Have you been paid in full?
If so it's not your problem, this issue should have been dealt with prior to sale.
What you could do is visit your closest DLT, do the transfer, then the new owner can transfer to his province at his local DLT
The guy who bought the bike has already been to the local office DLT and they said it can only be done at the provincial one.
They also gave us the same information when we inquired about it around six months ago. So you can say what you like but if the local office refuse to do it then, you have no choice.

Thanks again.
-
And I've just found out that Google can translate text in an image. You learn something everyday. Thank you.
Unfortunately, I suspect I will be forced to go if the provincial registration office insists on it. As you know, government offices here are a law unto themselves.
-
Wow. Thank you very much. I'll pass this on to my wife. I speak Thai fairly well but can't read it. The English translation is a bit too small.

I have just sold an old motorbike. However it was registered in Songkhla and the guy I sold it to lives in Korat.
He said all he needed was my signature and copy of passport to transfer the ownership.
Yesterday, he called to say that I will need to go with him in person to the provincial head office (200km) round trip.
An incredible waste of time for a second hand bike.
Has anybody encountered this and is there any way round it?
-
Thanks for all the replies.
The Lazada link from Crossy was just the kind of thing I was looking at yesterday, but when I asked the Thai vendors, they seemed to think it would not be good enough.
Possibly something lost in the translation.
The two pin plug and cable that runs to the charger are just like any other standard Thai electrical appliance. So, I thought anything similar to extend it would be ok.
I would be grateful if someone could just clarify that I do not need a heavy duty cable.

I think it is worth 10k, offer 8-9
Don't offer 5k it is lowballing
Already reduced from 12. Like I said, there are some extras.

I don’t know enough about graphics cards, I always buy onboard, but the 1050ti seems to be purchased for 3K now. Hardly worth removing and selling.
The mobo is 1500B new.
I don’t think it’s worth 10K, is it?
Well, there are a few extras like expensive case, lots of fans and expensive power unit.

And then he'll need to buy another graphics card since the processer is an -F SKU...
Can you explain please?

Thanks for these replies, unfortunately I'll only be there Thursday Friday Saturday.
Are there any local clinics I could pop into? -
I have had a spot for some time which will not heal. I went to a local village doctor who said it was an allergy and gave me some cream.
It has not improved. I’m concerned it might be a carcinoma.
I shall be in Pattaya for a few days this week.
Can anybody suggest a reliable Doctor where I might get a second opinion?

Did you save the EMS receipt? IIRC, that provides you with an "out" as it proves you submitted the report on time.
You'd take the receipt with you to immigration when sorting things out in person.
Yes I did.
In any normal country that would be enough but....... -
Anybody else had a problem with a 90 day report by post lately?
I’ve been doing it for 4 years without any previous problems. Usually sent back within a week.
I sent mine off on May 3 (due May 14) and am still waiting for reply.
Looking at the calendar it would appear that they have “worked” approximately 6 days since May 3.
I am assuming that if they have somehow mislaid it, it will be my fault.

Many thanks for these replies. It’s good to know that Rawai is still the place to go.
I’ll pass the information on.

A friend of mine (Vietnamese with Chinese boyfriend) is planning a short break in Phuket in July. She knows I used to live there so asked me for advice on places to stay etc.
Trouble is, I haven’t lived there for 10 years. She wants to do some diving and eat good Thai food.
I recommended Rawai as a place to stay.
Is that still a good option?
What’s the best way to get from the airport to Rawai beach?
I’ll be grateful for any advice so that I can pass it on.

Thanks for your reply which I've only just seen.
I'll give it a try next month.
But why they need to make it so complicated escapes me.Paying a utility bill via your bank account in the same country would seem to be the most simple and obvious service any bank could offer.

1 of the reasons I originally went with Bangkok Bank was because there telephone help service was very good. That was 18 years ago. Now you have absolutely no no chance of actually speaking to anybody human. The last time I sent them an email enquiry, I did get a reply but it was about 2 weeks later.
Nevertheless I will send another one to them on this topic and post the details if I manage to get a reply before the end of the decade.

I finally managed to pay it by downloading the PEA app and entering far too many personal details with the possible exception of my inside leg measurement.
It's extremely cumbersome and it would have been just as easy to go to the 711 later this evening.
It looks like direct debit is by far the best way to do it but Bangkok Bank seems to want to make that difficult as well

Just set up a direct debit with the BKB, and get an sms when paid, simple.
I tried to set up direct debit but it requires a "tax ID."
I tried various numbers on my electricity bill but none of them were recognised.

I have the same frustration with BKK bank's mobile app. Kasikorn bank's mobile app makes it dead simple and that's one of the reasons I bothered to open an account there as well.
Unfortunately my local Kasikorn will not allow foreigners to open accounts.
Unless you have a work permit!
Idiots. -

OP, I can relate to your dilemma, bkk bank and trying to pay PEA. As you say, the banking software wont scan the QR code, PEA isn't listed as payee etc. At the moment I go through a ridiculous procedure using the PEA app, which takes me to a BKK bank login (doesn't log me in even though the app is on the same device), need find login details and enter, then it knows about PEA and the amount of the bill. And then the bkk bank insists on a OTP to pay the bill.
I have just setup truemoney wallet, so will start to use that next month.
Yes I was afraid it might be as complex as that, which is why I avoid using any Thai apps. From my experience, they are either ridiculously complicated or completely unusable. I'll have a look at true money.
-
Thanks for the contributions. I've looked into them all and still none the wiser.
The list of payees on the Bangkok Bank website is huge, covering just about every possibility including court fines but with the glaring omission of the PEA.So, as sammieuk1 suggests its 7/11 as before.

The small town where I live we has very few farang tourists and next to no Chinese.
Yet, we have a bustling night market.
Why do so many people seem to think that Thailand is Bangkok or Bangkok is Thailand?
