Wonder how that will go down with the main shareholder of SCB, who recently bought the Bitkub crypto exchange.

I was diving around the islands off Koh Phi Phi in the mid 90's. On one dive with an Aussie dive master, only the two of us, we came across a small box like jellyfish. She told me that she was pretty sure that it was an Irunkanji and poisonous. I had never heard of them before. Name always stuck with me.
There is lots of footage of box jelly around Sail Rock and Koh Tao on YouTube.

How are the nets in Chaweng....and the vinegar stations?
There used to be a net at Ozone, not sure if it is still there. In Lamai there is a net at Lamai Kwanta.

Because Box jellys are a rising issue with warming waters.. They were not sighted a couple of decades back, very very rare a decade back, and hence its a rising problem.
Yes they were, as already pointed out. Local fisherman and older local people are very well aware of box jelly fish. They have seen them around Samui waters since very long times. Most incidents 'back in the day' were not recorded, or at least not as box jelly stings.

He was sacked for participating in the protests and Grab disagreed with his political opinion and sacked him, it was nothing to do with covid , it was about politics
Maybe read the headline again, it was Foodpanda and not Grab.

Yes but I have seen night dives on offer everywhere I have been to, and this little man seems to dislike that. Frankly I suspect he's never been in the water without his Peppa Pig arm floats.
Fully agree that night diving is a regular part of diving in general and is offered world wide.

Divers should leave bubbles only.
No touching of any creatures whilst under water. As a sample, the puffer fish that he handled, blows itself up and it's a sign of severe distress which can very easily lead to death for the puffer fish.
The Phangan and Thai dive community is not condoning these actions at all.
Divers should observe and not touch anything underwater. All leading recreational diving organizations have this in their course training curriculum's.
In this specific case, it doesn't matter that the person is a foreigner/Westerner, he/they should not have handled the creatures. Period.
On the other hand, I wonder what kind of expert this person is, night diving is a big part of the dive business all over the world, including Thailand. Not all creatures rest, some wake up and feed during the night time. You can see different creatures at night compared to the day time.

WHY just because they can or is there some logic behind the decision?
Hope this isn't the case with other Marathons this year as I want enter a few!
Chiang Mai marathon is considering entry for expats as of 1st October.
A 100km trail run only for Thais and only 20-60 years old.
Unless there will be ministerial level interference, this will continue. -
Any suggestions where I can get tahini on Samui. Thx.

Just got back from renewing my driver's licenses and thought I'd provide an update as what the procedures are.
Wear long pants! They will NOT allow you to renew wearing shorts. You will need a letter of address confirmation from Immigration. To get the letter from Immigration, you will need a photo. This is for each license. I have both motorcycle and car licenses, so I needed 2 letters, therefore, 2 photos. You will need a medical certificate for each license. I use the clinic opposite K-bank in Nathon; 150 baht per certificate. The doctor speaks excellent English and is very friendly. You will need photocopies of all of the relevant pages of your passport for each license. Application is made at window #1 at the Transport office in Lipa Noi. Assuming that your paperwork is in order, they will send you upstairs for a depth perception and reaction time test. Upon passing the tests, you go downstairs to window #2, then wait to be called for a photo. No big deal and everyone was very friendly.
Do you have a work permit? If you have a work permit, do you still need a letter of address?
What are the 'relevant' pages of your passport. Picture page only or visa page as well? -
I've been pointed out the TM30 about 5 years by Surat Thani immigration and my wife who is the 'landlord' with whom I live together, is registered since 5 years on this site. Don't think updated the page since those 5 years.
Lost interest after I visited immigration to tell them I got back from an overseas trip. They initially had no idea what I was going on about and eventually told me it was not needed. -

Just noticed the other day that sadly the Swiss Chalet restaurant on the corner in downtown Lamai where the one way stops/ends, has closed it's doors. Always good food to be had there!
Around the corner is a good Swiss bakery!
There are plenty of German and Swiss restaurants around the island. My dedicated 'Samui info and weather blog' has various blog posts about German and Swiss eateries which I'm not allowed to post, but you should now be able to find inspiration for a Google search or pm me.

In general I oppose the death penalty, although all convicted persons must have known that Indonesia has drastic drug laws. 'If you can't do the time, don't do the crime' comes to mind.
What upsets me most however, is that one of the main Bali bombers has been pardoned but the current death row drug traffickers are not being pardoned. Some serious inconsistency by the Indonesian government and it's 'hardline' president.- 4
