  1. Beautiful day here in Maeon..Moo10....Sun shinning with a crystal clear blue sky...Dogs and chooks all sleeping as per usual under our durian...banana..date palm..papaya trees..and at peace with each other. Quiet night at the shop with reasonable local customers..but wee bit chilly. I even had a scarf on...yet we sold out on ice..such is life ...sanuk..Tomorrow is MKRO day to stock up..chai

  2. Met him in Makros Hang Dong about 2 weeks ago...Still as large as life. I mentioned that I liked his beer prices...very competitive. Tend to drop into the bar only about once a month Fri/Sat nights when staying over in town...sanuk.

  3. Had a wander over last night...Although had a band playing did not appear to be very busy however approx 25 cars in the car park..so make it out as one wishes..Big expansion project and seems ...intent is to expand the whole setup by at least 50 %..quite impressive. Also appears  that they have dumped a load of refill into Ping river to enlarge  frontage....hope they got permission...LOL TIT..Would suggest however.. whoever is behind the project are looking towards the future of welcome to Chieng Mai international (quality) tourists.and from where I was standing... looking good ...and must Wish them Best of Luck....Sanuk...and Kanpai..

  7. Any updates on Booster No 2.

Been in UK since Xmas and just got back this week.

My First and Second jabs were done at the Prom last Sept, while I got a Moderna booster in Glasgows Hampden Park (the football ground) but unlike in CM NKP it took me 8 weeks to get the verification certificate.

One way return was easy...Thai Pass in 3 days..UK health Insurance accepted and Agoda booking at Holiday inn Express in Sukhumvit soi 11...for one night ...Neg result by 9 pm and 10 minutes later was sitting in "Leks last stand bar" with a beer Chang.

Back to question..Just before I left...flew back Scottish / R-uk governments were starting to roll out their Boosters No 2...Programme..so...

  8. Recon time to head back.from Blighty...Pfizer 1 and 2 at the Prom Chieng Mai..plus yellow book a week later with follow up Moderna in Glasgow Scotland..at Xmas. They however took 6 weeks to send and assimilate the  certificate with NHS registration..ho hum..but mai pen ...Yes...Hoping los Moh drop the 5 day test.....Will give it another week..sanuk

  9. All above correct..got back last week  to Glasgow and new rules here mean that you can get a booster locally 12 weeks after your second c19 shot which I got in CM end of Sept...so headed to Hampden Park as a walk in ..No problem...however since I had a UK..ie English nhs med number ..Scotland requires a different  called a CHI ..? Basically I had to locally register with a GP..get said number and upload my Thai vaxes certificated QR to be valid on the system....Just read also that all UK Nations  documentation will be accepted by both EU and Thailand...for travel..Got to keep up ..chai..Happy New Year...sanuk.

Did you need a covid passport to show your vaccinated on departure.?or just a paper certificate.

KLM were more concerned that I had a completed Location approval certificate from UK gov.since you need it to prove that you are "accepted for entry"Showed check in lady my yellow pp..fit to fly..with the antigen..result anyway ...and she just smiled and said...dee mak..ka...

  11. Got an Antigen test in CMedclinic at 12.30 Friday...Negative result plus FTF...at 5pm.Saturday down to Bangkok for KLM to Glasgow.on Sun 16th.Had already booked day 2 PCR in Glasgow for the Monday and also had a completed Locator form printed..Docs Checked by Airline..Monday test Negative...So now in my local... drinking coffee...

  12. 10 days ago..CM - BKK r/t 2 days down there on Thai Viet Jet.....zilch.

Checked in on line and just showed Driving License but had ..Pink ID,PP and Thai Yellow Book in the bag just in case...Flights both ways were FULL...only a couple of "farangs"on board. good flight.. Incid if parking at Chiang Mai Airport always use the new multi story car park...small buggy delivers you to main buildng ...about 2 minutes. Also its cheaper than outside...

Trying to keep up to date with vaccine requirements is not too easy in an ever changing rules saga .

So what is the rule , vaccine wise , for a returning double jabbed farang  please ?

From 04:00 GMT on Tuesday ( ie 11-00 am Thai Time "pron nee") travellers aged 12 and over will be required to show proof of a Negative PCR or lateral flow test taken no earlier than 48 hours before departure.( flight or check in....mai ko jai..?) Health Secretary said the measures were temporary.

Hello all, does anyone know where I can get a cheap pcr test in Bangkok? I would need it in less than 48 hours. I asked here at the hotel and they are all saying at the hospital. I find it to be very expensive starting at 3,500 baht. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
