  1. <p>This video should be removed from TV and youtube. i'm not sure the family would want he whole world to see there mother, sister or aunt be stabbed in a alley way.its disgusting that TV let this be shown and then delete other minor things.disgusting if you ask me.showing this video can not help catch the killers in anyway %2

I agree. The video is inappropriate for this forum.

Totally agree 100%. I replied to an earlier question as to who put it up. A. the editor of a news source we cannot mention. Nuff said.

Everyone does need to ask : what human benefit comes from watching the video ? And does anyone care about the feeling of the grieving relatives ?

To be honest, as a falang woman considering visiting Phuket in November, I did watch it. Not to be disrespectful of the women or their families, but to see what I need to be watching out for. I couldn't quite tell how she was wearing her purse strap from that clip. Was it slung over one shoulder, or did she have it slung across her chest? Does that make a difference for these purse snatchers?

  2. I'm sure others will be of more use than I would be.

On the photo front I was looking to purchase images for a web site and sales material yesterday, I looked at Itsockphoto & Fotolia and honestly the images are so bland and same same, maybe if your inclined you could create some decent content and make a few pounds at the same time.

    Best of luck

Actually, I am an Exclusive iStock photographer, and I most likely will be adding to my portfolio with the photos I take on this trip. Got any examples of the kind of stuff you're looking for?

  3. Hello everyone! After much delay, I've finally booked my airline tickets and will be in flying into Bangkok in November. I'm staying for 6 weeks (currently waiting for my passport / tourist visa to come back from the Consulate-General).

The only plans I have so far are for being in Chiang Mai for the Loi Krathong and Yi Peng festivals, and visiting with friends in Phen.

I don't want to get stuck so much in the tourist trap areas, though I will probably check a few of them out briefly. I take daily medication that I cannot mix with alcohol, so drinking is not on the menu. I want to spend my time visiting amazingly beautiful locations (both natural and architectural) that photograph well. I also want to see more of the authentic Thai culture that hasn't been so influenced by other parts of the world.

Lastly, what would be the cheapest and safest way to navigate around the country? Train?

    Thanks much!

  4. Thanks for the response.

Yes, I would be interested in a driver/guide/interpreter. It would be just me, and I would be covering transportation, lodging, meals and expenses. I could work 500 bhat per day into the budget. I think I'd like a somewhat planned itinerary. I may want to stay a little longer at certain places to ensure I get good lighting for my shots (sunrises, sunsets etc), so I'd like the schedule to be somewhat flexible.

  5. Hello,

Does anyone have any recommendations for a private guide that can speak both English and Thai? I am looking into doing a 30 day tour of Thailand to take photographs. I'd like to visit all sorts of visually stunning locations; beaches, waterfalls, gardens, rural areas, villages, cities, temples and so on. I'm hoping that I can find a guide who will stick with me for the entire trip.

Would October be a good month to try this sort of trip? I've been reading that it's the end of the monsoon season. -- I'd make sure my gear was waterproofed.

Any other tips or advance you can offer would be great! Thanks for your time.
