I have done that twice in the last 3 years although a number of local expats thought it was risky (or even illegal). I had a passport issued in November 2019 and left it until June 2020 (expiry date of old passport and one year extension) to have the information transferred. Then I had a passport issued in December 2022 and left it until June 2023 to have the data transferred. Immigration (Surin) didn't even comment.

I received a replacement passport (for one that was issued with an error) which I took to Immigration (Surin) to have data transferred at the time I needed to extend my stay (May 2023). Immigration effected a 90 day report at the same time (without being asked) so my next report date is 22nd August 2023. I submitted the TM47 on-line last Thirstday (10th) morning and have only received an acknowledgement to date. As has been reported, the site is currently down.

I had a red stamp back in 2001 from Aranyapratet office (2 days late for a multiple entry border crossing). Next time leaving at the airport I was pulled by Immigration about it and "reprimanded". There was no further penalty but as I was holding two passports at the time I returned back on the other one.

It's all exciting fun days here in Surin! Around 16:30 today my wife answered my telephone as it was an "unknown" number. The lady said she was from Kap Cheong Immigration and wished to check my passport number. My wife, being terrified of scammers, would not tell her and hung up. She would go to Surin Immigration tomorrow to check the authenticity of the call. I rang the number back and asked her to tell me my passport number (I received acceptance of my 90 day report application only yesterday). She couldn't give me the number but asked if it was acceptable for Immigration Police to call to my house. No problem, I said (I have only a little to hide). 30 minutes ago a squad car pulled up outside our house and three Police Officers were at the gate! Apparently, they have had problems and their data was corrupt/out of date. It was sorted within minutes and they left to visit the other 149 Farangs which were on their list. It certainly gave the neighbours something to talk about!

I submitted mine after pressing "auto renew". All except the "visa" expiry date was filled in automatically (as per the last 8 or so times). It appears that there is a new kid looking after on-line applications in Surin who doesn't understand the word "mandatory". A friend submitted his application on-line last week without the "visa" expiry date and it was approved.

I applied on-line yesterday at 11:00 am (due 9th April). At 15:00 I received a rejection email because I hadn't entered my visa (I presume they mean extension) expiry date. The on-line form does not require this as mandatory but I re-applied immediately and this time entered my extension expiry date (June). The application was acknowledged but I've heard no more since. Surin Immigration.

I never really bother about the reminders. My on-line calendar informs me when I am within 14 days of my actual report date and I normally submit the following day. It's become so simple and takes virtually no time at all with the latest system, that I really don't care if I have to report six times a year (however unnecessary it may be).

Should I carry passport with me all the time?
Yorkie replied to parafareno's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I actually renewed my licence in Prasat because I saw my <deleted> with the attitude of Surin DLT. However, the following day I obtained the pink ID. [Edit: for <deleted> read "bottom"]
