  1. Not necessarily. Just to avoid questions if I accumulate too much visa exempt entries.
  2. Yup, that's what I did as well, and I triple checked that everything was submitted. Well I took another selfie, maybe they disliked my shirt, who knows. ????
  3. Picture of the applicant holding and showing the info page of the applicant’s passport ( to identify if the applicant’s face is the same person as the passport holder) Yep, I tried to google it for an example, but couldn't find any. I asked 3 friends who are policemen (2 in my home country, and one in Thailand). I trusted their expertise in criminal matters, but none of them have a clue why the picture I sent in should not qualify. So if someone knows an example with exact dimensions or similar experience please reply. Or I might just not be handsome enough to fulfil their requirements.
  4. Well to answer the question, mostly to avoid too much screening by immigration, or running into one who stepped out with the wrong foot first. Even if it's technically possible to spend full time on visa extension runs and the 30 day extensions.
  5. I think the question says it all. The question is of course meant for those who enjoy visa exempt entries anyways. So what would happen if for example you see a cheap last minute, jump into the plane prior you got confirmation for your e-visa? Would it get void if you attemt to use it on a later entry from a neighboring country.?
  6. I don't have a problem with the visa fees but rather the idiotic requirements that comes with it. 45 days would basically eliminate the need for a visa.
  7. Usually a signed copy of the Tabien baan, if applicable. If staying in a condo or other rental, I have no idea. I got a copy from the house book of my landlady & Thai ID both signed & the TM30 itself. In my case the Thai misus would be no help, as her house book is Bangkok, but we rented in Chiang Rai. BTW, I usually go by myself. They have not much interested in conservation with me. That's a whole other story if a Thai female is involved. ????
  8. Just looked at it, it would be ok more or less, at least not more hassle than an METV. AFAIK, not even finances are checked such as the 700€/6000€ for the SETV/METV. However, criminal record, medical attest, insurance, leasing contract, or at least 3 months of hotel bookings, and still the requirement of Confirmed AQ/ SHA+ reservation, although thAQ/SHA+ might be outdated information. So I rather decline their grateful offer. Rumors, on an Asean Now suggest that they'll eventually scrap the Thai-Pass system. So I think I'll sit those few week out as well.
  9. And then I look at all the requirements to secure a visa and/or Thailand pass, and then I just thinking, you might do it next week.....and that goes on since the so promoted "re-opening" It´s easier nowadays to get a Thai into Schengen or elsewhere in the west than vice-versa.
  10. Of course I did look at the Elite-Visa as well, but as I said b4, I want to reduce my time in Thailand drastically, the only reason I need some time is to get rid of my rental house, which I didn't use for over 2 years, and reduce a lot of stuff which came together in the past years. So throwing away 600K or even more for the Elite Visa is not going to happen. On the other hand I would nowadays qualify for a retirement visa. But I shift away most of my assets back home away from the banks, as I don't trust them. The Thai government and their banks, I trust even less. So I'll not deposit much more into my Thai bank account as I'll need in a foreseeable amount of time. There are still places around in the world, where you could spend the winter months without all the hassle.
  11. It's the Thai embassy in Belgium, yesterday if I'm not mistaken, it was still 'multiple flights', since today June 01 it changed to at "least twice" For the METV, the reservation of the flight tickets inbound and outbound of Thailand on a regular basis or at least twice https://www.thaiembassy.be/2021/09/21/tourist-visa/?lang=en As we have already June anyways, I'll not need a METV anymore, as I plan to reduce my time in Thailand anyways. Those 140€ saved towards a SETV, I can use for the 30 days extensions. At the end, it's basically the same.
  12. Well in the past, aka Pre-Covid, I used to spend roughly about 10 months/year in Thailand, including some side trips in neighboring countries. The other 2 months during the summer, I returned back to my home country. I usually returned with a METV to Thailand, and secured another SETV in either Cambodia or in Laos, without any major issues. When I look now at the s...load of paperwork requested for a Tourist visa, I assume those in power can't be very serious about Thailand to be a Tourist destination anymore. For the METV, they require now multiple flights in and out of Thailand, it seems that land crossings are not an option. An return airfare to Phnom Penh is only about 100$, and would probably serve well, but I find it a bit hilarious to expect anyone to plan 180 days ahead, when the government(s) themselves can't even plan a week ahead. Alternatively, I could use those 20$ flightitineraryforvisa bookings, but I guess it's a bit over the top. So, I`ll rather opt only for the SETV this time, as I plan to reduce my time in Thailand anyways. In the past I never used those 1900B 30days extensions, but I guess this time it's the way to go. a.) Am I correct, that you can also extend the 30 days Visa-exempt entries by 30 days? b.) Is it still the norm that you'll get 2 Visa-exempt entries/year if using land crossings. I'm aware that, if the Thailand Pass, is still required in the future, that those land crossings will require some time abroad, I read somewhere here, you can't apply for a new Thailand Pass while still in the country. It's no big deal, as I planned longer stays abroad anyways. c.) A visa exempt entry by air travel does not count towards the 2 land crossing entries?
  13. I had insurance myself, and indeed there was no problems with covering. However, there was a list which hospitals you could use. In more remote provinces like in my case, the only choice was between two private hospitals in the whole province. When I crashed with a scooter, I went to the village hospital, and the whole bill including X-rays was less than 1500 B. I went then to the 'approved' hospital, which did exactly the same thing they did 2-3 hours in the village (state) hospital, just the price tag was above 20.000 B. That might be the first reason why cover is so expensive in Thailand. Nowadays I rather try to get an insurer that would also cover the neighboring countries.
  14. What about this fake reservations, especially for visa applications?
  15. Thai insurance is pretty much a scam in itself, long time b4 it got a requirement. Or do you know about an insurance where you can choose your hospital freely?
  16. No worries, monkeypox they'll deal with the new 300 bath entry fee. After all we were told it's spend towards insurance. ????
  17. Thanks Joe, I had not created an account, so it was impossible to find. Once registered , it seems easy.
  18. Hi, I'm just browsing through the website of my nearest embassy, to visit Thailand after +2 years of abstinence. More paperwork than ever b4. The good news, () there is finally an e-visa. However, it seems only be the case for the single entry visa. METV's seem not to be available online. If entering with a e-visa (SETV), I doubt that you'll get another e-visa granted while in Asia. Neither do I expect that the situation in the neighboring countries did improve in any ways regarding visa application ?? To make things worse, in my region, it seems all the consular sections are shut down, so the embassy is your only option.
  19. Assume they mean Effective Microorganisms developed by Pr. Teruro Higa from Okinawa, which has a pretty broad acceptance in Thailand.
  20. Just wondering what about expired certificates. Had my second shoot of Pfizer last year June. The certificate issued seems to be expired after 9 months, could be 6 months depending on different countries. Is that certificate (proof of vaccines) still good to enter Thai soil?
  21. Just wait another week, the rules will change again, without the rules from previous week did come effective. Absolutely a clown show.
  22. Simply genius. The last I read on this topic was that the Thailand pass with the new rules should be available online from tomorrow 28th. Now, we'll wait a bit more for further clarification. ???????? What a circus.
