  1. doing the same project as you at the moment but a 150 rr have already rebuilt the motor and currently sanding back the frame and swing arm for painting as was impossible to find a sand blasting machine, Got all the parts for the motor rebuild at a local parts store and they did a rebore on the cylinder for 80 baht.

Have ordered a new set of fairings in the Repsol colours (copies not originals) for 4000 baht . there is a few sites on the internet that are in english to get some ideas (http://www.nsr150.com/1/nsr_mods_3876019.html) this one was a good one about polishing the ports of the exhaust.

The plan is for it to be solely a track bike so may be one day we can get together do a few laps, all the best with your rebuild.

  2. Thanks for the info boys the plan is to build a track bike as there is no green book with it, the Tyga site is great and there is a few high performance parts that I can certainly use on this project, so far I have strip the bike down to a bare frame and have opened up the motor which looks surprisingly good even the oil drained out of the gear box was still clean. The bike had been sitting in a shed for 5 years and as far as I can tell the only thing wrong with it is the RC valve was not working not that the previous owner would have revved it passed 5000 rpm. The frame is in good shape with only a bit of surface rust, the front forks are a bit sad and need a total rebuild, but the best part is the bike was free, the first thing I have ever got in this country for free.

Does anyone know how to read the vin number so I can find out how old the bike is, it has round head lights if thats any help

Once again thanks for the info.

  3. Having trouble finding any spare parts for a total rebuild but then again I am in Mukdahan and have tried all the bike shops here with out luck, does anyone know of a shop that specialises in these old bikes, a web site or any info, mainly after complete engine and gear box gaskets ,front fork seal kit and the dreaded RC valve.

If have to go BKK thats ok, but anywhere closer to Muk would be good

  4. Don't kill snakes.

Better to stick to your high rise condo in the big city. I have young children and a good snake is a dead snake,so you saying its better to let the snakes bite your family members. Odds on you have never been close to one. Tree hugger

No need to kill snakes. 1 local call to get one Removed.

    They serve a purpose.

And this is Thailand by the time you call someone how long does it take for someone to turn up, if its on Thai time it could be next week
