai owners in all these restaurants? Nick nack shops? Italian restaurants that serve Italian & Indian?
I get harassed enough by Indian / Nepalese tailors in different areas of Thailand, but this has taken it up quit a few notches. How do they get their work permits?Foreigners working retail shops?
The feeling I got was, spend your money & get out. Pity a great place gone.

Wouldn't it be the sensible thing to come down & check them all out. It's a rather big decision to be made via recommendations only.
What suits someone might not necessarily suit you.

In answer to the OP. Plurks that come here and want to make it just like it is where they came from. Cos its for the better.
And that ever present good-old-not-so-healthy sense of superiority that they have over the locals and local ways.
How true.
Visa Run Crash

I suppose this is precisely why people need to be informed. With all due respect all the anonymous readers on this forum as you mention , are also locals who do use these services.SecondlyIf anyone needs to know what happened with insurance you say ring Julie?
As of Julie's previous post in her own words mind you in defence of another Visa run company which had an accident. wise words at the time & the whole post might have been just a propaganda stunt for her.
Now if she took the time & trouble to defend someone else why can''t they just tell the truth? These are her own words up there. so if you are protecting her, good on you. but who is protecting her customers?
Obviously there wasn't sufficient cover if you still have to ask for donations. I pity Ryan & I hope he gets better.
