Anny: You can not take a train to Chiang Rai, but can get a train to Chiang Mai, then bus over here to Chiang Rai. I have no idea of cost for VIP train ticket to CM.

not a high brand one but very nice hotel.

it is in Soi Ruamrudee and they have 24hr taxi available for free.

i think it takes like 5 minutes from the hotel to the embassy by the free taxi.

I am a little confused about the citizenship for my niece.

She's 2 months baby, born in Bangkok. Her father is Thai and Her mother is Japanese.

I wonder which national passport is necessary for her, Thai or Japanese?

The mother said she needs both Thai and Japanese passport.

If so, what would be important document to apply and where would she could apply for the passport?

When I lived in a cyclone zone, we were all reminded to have a "cyclone pack"...canned food, bottled water, first aid kit, torch etc etc in case of emergency evacuation. My friend always had a bottle of gin in there too.

Maybe it is time for us to keep aside a "flood pack"? It could even double as a "coup pack" or "red-shirts-run-amok-pack" or even "yellow-shirt-blockade-pack"!

yeah, flood pack is a good idea and i believe that there are a lot of ''good idea'' about flood or any disaster. but we, Thailand, should be unite first and then those good idea can be start.

How long did your office say their Business Continuity Plan was going to be in operation? Sounds like their contingency for the flooding.

As advised above you'll be safe above ground floor level but stock up with as much water as you can. Maybe you can stay with friends or family out of town and still work online from there?

we haven't start the plan yet but if water comes, plan starts until things turn ok. so i hope i can go to work on thuesday.

what I worried about was not a flood. it's ok. but i just don't like it when people are panic and over acting in every corner of the town.

I worried they will stop the power and water supply and then it is going to be shortage of food and safe water.

i still have a hope that things will be ok. its been 3 weeks that me and company work harder to support the clients in suffered area.

we still want to help and save their business as much as we can. this is the time to help each other to continue business and run the world as normal.

in conclusion, when flood comes to the central bangkok, business stop, no food no safe water, no dry area to set the prevention and migration center.

DISASTER

i wonder if it really going to happen in bkk, how long it's gonna be flooding?

so i have been busy at work and did not update any news about flood until today, the Business Development Dept in my office launch their "Business Continuity Plan" aka "work at home".

So I left work early and thought about to store some dry food such as cup noodle. to be honest, im kinda panic with those idea about flood. i live near Chaopraya river, ALONE. and they say a huge mass of water is coming tonight....anyway, i already bought ....OREO.....it was the last FOOD I saw in the shelf.

there are so many news, twitter, facebook, online news etc. those minus news scared me.

is it that serious? should I panic?

so, i went to my fav bar last night near my office, Bacchus wine bar & restaurant, located in Soi Ruamrudee.

i had a couple strong drink and they got me drunk as i lose myself and crying over about the shitty life.

then i left my seat to get some air and made a phone call to my friend then when i went back in the bar 30 minutes after.

there were farang guy and his thai girlfriend freaking out to everyone in the bar (which most are farang) but i did not really give them attention.

I got some more drink and started to chat on my blackberry then the farang guy came.

'' did you see my blackberry around here, didn't you?" asked farang guy.

me ''nah, i was just come back to my seat and i'm pretty drunk, sorry,'' and he left.

20minutes later, this dude seems really have problem with everyone here. he ask if anybody walk pass through his table and the waitress said there were Ananda Everingham!!

((actually i was informed that this guy lost his phone and i made a phone call to call center to ask if they can find the latitude of the phone but they can't so i gave up and continue drinking))

but this dude was being so idiot to me by asking if he can comb out my hand back and i said go ahead sir, i dig out my louis vuitton purses, a book, ipad, ipod, a bag of tissue paper, make up bag, company ID card and such. and this dude only said,

'' wow, you have many thing in you bag'' and get his face out of me.

(in my mind, dude, can you just say sorry or thank you that i let you break into my private?)

then I said ''sir, i don't care what you got on your phone, this is unprofessional. You can't even take care of your own property. and you can't look down thinking on ppl in this country are a brunch of thief and thugs.''

''let me suggest as i used to experience this situation, i will just cancel the service ASAP for the priory security then get the new phone!!"

then i left to my seat again. Ananda Everingham and his friend came closer to me and gave me a hand shaking and left. I left too, that due was too ridiculous! he would have a chance to talk to my lawyer if he being an idiot again.

this was my first time face up with such a situation like this. I wonder what would all farang people here do if they lost his property in the bar. DUH!
