  1. Have :

    • Kbank
    • Bad Credit

    Need :

    • Any Internet Bank that I can sign up for Online
    • Accepts Electronic Funds Deposits (EFT)
    • Use my USA Address
    • Has a Debit Card

    Can anyone advise?

I have tried ING, which would be perfect, however, i'm required to make an EFT when opening and Kbank doesn't have routing numbers, therefore I can't get ING :(

  2. no worries JB1, I know you were just being helpful, I'll probably check out that area anyway just in case.

Someone just suggested a place called Super Rich. Below is the message, has anyone ever heard of,or used them?

best is Super Rich... the main location. otherwise any super rich is prob best depends how many crowsn you hve. try BTS Phromg Phong walk towards Siam and its on the right in orange booth "SUPER > RICH" style logo...

  3. Yes, the Laos visa is $30-$35 depending on where you are from. Its an overnight process for the visa so plan on staying at least 1 night there.

I hate dealing with border crossings, always so many scams and people over charging. I'm a US citizen, was reading an online service that takes you there, they tell you its 1500 baht, you pay them, they do it, so I'm assuming their making $15-$20+ off you there.

Should I exchange baht to USD before I go, or is it all the same if I just showed up with Baht only?

  4. Hi,

I have found that that for me the best place to change foreign currency in Bangkok. Are the little booths near Sukhumvit Soi5. There is a small plaza opposite Gulliver's bar, leading to the Arab area. If you walk through past The Restaurants and Hotels you can not miss the booths. I don't know about Czech currency though, but worth giving them a try. I find their exchange rates very good + they are not that bothered if the notes are marked or taped together.

I''m confused by your reply to my question.

Besides their rates and accepting notes that are marked, do they accept a wider range of currency than the places at the airport, kbank, siam, or other booths along sukhumvit?

  5. Try Vientiane, Laos. They are the best locally and will not ask for tickets, paperwork, etc 1000B per. You should be able to get two tourist visas there so 2000B.

    That sounds pretty good.

I didn't see any flights going there via AirAsia, so I'm assuming I would have to take a train?

So I'll just go to the Embassy with only my passport, pay them 2,000 to get a double entry and then take a train back and I'm all set.

Are there any other fees? Does Laos charge a fee to enter their country?

  6. You will not get such a visa in PP and it may be doubtful anywhere if you have a history of tourist visas and are not able to supply minimum requirements for documents. Cost of each tourist visa is 1,000 baht in local currency.

I have had 1 tourist visa in the past.

As far as min requirements, they want a plane ticket and a bank statement? is there anything else?

I don't have any money in any bank

    I don't have a ticket because i don't plan to fly anywhere

    Advice?

  7. I had a 3 entry Visa on my first trip to Thailand exactly 1 year ago. It was free at the time, went to the Los Angeles Thai Immigration office on a Monday morning, picked it up the next day.

Visa was good for 6 months.

3 Entry meant I was allowed to enter Thailand a total of 3 times without having to do anything extra.

60 days each time with a 30 day 1,900 baht extension option.

  8. Good information in this Thread, however, I still have some questions.

    FACTS :

    • I have a tight budget :-(
    • Arrived in Bangkok, October 2nd (30 day arrival visa)
    • I want 1 year student Visa
    • Will sign up at Walen for 180 classes on October 26th. (25k baht)

    Questions

    1. How long does it take to get the paperwork?
    2. Where is the easiest place to go get the non-im ED Visa? (additional fees?)
    3. Every 90 days, is my extension free? OR Do I have to pay an extra 1900 baht to the immigration office each time?
