Surely walking thousands of miles to be held captive for 1 month is obviously better than staying in their own country, risking what they call suffering ,torment and life endangerment!

Seems to me they have  three choices  1. Staying 2. claiming asylum in the first country they enter! 3. walking thousands of miles, through all sorts of inhumanity to enter a country illegally ,give themselves up,claiming asylum to be rewarded with facing 3 squares, roof and medical attention and after 1 month they are brought in front of a judge to be given a continuance ,they are given money and a bus ticket to anywhere USA!

How many people from other countries beside the triangle are joining in,last check over 50!

My credit union in the states told me the only way to make a wire transfer to an overseas bank was to telephone their office and set it up. This cannot be made a recurring event -- you have to call every month. I do not know why they think telephones are "more secure" than my regular connection to my account. Several government offices I have to deal with feel the same way. They want you to telephone. The nice service representative also told me I should look up "Automated Clearing House," which led me to Transferwise, which has worked fine since February. The fee is a few cents less than a wire transfer would cost, but it normally takes four or five days for the money to arrive. Oh, I use Bangkok Bank, too, and when I update my bank book the FFT code has always been there. Not many transactions yet, but I feel confident they will get it right. I can't imagine why you continue to use Wells Fargo, which has been caught cheating millions of their customers for years.

I stated on another thread the verification gods at Capital One are taking it to higher levels. I used google voice in the past,They don't consider that a legit phone system. They txt a 5 numbered code to the GV and it disappears  in a nano second, they claimed it was for security purposes. I noticed the OP mention frustration with codes through the phone. It's a blessing when they send it through a device they give you or through email.

I understand the Op's  frustration! Thailand and the USA banking system are wrecking havoc with us  ,thank you 9/11

I don't see what your link has to do with the topic.  Military parades following war victories are traditional, as is military participation in parades during Presidential inaugurations.  Military parades during the Fourth of July are not traditional, unnecessary, expensive, and ruin the holiday for the military members required to participate.  How is that patriotic?

Furthermore, the main objections aren't to the addition of military hardware or flyovers during the celebration, it is the politicization of the celebration.  That is both unpatriotic and illegal.

    I wouldn't think you would!

"intended partly to raise civilian awareness of the military so a parade featuring the latest military hardware and marchers from every branch of military service " .

    https://militarybenefits.info/military-parades/

Most importantly IMOP to install a sense of pride and patriotism  the strongest and most powerful nation in the world has endured for over 200 plus years . This is part of MAGA,values from the past .

  5.  The hate by left media has triggered all the TDS'ers .Their on sick display again !  They get triggered with a American flag logo's on the back of a shoe! They get triggered at standing for the Anthem! Through the years, American's have celebrated America  with Parades of soldiers and equipment.

That's what MAGA is all about, the patriotism of the  past. The anti American left wants to destroy from with in,divide and conquer. Bring it on ,Independent voters are watching you.

This president praises America and gets called a traitor. The military would defend this President as opposed to the sad choices that are running on the other side.

Thanks, this looks very interesting. I was looking into another internet bank since I don't need B&M bank such as my BOA with their high fees.

I was looking into NFCU, SDFCU, USAA and PenFed. I currently have Ally, Schwab and BOA. Any other bank or CU do you recommend?

How is Schwab working out for you ,does voice recognition satisfy their security gods ? Have you ever had problems verifying yourself?

Not since Kim announced that North Korea had completed its nuclear force and had weapons and delivery systems capable of hitting all of the mainland US.

Are you giving Trump credit for that?

So we and our allies in the region are screwed.

I have no idea what your talking about ?Everybody knows the threat was aimed at Japan and the USA.  I said ,No more ICBM flying over Japan. The Japanese can live without fear.Mr. Trumps diplomacy with Kim and XI,has done more for detente then all the past POTUS combine

It was Kims Dad that made all the agreements last time .

Kim has yet to make and break an agreement .

When the previous deals were made , NK has the backing of China , Russia and various other nations .

These days . NK is pretty much isolated and cannot rely on China for support if it went to war with the USA .

Working towards denunclearistaion is an agreement to work towards denuclearisation .

NK did agree to work towards denuclearizeation which is the same as what Trump said

How long has it been since Japan stopped looking up to the sky! Not knowing if their number one nemesis through out the years would pay a nuke visit, Mr. Trump  sure has eased tensions .

I'm in the states preparing to come back .Maybe I spoke to soon! I tried to add another  outside bank to link with Capitalone banking.I was under the impression Cap1 sent codes to verify who you are through email, sad, they stopped doing that, sad. I have a google voice number,it won't recognize voip numbers! I had to call customer service they attempted to send a code through google voice several times, the txt code comes through but disappears in two seconds(new security measure with 5 digit codes by banks). They switched me over to either a MGR or the fraud dept. He sent a email with a link for me to take a picture of my passport using my phone and uploading it to him. Presto I'm verified.

I started asking questions about doing  future transactions online while out of the country. He tells me I would have to go through 2 way verification and that was the only way.I have to call back tomorrow to get a second persons answer! If that is the case ,how the hell can one fund their account!

I spoke to another person in the security dept of Cap1 .He assured me that I will be able to carry on as usual in Thailand  as long as I have a Internet connection! They have  a difficult time verifying me right here in the states.

This probably won't make any difference to those who are set in their views of 'reds under the bed' but I have been to Russia many times, know many Russians and have friends there still. Most Americans who trash Russia and Putin think it's a cold place with long queues for food etc. It used to be like that in Soviet days and then Yeltsin arrived (or stumbled more like) and the place was a shambles. Putin is no angel, obviously, but I can tell you Russia as stormed ahead under his leadership. More importantly, Russians, generally, support and love him. He turned Russia around and THAT is a fact.

Before I began my visits (whilst Yeltsin was in power then for many years after Putin arrived) I believed much what most of you believe, what the press told me. I found it to be wrong. Russians like a strong leader, it's in their culture, and I know many snowflaky Americans might not like it but it has proved very successful. It makes ultimate sense for Russia (China too) and dear 'Ole USA to have friendly relations but it's not helped by the spurious MSM (particularly CNN) trashing them at every opportunity with 'Russia meddling' nonsense 'as if' USA never meddles in other countries.

Russians are warm people with a huge heritage in the Arts and Sciences. You would think, in this new millennium, we could cooperate and thrive as one humanity. Before USA lectures Russia on 'how to live' it needs to sort out its own huge problems with shootings every other week, people dying daily from drug overdoses and one half of America hating the other half. I think most of it is pure brainwashing and so many lap it up!  it's, it's, it's, the Reds and of course it's all their fault!

I remember when I was a kid in school! I much preferred the fire drills as opposed to the air raid drills.Back in the day the USSR,communism  and their  nuke missiles were being drilled in our heads! I lived in Miami during the Cuban missile crisis! We lived in some very scary times back then. Real fear!

I often wished we could have got along.  The media and the dems sure have propagandized this current situation!  They keep on dividing America with their constant drilling of Russia Russia nonsense !

Propaganda and the thirst for power never changes! Someone once said the media will be the down fall of western civilization!

found some good advise in this thread!

Capitalone not needing a travel notification, being able to get more money if you ask a teller inside as opposed to a daily limit at a ATM

Also that some banks and CC companies allow a Thai address along with a US address.

I wonder if the aim is for tourists to return to their home country and apply there. As the OP says, the Elite Visa is an option so the door hasn't been firmly closed.

That doesn't make sense . Once they come to a Thai airport ,IO's still refuse people with all the necessary requirements from thai embassies and consulates in their own countries

    You only need one appointment.

The Amphoe just wants a embassy stamp on a copy of your passport photo page. The embassy will do the copy. The Amphoe may also want a translation of your photo page done.

    Just the completed "marriage affidavit".

And $50 or 1650 baht for each service.

    Thanks Joe

They will do a certified copy of your passport.

Free if needed for something to with the US government. If not it will be $50 to get it done.

You will need to make an appointment for notarial services.

    See: https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/local-resources-of-u-s-citizens/notaries-public/

I had to make a appointment for the affidavit for being single! I was under the impression one doesn't have to do multiple notary appointments for two services. Correct me if I'm wrong.  There is a possibility that the Amphor up here wants a passport verification, that I am who I am. So from the embassy only,I  need the completed affidavit form  for single, completed copy of appointment page , a copy of my passport picture page and payment ?
