  1. It's not that TG is a bad airline, it just should & could be so much better.

Losing control of a subsidiary company (Nok Air), the shambolic Thai Tiger fiasco and now a third attempt at a low cost operator is planned for 2012.

Such poor management underlies the reason that TG is not a leading global brand similar to SQ or CX.

Perhaps there are deeper reasons which would explain why LOS is yet to produce a top global company in any field.

  3. Laos amazing place, Luang Prabang perfect for kids and grandma.

Fly CNX-LPQ with Laos Air (buy tickets direct not online as cheaper). Spend 2 nights there, bike rides round town, great swimming waterfall outside town, good restaurants, neat cafes, hotels check out TripAdvisor re your budget. Mekong Riverview very nice and well run.

    Anything else?

  4. Mystery solved, Thai Visa comes through again, It shows that there are some good interesting posts on this site and some good interesting people keep it up folks.

It seems that Capt Abraham is/was one lucky guy as not only did he survive being shot down over Don Muang, but also walked away from a crash landing in November 1942 when his P39D Airacobra came down at French Field Airbase in the Canal Zone, Panama where he was serving with 52 Fighter Squadron, 32nd Fighter Group.

  5. This thread certainly has some legs and lots of passion! Seems like folk take their food pretty seriously.

FWIW went to Pizza & Pasta recently and was most impressed by their pizza, definitely a notch above the usual tinned tomatoes and stodge offered in most places. Looks like ribs are now off the menu but no great loss, give me Memphis or Kansas City any day.

To chuck in my penny's worth for Italian food options this side of town my vote would be for P&P for pizza, and Happy Pizza or the new Francesca's for great pasta.
