  1. It's an ID issued to foreigners. It's not mandatory but I was required to have one to renew my driving licence in Surin just last year. Prasat DLT only 30 km down the road (still in Surin Province) did not require one.
  2. I've travelled extensively in Europe, America, Africa and Asia for over 50 years and never lost a passport or had one stolen.
  3. It is my understanding that ID cards are mandatory for Thais 16 years and above. Up until 16 years old they are optional.
  4. Maybe. Depending upon the mood of the officer. I carry my driving licence and pink ID with me whenever I'm away from my house and a copy of my passport and current extension is always in my truck. I carry my passport should I leave the province. Not a major inconvenience.
  5. "Government issued photo ID". In the case of a foreigner, would that be Thai government issued ID or the foreigner's "home" government issued ID?
  6. At the present time, Immigration have either failed to notice or don't care. The bank took my word for it that the name on my passport was incorrect and accepted my explanation. It was the hospital that initially picked it up when requested to provide my COVID vaccination "passport". Two vaccinations were recorded under my correct name and one was recorded under the incorrect name shown on my passport.
  7. Back in March this year I advised Her Majesty's Passport Office in UK that they had issued my latest passport (my seventh) with my name spelt incorrectly. It took until July to convince HMPO that I could not return said incorrectly issued passport for re-issue as I was required to carry my passport "at all times" in Thailand as proof of identity. (HMPO are perfectly aware (or should be aware) of this rule in Thailand but they procrastinated their acceptance of it). HMPO eventually agreed that I could return the previous, cancelled, passport together with another application (without payment obviously). It is now almost December and I have only received confirmation that the replacement passport is being "processed".
  8. That is lightning fast compared with the backlog in UK for passports. I've been waiting for a replacement passport from HMPO Liverpool since early March!
  9. I'm not sure that this is plain English but..... Log on to their "new" website here: https://tm47.immigration.go.th/tm47/#/login You should get this: If you haven't got an account then you will need to apply. I can't remember the rest of the application process but it was pretty straight forward. Once you've applied you will get an email with your password. Back to the login page where you enter your email address and the password provided. Then input that "capture" thingy set of letters. You should then see the login page, viz: Complete the form using the dropdown boxes for "nationality" and the dates. Ignore the "contact person" stuff. Tick the red box and then you will be able to proceed. Press "submit" and you should receive an acknowledgement email almost immediately advising that your submission is "Pending". After a day or so you will receive an email advising of approval and an attached receipt showing your next report date. Print this out for your passport or put the image in your phone. [After you have successfully reported once you may then use the "refresh button". You only need to input your passport number and nationality then press the magnifying glass and the remainder of the form will be completed automatically.] Remember you can only report on line between 14 days before and the actual date of the previous 90 day expiry date.
  10. I didn't want to change my email address but the provider ("cscoms.com") is shutting up shop so it was a necessity. Luckily cscoms advised me of this prior to the new on-line system being launched so I registered with my alternate email address.
  11. This last weekend I was informed of the process for obtaining a "Non-Quota Immigration Visa" by submitting a TM22 form to Bangkok Immigration. I've lived in Thailand for 23 years now and never come across this type of visa before. Google has not been my friend so does anyone know of this type of visa and why one should need one?
  12. I would wait until at least Monday, you should have plenty of time. Albeit my 90 day is processed in Surin it has taken anywhere in the region of 5 hours to 5 days to be approved. Applying in person is permitted up to 7 days after the due date.
  13. I received my reminder email at 01:03 this morning. My due date is 2nd November 2022. I don't intend to submit the TM47 until next week. As you say, there's no rush. My only concern would be that I have sufficient time to submit in person should the on-line facility be down/discontinued. And given that I have 7 days longer to submit in person that should never be a problem.
  14. Yes, she beat Mitchell Mann 4 - 2 in The Northern Ireland Open Qualifiers. She'll face either Ricky Walden (seeded 16) or Ziao Guodong in the best of 7 last 64 in Belfast.
  15. Sorry. I used your bill but did not reference it to you; or anyone else.
  16. The story is that the household use solar power for the majority of the time. However, PEA refuse to believe a ฿0.00 bill and have replaced his meter a number of times assuming that it's faulty.
  17. There is no minus amount. We have had minus amounts for the last few months but not this one. I believe that the reason for zero discount is that last month my wife changed the name of the houseowner (something she's been intending to do for 15 years!). There is a note to that effect on the bill and it states the discount will be applied October to December.
  18. We received our bill today. 237 units and the Ft rate was 0.9343; no discount!
  19. Perhaps you could assist me in the labelling for the future. The information therein was gleaned from the head man in PEA Surin because not one of the other employees there had a clue on how the domestic electricity bill was calculated (6 years ago). This calculator has worked for me to confirm the accuracy my bill for the last six years (within a few satang). I have a 30/100 supply/meter, single phase. I attach a copy of last month's bill.
  20. I've attached a residential electric calculator. The FT reflects the value last month but may be changed. electric calculator.xlsx
  21. That should become clear to me in two weeks time when I receive my August/September bill. We rarely use in excess of 300 kw/hr/m at this time of year.
