Further to this, when are they due to open. I’m planning a trip with my son and I know he’ll be pretty annoyed if the bars are shut in Sampantamit.
(He’s only 10 but he wants me out of the hotel room as much as possible so he can indulge in FreeFire!!)Dont have a clue Ask the Government

Signs have been posted to reflect such hre in Udon for years

when you are attacked in your own home with a gun weilding robber you are entitled to defend yourself, in any other country it would be recognised as self defence, if a thai had done it, it would also be looked at as self defence but because a farang that was 10 years older than the robber did it he is being charged, really shows the anti farang views/laws they have here.
Sorry not so
In Canada you would be charged No matter if it was in your home or not

You suggested eliminate 90 day reports. That's a given and has been suggested very often. Hopefully will be abolished.
You mentioned do away with border runs without any suggested alternatives. You suggest "one year visas" again without any detail.
BTW one year visas are currently available.
Well DR maybe you could have suggested also but again I have picked up someone that is a keyboard jockey and cant sugest or add.

Why don't you suggest exactly what changes you have in mind. At the end of your OP you use words ....."relax the rules". What do you have in mind.
Skip the 90 report part. It's a given that it should be ditched.
What else...??
I suggested a few what do you have or ar e you waiting in the bushes to attack

OP, on one hand you refer to tourists and same breathe refer to "only one year visas". Don't sound like tourists to me.
As for retirees, I am one and find it a very straight forward walk in the park system.
90 day reports are stupid agreed.
I think that Thailand has a very relaxed clear and simple system.
I am talking about the whole system and revising it tourist,
retirees etc

How does eliminating the 90 day and border runs attract more riff raft.
Chnage hurts and it appears you dont want to get hurt

With all the upheaval in the past near 2 years with extensions, borders closed is it not time to revise the types of Visas for thailand???
Get rid of or modify border runs , 90 day reporting, only one year visas, etc to a more appealing Visa system for Thailand. With Thailand wanting to increase it not only Tourist trade but increase their number of retirees one would think they would relax the rules.

Just watched the Taliban being interviewed inside the Canadian Embassy, Kabul.
Taliban said, look at all the money they spend on the best food. Look at all the alcohol they have been drinking........and then when they are drunk they all have sex with each other.....5555
Is this true?
Sure why not the internet spread all sorts of rumors

Fairly good choice of international schools on Samui (No sixth form to speak of though) and even more in Phuket of course. However we often holidayed at Birds and Bees resort (unreal place for kids) in Pattaya in half terms as there was so much to do and many attractions for young kids in and around Patts........Samui had a real nice friendly vibe at the schools IMO, even had inter school swimming galas. This was in the noughties BTW.................However if you ever want to consider a non beach city for a really great all round education experience and lifestyle, you can't beat Chiang Mai IMO. A fantastic choice of decent international schools there. Either way, you'll have great fun bringing up a young child in their early years in Thailand................................
Think if you were asking this same question in your home country. What an irresponsible question

I registered on August 1st on this site. https://expatvac.consular.go.th/
Still no email confirming appointment after almost 2 weeks now. I think has gone into a black hole since I don't live in or near Bangkok that is highlighted in bold from the email confirming my registration.
"For those residing in provinces other than Bangkok and neighbouring provinces (Nakorn Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan and Samut Sakhon), the Ministry of Public Health will assign a vaccination site in your area. Your vaccination allocation will be provided according to priorities set by the Ministry of Public Health, i.e. age group, vulnerability, high risk zone e.t.c"
THe wife called last week In my case I requested Pfizer and they will not get back to me until they have aquire the vaccine for an appointment. <deleted>ty system but that is what it is
