How long have you known your GF?
I mean you're coming to Thailand for 3 weeks, and thinking, hey why not marry her while you're here.
Speculating, I would find this lifestyle quite bizarre and unsettling.
"Just dropping in for a couple weeks to marry the gal". And then what....??
Commuters existence?
And then I have to spend few more months in my home country working on a project, before going back to my home in Asia.
We know eachother long enough but thanks for worrying!

1. You need affirmation free to marry from your embassy in BKK, contact your embassy to see what paperwork they need from you.
2. Translation of the affirmation to Thai.
3. Register the translation at Ministry of foreign affairs (MFA) in BKK
4. Bring passport, GF's ID and house book with affirmation to the Amphur and get married.
1-3. I did in one day in BKK.
4. 20 minutes at my local Amphur.
Total cost for me, 700 baht (excluding travel to BKK)
700 baht ?
cool I like that kind of marriage!

Hi everybody, next month I'm in Thailand for only 3 weeks just inbetween my work, and want to use the time to marry my gf, just functional and without any fringe and especially not that traditional stuff, and ofcourse no dowry all that local crap as both she, her parents and I we are down to earth people and we no need that.
Just a official certificate and for the amphur only, and no prenuptial agreement.
How to prepare this can my lawyer do this for me even before I'm there ?
Estimate of the official costs involved ?
Thanks.

Very interesting site indeed, I remember I mentioned that one in the past. It has a collection of good links to internet radio and TV that otherwise via Google you might have never found.

As it's not even a developing country (things simply don't develop here, 'maipenrai' is written on our forehead) Thailand has a long, long way to go before getting rid of the status of Third World Country.
Too be honest, personally I don't believe in a better future for this country anymore.

Edit: this is at Mr. Jobs home in Palo Alto, not the release from hospital.

you say "wonderful lady and really deserves some support" .... ugly not?
I doubt the income of 3000 THB only, I doubt she have only 780K Kip as accountant in government, I know few friends in VT working for government they have min double or even triple. So take care that nobody want weak up your pity as it seem. I would have a Toshiba 17" but screen brocken and to repair cost more then a new today and I doubt they get spare parts.
I wasn't thinking in therms of beauty, but she is just a treasure the way she is, like many Lao girls (truly I'd wish I could marry them all) Yes she earns around 3-3.5k a month, 'basic' salary for most office workers.

My dear friend in Vientiane, a 24 years old lady works as accountant for the government and earns around 3,000 baht a month. Therefore she has not much budget for expensive purchases. She likes to have a laptop for her work and private use. I'm currently in Europe and need to mind my budget also, so unfortunately I can't do much for her. Although she is such a wonderful lady and really deserves some support. Perhaps in NongKai is someone who has a laptop for sale for a low price or even one to be donated, that would be great!!!!
Information on where to buy cheap though reliable laptop in Nong Kai is also welcome.
Thanks.

Not hard to imagine that someone educated at University of Marne-La-Valle, and London School of Economics don't want to spoil his time with a total crap company like TrueMove

As there are serious intenet issues in Thailand I wonder if this tool, Netbalancer (today free via Giveawayoftheday) can help ? I am not affiliated with this site -and I don't wish so as often they offer crap- but I wonder if this tool might be useful in situations with poor internet.

Nice to have such a granddaddy !
Although the bastard got what he deserved, I think somehow it's also sad those dirty rebels messing around in his 'private life'... The bastard did good things for Libya as well, but ended up living in his own reality, it's like a confrontation of times.
