yeah good point re the tourism potential coming from Africa is nothing huge unless you count the hordes of Kenyan and Ugandan girls that use to line the lower end of Soi 4 at night. I think I will just transit via BKK to Phnom Penh and do 21 days free to do whats I want there which turns me back ti green status .and then can come back in under test'n'go.. and the bars are open in PP.......

yeah it sort of feels strange to read this happening.. like "Toto we aint in Thailand anymore" if they continue on with fact and analytically based assessments then this forum will be starved of fodder and no doubt face its demise .... TAT announcements have been such a joy to read in past, lets hope the voice of reason and factual assessment doesnt permeate far. if any here want to recap some of the best the standout one to me was TAT announcing first expected visitor count by air when Phuket sandbox opened .. unfortunately their number far far exceeded the total seat count of all carriers flying into Phuket in the designated time period.... ahhh the good old days

Australian national and NON IMM visa. If i dont fit under ' eligible foreign expat' then I cant do sandbox rather 14 days quarantine as I have come from Africa ( low risk country Kenya). That was the whole point of my question what is definition or criteria of " eligible foreign expatriate' .. thanks anyway

Lived in TH last 10 years as a BOI work permitted expat.. left TH on Nov 5th for business trip to Kenya and now trying to get back via Blue Zione sandbox.. haven't been to any other country than Kenya which is not designated high risk The following is on the TAT website under Blue Zone sandbox category which was updated Dec 16th So how does one ascertain what exactly is an "eligible foreign expatriate " ? Currently, travellers from 8 African countries – Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe, which are listed as high-risk countries are not allowed to enter Thailand. The rest of the African countries are listed as low-risk countries. Travellers from these countries or those who have stay in these countries in the last 21 days will not be eligible to enter Thailand under the Sandbox Programme. Returning Thais and eligible foreign expatriates, who previously travelled from Thailand, are exempt from this requirement, except for those from the 8 high-risk African countries.

Omicron will have less propensity to mutate than Delta.. ( but it is still possible). The lesser propensity arises from the fact that it does not provide a life and death struggle based on evidence we have seen so far ( stress the words " so far") comparative to Delta variant. An ideal case for mutation is say a immune compromised person who is fighting a long battle with Delta and this is a breeding ground for mutation.. astoundingly there are reports that some of the Omicron mutation include splices of common cold virus as well.. perhaps accounting for its mild symptoms...if Omicron stays as a mild effect that the bodies immune system can handle then it will be an advantage to have it spread through the population base with special care to those who are sick, compromised immune systems and elderly ......

100% agree with this.. I just flew to Kenya from TH over the weekend.. at QATAR check in at Swampy showed passport, East Africa visa, COVID test <72 hours old, Thai issued vax passport, Kenya track code ( downloaded from Kenya website that does work), proof of accomodation and was soon strolling through a very empty terminal on the way to the departure gate.. on Kenya side it was rinse and repeat , no more than 5 minutes in front of desk time at check in in BKK or arrival in Nairobi

The certificate is given to you when you get your second jab at least it was for me, also available on the Mor Phrom app. For the vaccine passport I wasn't going to try and make a booking though the app then go out there, find parking , <deleted> around with the normal <deleted> that goes on in these places then sit around for 2 hours waiting ( there is always a delay) so went into Bumrungrad hospital paid 1550 THB and spent 20 minutes doing it and I will have it in 3 days .....
