A dangerous and silly idea. Modern lifejackets inflate on contact with water. Passengers inside a boat will be unable to escape and will drown, aside from being uncomfortable the entire trip. Air transport prohibits wearing lifejackets during normal flights for this very reason.

The new education system should only be for Bkk and south. In the north east, the population actually like( voted in a landslide) and want to continue the old style of replacing key personnel and changing the curricula every 5 minutes. Even though it kept the Isaanites poor and their children dumb, they were happy with it, and whats more important is their voting decision making remained malleable. That the farmers daughters all had to flee the poverty and incest and just happened to end up working in entertainment areas is just another positive of the PTP education policy.

Tarit, seeing his wealth and face disappear, shame heaped upon his wife and children. I wonder Mr Tarit, was it really worth doing the devil's bidding? Did you really not see that it was always going to end in tears?

"Muslim summer courses" , LOL it's PC gone mad. Under no circumstances should the closed-minded and prone to violence be allowed to meet in groups of more than 5 people. Because they are muslim? No, because they have run a decade long terror campaign killing thousands of kids and women, with no dissenting voices from within their community. Disgraceful bunch of ne'er do wells.

Might this FINALLY be a good enough reason to cancel our friend in Dubai's diplomatic passport? Of course it would be better to drag him back here in irons to be publicly flayed alive, but at least cancelling his diplomatic passport would be a start.
As far as I know that would be 'passport', not 'diplomatic passport'
It was returned to him by his sister 3 weeks after she became PM.
His passport was returned in about October, a few months after the election and during the floods when the department was closed. It wasn't a diplomatic passport.
As an ex-PM he is legally entitled to hold a diplomatic passport for the rest of his life.
As a ego-maniac and raging psychopath, he will feel entitled to a diplomatic passport.
As a micro-managing puppet master, who instructed a department over which he had total control over to print him a passport, how could it be he got the FM, his cousin, to hand deliver abroad, during the worst floods in living memory, an ordinary passport?
The Thaksin I know and love, would have given himself one with all the bells and whistles.

Thailand's war on drugs was conclusively won back in the early 2000's. All it took was for a few thousand men, women and children to be assassinated by govt operatives loyal to the then CEO prime minister. A surprising strategy, and I was skeptical until Dr.T confirmed that it was in fact mission accomplished and that Thailand was "free of all drugs". Well done.

Only four replies so maybe too early to ask, but till now I have not seen any reasoning why the National Police Chief should be sacked.
Any policeman that became a billionaire on a coppers salary is massively bent. Any policeman that is massively bent should be sacked. Rather easy to understand.

It is unbelievable that this Pongpat doesn't know any "connected" people, who he could donate a few greenbacks to end his legal woes. He must not be the sharpest tool in the box, being the only rich fella to ever see the inside of a Thai prison. If you are reading this mate, try giving the guard a "favor" he might reward you with a cigarette if you did it properly( act like you are enjoying yourself).
In the past a top banker was jailed & fined 2 billion (I think), a former health minister was sentenced to 15 years for which he served qy\uite a bit of time before release, a top cop (killing a mother & son of a jeweller involved in the gems case) sentenced to death but now reduced to life. I realise many are still walking free who deserve to be in jail but Pongpat is not the only one.
Good point, but this top cop embroiled in the blue diamond affair didn't do real time - although it was 19yrs. He lived in a special suite inside the prison which used to be the ICU and had manservants and as much JW black label as he could drink. Not a real prison sentence, and almost certainly he was being looked after by the real brains/clout behind the crime. Makes me wonder what Pongpats cell looks like, plush opulence I'll bet, with a few ancient artifacts for decor.

I suppose he wants a parallel panel to investigate the rice scam transporters division also?
The role of the UDD, will be to serve time in jail, for terrorism. Killing people, and scaring the bejeezus out of sane citizens countrywide, in order to return a brutal psychopath to resume his crime spree was rather an unpleasant thought for the majority with firing synapses up-top.

If there is 1 silver lining for Yingluck here, it is that she legalized perjury during her tenure as PM, when she was forced to lie under oath in the asset concealment case. This could come in very handy here.

"Who was the head military man when the military were involved in the trafficking and have charged foreign journalists with defamation for reporting on the Thai military actions."
Well yingluck was the defense minister, she was in charge.
Cute. You know damn well that no civilian defense authority has ever had any control over the military. The military has proclaimed multiple times that it does not answer to civilian governments.
Want to try smearing the former PM again?
Stop pretending GK. Yingluck was the PM and Defense Minister. The DSI and Police were under her (her brother's) control. She could, and should have done far more.
But to easy too luck the other way, especially when you've got both hands firmly in other very nice cookie jars at the time.
He isn't smearing the disgraced former PM/DM. She managed that perfectly well herself by doing nothing other than what her brother instructed which was focused on his amnesty whitewash, enriching the family further, and protecting the family from future criminal accountability.
Just check - how many times did she attend parliament, how many defense meetings did she chair, how many anti-trafficking meeting did she chair? How many trips did she make to the South in either or both capacities?
You just could not make this up. All the years reading ever more determined posts here from red leaning posters, insisting that Yingluck was the real PM and DM and not just a puppet. And now, well now the very same posters are actually trying to claim that she was not really PM/DM. Have they no shame?

For once, Yingluck is right. As regards Yingluck and her action on the human rights front, her appointment to a ministerial position of Ms Nalinee Taveesin (who is on a US blacklist for her links to human rights champion Robert Mugabe) says it all. The clans interests in blood diamonds and financial shenanigans with the Zimbabwean dictator trumps any thoughts of the poor brutalized souls that suffer for their amply rich pickings.

Mandela of the East! Ohh how my sides doth hurt!
Do all you yellow lads actually believe he is some kind of pariah or do you just completely ignore is corruption filled past? A recent example of him holding shares in a media company that received government concessions which is illegal. He quit as an MP before he went to court for it though
Maybe you lot just stick your fingers in your ears and sing "lalalalalalala"
I'll see your "holding shares in a media company that received government concessions" , and I'll raise you a "got his good buddy CY to gift him a telecommunications monopoly that would make a man that's tech savvy went as far as allowing him to screw in a light bulb become one of the world's richest telecommunications billionaires ".
hint - Dangerous game it is, to play Top Trumps when your hero is a Shinawatra. You will lose every time.

Such amusing phrasing! The title implies that Prayuth has at some stage of his life held a rifle and focused on a target. I suggest if you presented the good general with a firearm he would look as perplexed as if you gave a donkey an abacus. Here, the army has nothing to do with defense, rather it is an elite club that focuses on wealth creation.

Using this logic, any doctor that tried to help a patient(who later succumbed to injuries) should be punished. Silly really, because it was the underlying condition that was the killer. I don't believe Abhisit and Suthep woke one morning and decided to have the army fire willy-nilly into pedestrians going about their daily activities. Wasn't there and evil wanna-be dictator for life sponsoring a violent uprising to gain power, face and profit to the express cost of the uneducated and poor(who ironically were his main supporters)?

quote "Evidence has shown that uncontrolled tourism has ruined the underwater ecology of the Andaman Sea, an academic forum on the maritime tourism crisis at Kasetsart University was told yesterday."
Utter, unbridled nonsense. The underwater ecology of the Andaman Sea (and the G.O.T.) has been ruined through destructive fishing practices over the past 7 decades - primarily push nets that trashed the sea grass beds and reefs, trawlers using undersize meshing at the cod-end, destruction of breeding and nursery sites such as mangrove forests and other practices that have nothing to do with foreign tourists. It might come as a surprise, but the owners of the largest fishing companies, and the ones doing the most environmental damage are owned by politicians and other "connected" peoples, which probably accounts for the official line of blame the tourists.
Tourism is mainly responsible for one of the worst kinds of pollution - noise pollution. But it's effects are not long lasted, nor particularly severe(unless you are a light sleeper).

Thaksin will not attend the official ceremony because he was not invited
In reality the two were known to be close so every liklihood he was invited.
Photoshop alert. Since 2010 Thaksin Shinawatra has officially had the fingers of a negro man on his right hand(red legend created to explain the Dr's black fingers on Pinnochio Pattama's moon-shot Thaksin advises Mandela meeting.

The use of nominees in Thailand gained popularity a decade ago when the sitting PM normalized them as his way of skirting dastardly legal rules. To clarify rules concerning the use of nominees, judging by this article, if you are a small player, you are in deep trouble. If you are a billionaire - carry on as usual.

i asked a guy with several captive ones at his home. he said they were captive bred and had licenses. catching wild ones was a no-go legally but like eveything, if theres money in it someone will take the risk. better to ban keeping them full stop.
