You can check out the replies to my similar question here:
http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/824899-family-resort-near-ubon-ratchathani/
Seems like it is difficult to find such a place near/in Ubon. Tohsang Mehkong fulfills all your requirements, though, but is a bit further away and also pricey.

Anyone knows any resort around Ubon Ratchathani suitable for a weekend trip with the family (kids 2-4 years old)?
I found a recommendation in another thread http://www.castle-howchow.com but it is not that near and probably the kids will not like the salt water there.
For the kids we would need any kind of pool and at least a garden, preferably a sandbox or even a playground.
Is there anything around in the region?

And how do you get it in Thailand?

I think central online have the Zen 5 for 5290bIs there any release date here in Thailand ?, looking mid March to buy one for my wife for her birthday, she has said she would be happy with the zenfone 5 maybe the price on the zenfone 5 will drop soon.
Yep here : http://www.central.co.th/p/สมาร์ทโฟน-asus-รุ่น-zenfone-5-สีฟ้า
Unfortunately this is only the older and slower version with the Z2560 processor. Anyone knows if you can get the new version with the Z2580 in any of the bigger branches in Thailand?

Very disappointing that the phone only has 1GB RAM, with 2GB if would have been mine!

Instead of a certificate of residency you can also use your work permit.
Furthermore I recommend the driving license office in det Udom, always quick and easy for me.

I am not so sure yet what to do with my boy this weekend. I think he would enjoy the flight show at Wing 21 very much, but I expect half the populace of the region there, so would like to avoid it. I know that the Fort Sapphasitprasong Hospital in Warin is doing something as well. Has anyone been there for Children's Day yet and can tell me if it is worth a visit?

No, it's still on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) but I think i-mobile may push out updates as they seem quite determined to get some of the Samsung market share.
Do not keep your hopes up too much for any android updates. If you want a newer version, you may have to get a new model ;-)
In my opinion android 4.2 is already well done and I am not missing anything from 4.3 or 4.4

Had a china no-brand I bought at Pontip... way too many problems. Want some better quality for my money.Sent from my MyPhone A919 Duo using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
Thl is one of the more well known brands in China. There are many happy owners of the w8 (see the XDA forums), including me, because of the good build quality. As I said before, the a919i looks almost the same, with equal specs, so expect the same quality. The iqx might be a step up though.

USB - otg on the a919i must be a mistake, the mtk chipset does not support it, as far as I know.
If you Google "a919i usb on the go" you get lots of hits, make of it what you will.
You are correct, there is even a YouTube video demonstrating it! Never seen this on any mtk phone before though.

The a919i looks very similar to the Thl w8, which I ordered about half a year ago from China for around 6000 Baht. Specs are exactly the same. I am sure you can get it for much cheaper atm, or an advanced version of it for the same price. USB - otg on the a919i must be a mistake, the mtk chipset does not support it, as far as I know.
If you are not willing to order from China then I suggest to check out the i-mobile iqx. You can get it for around 6-7000 Baht atm. Slightly smaller, but amazing build quality, screen and camera, also very light.

One other observation: since the hard drive is essentially running 24x7, I think it's worthwhile to get a hard drive which runs quietly. In my case, I luckily bought a WD Green hard drive, which I discovered later is designed for this purpose.
Actually, the Green version is not designed for 24x7 use, the Red version is. So be a bit careful if you have any recordings you do not want to lose.
I myself have a similar setup, but turn the hard drive off when not in use, which is easy to do when you have a docking station (contrary to the True solution). Before turning off the power you should go to Menu->Setup->Remove external drives first though. Give your drive some hard-earned rest at least during the night or when you are out of the house

You can also get the phone at Tesco, they have a promotion for 8500 Baht if I remember correctly. You will also get an extra 500 Baht shopping voucher.

How about MyPhoneExplorer?
-
Sounds like Khorat zoo is better. More to see -finished, cheaper admission, golf cars at 300bt the same...BUT you also have free admission to the water park -the kids love it!
But it's not a convenient day out with the kids if you live in Ubon :-)

For most of the phones they Do not offer OTA updates, you have to go to an i-mobile shop to let the staff update it for you. There is a new firmware available for the iq1. No idea about the improvements, but it does not upgrade the Android version.
-
Currently there is actually no reason to buy the IQ6 when you can get the IQX for only slightly more money.
-
I just want to share the reply from Truevisions Customer Service to my problem here:
"You can buy second hard disk drive and switch between them. However, please do not connect the hard disk drive to your computer because doing so will format your hard disk and delete all the programs recorded in it.
If you have any question, please e-mail or call us at 0-2725-2525 between 08:00 – 22:00 hours."
So it seems it should not be a problem to switch between several hard disks. Maybe I will try it then soon myself.
Connecting the hard drive to the computer is no problem either, as long as you are not stupid enough to answer yes when it wants to format the disk Linux can read the contents easily but not play it. So it is of no use anyway.

Has anyone been there lately? Any new animals to see or other changes?

Nice, but at that price I would buy a Nexus 4
Unfortunately you cannot get a Nexus 4 for that price, at least here in Thailand.
True, but it has been discussed at length at this forum how to relatively easy buy one from the US using shipito.
It will still be more expensive than the IQX. And do not forget that for many people 8GB ROM like in the Nexus will not be enough, so the IQX has the added advantage of an microSD slot. Or you have to buy the 16GB Nexus, which makes it even more expensive...

That's what I guessed. Can you get the new firmware at i-mobile shops? And any idea what the improvements are?

Anyone knows what is up with the different ROM versions they are talking about on http://droidfriend.com/forums/index.php?topic=1051.0 ? On the wife's phone is v16, in the forum they are talking about v20 already. What is the difference? My Thai is not good enough to get any informations there...

IQ5.1 is the one I have;for me I don't mind the poorer quality screen as the computing power is always the limiter, plus it has a 1gb of ram, while the cheaper ones only have 512mb.
What are you using the quad core for, especially considering the low resolution?
