  1. I have an old kick start Honda Phantom which has eventually knackered my knee so I can no longer start with my right leg.

Is it possible to have an electric start fitted ? My Thai mechanic says it's not possible, he is probably correct but I would like another informed opinion

or confirmation. I am in Pattaya if anyone knows where / if it can be done.

    thanks

    Andy

  2. I want to employ a Thai man or lady and I don't know how to go about finding someone.

Is there an employment noticeboard somewhere that Thai people looking for work might read ?

It's nothing sophisticated so web sites not right.

any sensible advice gratefully received and thanks in advance.

  3. Anyone know where i might get a digital to analogue converter (USB) or Headphone amp (should do the same job),

in Pattaya - tried the obvious places like TUK.com and 3rd floor of Central festival but no joy.

    thanks

    Andrew

  4. I have a letter from the UK varifying my income that I need to get authorised by the Embassy in Bangkok.

Does anyone have any experience of how long this takes if I take the letter myself to the Embassy.

Can it be done the same day - I am running out of time.

    thanks

    Andrew

  5. Just an idea have you checked System Preferences/sound.

A good alternative is FiiO USB DAC-E10 works very well.

thanks Peter I like the idea of using a DAC as it may improve the sound and isolate the headphone jack. Can I ask you where you bought your Fiio ?

I have tried Tuk.com and Central but no joy. cheers Andy

  6. When i had similar bought a usb soundcard specifically for the mac. Cheap and instant fix.

But if you still have warranty get it done properly.

Hi thanks for that suggestion - can I ask you where you bought the mac sound card - that would solve the problem, cheers Andy

  7. The headphone socket on my imac not working and I use a lot to

output to Hi FI, anyone know anyone can repair please ?

I would prefer not to give to a mac shop in Pattaya as they normally send to Bangkok

it takes minimum a week and I use the mac all the time. Also expensive.

    thanks

    any suggestions gratefully received

  8. This is a suggestion - it worked for me. I know nothing about the technology of fridges but if you

turn it over down on it's side, then over and over until it's completed 360 degrees and wait a couple of minutes after each turn.

As I said it worked for me and fridge worked perfectly again.

  9. I like him because he speaks English well and is good at his job, a very fair price and a nice chap, but twice he said he would be back in two days

to finish a job and never turned up. Perhaps I should give him another go.....

  10. I need some IT help uploading a few web sites to a new server now that apple are no longer using mobile me. So Mac IT help from someone who can speak English would possible get me out of the deep hole that I have created.

    Any recommendations gratefully received

    Andy

  11. Rather than buy several condo's why not investigate one family house with private pool.

There are many on the market at much reduced prices. There is a market for professionals

working on yearly contracts looking looking to rent a family home long term.

These people are more likely to look after your property.

Navy boys on a shore leave sexathon tend not to in my experience.
