Motorcycle Thailand has the English version of the Honda Forza 300 owners manual available http://www.motorcycle.in.th/filemgmt/index.php?id=208

  2. MS-Windows and Antivirus programs some have no problems and some users see the old famous blue screens way too much. The reason is that now Antivirus program developers start to develop 64/32-bit aware versions of the programs.

The problem is that you run your 32-bit Internet web browser and a 64-bits plugin/program sees dangerous activity and you all you get is a Microsoft famous blue screen. As a 64-bits program/plugin cannot really work well with the way Microsoft made 32/64-bits compatible.

I’m pretty sure that most people who have problems with antivirus software are using 64-bits versions of MS Windows. If you use 32-bits MS-Windows you probably have no problems as all programs are running 32-bits and no compatible issues mess-up the system.

  3. Our standard platform (computers) is equipped with a minimum of 8GB memory (we have systems that go up to 32GB, but that is rare). To our experience especially web designers who use MS Office 2007 (Word) and Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 extensively find that the computers are starting using the memory to file swap faster.

Just to make it clear for both MS Office 2007 and Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 are not 64-bits versions available. Upgrading to MS-Office 2010 or 2013 just cost too much. OpenOffice is an option as most web developers only use the word processor to write text or edit text for the website or web application.

We also looked at running Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 with Linux by using Wine, this seems to be the best option as every Wine session seems to be able to address 3.25GB memory (meaning that two 32-bits Windows programs can use 6.5GB memory) running the same two programs with 64-bits MS-Windows you’ re limited to 3.25GB memory.

In our office we have 3 official operating systems, first is MS-Windows, followed by Fedora Linux and as last but still very popular with the graph designers is Apple Macintosh OS X. Comparing any of the currently available 64-bits Microsoft operating systems I have to say that Microsoft is way way - yes very far behind Apple, and even Linux (the free operating system) is much better in handling memory.

  4. MS Windows 7 as 64-bits operating system, is it a smart choice? Yesterday I compared it with MS Windows 7 32-bits.

First without starting any programs MS Windows 7/x64 uses over 1gb memory, what is about 340mb with the same installation with MS-Windows 7/x32. The memory use of MS-Windows 7/x32 is similar to how much Fedora 17-x64 is using.

The thing starts to get much different when you start to install and use software. Most Internet web browsers are still 32-bits, and 32-bits web-browsers do not work with 64-bits plugins and visa-versa. Wow, Linux had that problem 8-years ago, but now-a-day for Fedora 17 all plugins and software is 100% 64-bits, still for any old plugin Firefox can use 32-bits with the help of a wrapper.

Anyway this story is about MS-Windows so lets concentrate on that, while using software we have now, MS Office 2007, Adobe Dreamweaver CS6, web browsers and some other programs we found that the MS-Windows 7/x64 runs out of memory faster, and starts swapping to harddisk than MS-Windows 7/x32.

Microsoft Thailand explained us that the problem is that most of our software is 32-bits and therefore we are limited to 3.25mb memory, and because MS-Windows 7/x64 uses more than 3 times more memory without using any programs 64-bits MS-Windows is slower than 32-bits because with heavy usage it will start swapping memory to harddisk much faster.

We could of course upgrade MS-Office 2007 to a later version which supports 64-bits, but that would include an additional 12,000 THB per computer. Illegal software is not an option.

these bikes are only for sale in one shop in Bangkok and one shop in Chang mai the pricing is fixed no dealer Mark up as only 1 dealer sells them visit the shop they will have all the info you need , as for colour choice up to you as they say

Sold at one dealer in Bangkok, and what about service? Will Honda have only one service location in Bangkok, with a population of around 12 million? Also the Honda BigWing dealer is not exactly next door, so for service you need to take the afternoon off to get the bike serviced and with one service center it will probably correct to say that they will not fix it in a few hours....

Man, they want to sell 600 bikes a year not 12 million it is not about to popullation! Same as kawa they had one shop for 4 years in bangkok and they sell thousands of bikes.

Besides, they have enough space and tools to fix 600 bikes efficiently so for bangkok it is ok.

Buf if you are living outside of bkk hard days are waiting for you. They have to open more shops outside of bkk quickly. Hope quicker than kawa.

Honda BigWing location in Bangkok is not exactly what I would call a central location, the difference with Kawasaki Bangkok is for example that every few minutes a free taxi passes the Rama 9 shop. Also if you live in the Silom area bringing your CBR500R in for service and picking it up the next day can set you quickly back 600 THB per happening...

Since December 2010 the worlds biggest motorcycle factory, Hero-Honda has separated from Honda Co. Ltd and is now known as Hero Moto Corp.

Since the separation Hero Moto Corp has established several interesting joint ventures and cooperations, including with Erik Buell from Buell Motorcycles, they also bought Bologna-based Engines Engineering and a few more high-tech automotive/motorcycle companies.

But a 2012 press release from Hero-Honda is likely not based on reality...

  8. Not sure if it's a good idea to buy a secondhand 125cc scooter in Bangkok if you not speak the language that well. As you probably need to ask some serious questions, which involves can I do a test ride... you didn't specify the level of mechanical knowledge, but you need to check a potential secondhand scooter very throughly as most of this scooters are ex teenager scoots who have the words 'take-care' and 'maintenance' in their vocabulary. They know how-ever extremely well how to modify a scooter to push every less drip of performance out of it... (often without proper tools and materials, like riding without air-filter, and modifying the damper in the exhaust system). Modifications like that influence the life expectancy of a scooter.

I recent bought a Honda Click 125i for a family member and was pleasantly surprised by the performance and handling of the scoot... therefore I can seriously recommend a Honda Click 125i.

  9. The problem is that my Intel processor just doesn't have Virtual Technology (VT) so I'm not able to turn it on.

The processor my notebook is using was used by almost all notebook manufacturers so I guess many more with a 2 year old notebook and computer will have the same problems.

Therefore check if the processor in your computer or notebook support VT otherwise you cannot install MS Windows 8...

  10. Yesterday I bought a Genuine version of MS Windows 8 Pro for my notebook, after a technician at Panthip repaired my notebook it was returned with a pirated copy of Windows 7. And while I have a genuine MS Windows 7 version at home I wanted to go for something new and I bought MS Windows 8 as I was planning a fresh installation.

The problem is that MS Windows 8 Pro needs a processor that has VT enabled, and of course the notebook I have doesn't have a processor that supports VT. The processor in the notebook is a Intel T4400 Core2Duo...

So be careful if you have a notebook / computer which you bought in 2010 or earlier as the processor likely doesn't support MS Windows 8...

So I'm back with MS Windows 7 and now also installed Linux....

  11. The verdict is that the Samsung Galaxy line of Phones and Tabs are no copies of Apple products, this according to an European court in The Hague, the Netherlands. The verdict has major impact on several Apple patents claims, as the defense of Samsung showed the court that all patent claims and registered designs where not unique to Apple, matter of fact Samsung suggested that they were inspired by movies like 2001 Space Odyssey (movie from 1968) and several other SCIFI movies in which the court could easily see that a hand-held tab computer design was not something invented by Apple designers, also the way of moving objects over a touch screen to get a desired effect was shown in movies long before Apple patented the idea.

Also the Dutch court was not amused that Apple entered altered photographic evidence that was purely intended to mislead the court. (Apple had submitted scaled photos of both the iPad and Galaxy Tab 10.1 while changing the size and appearance of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 so it looked more like the Apple iPad.)

The court in the Netherlands ruled that the way the Samsung mobile phones are using the photo gallery is a violation of a Apple patent, and therefore banned the Samsung phones from sales after October this year. Samsung already said that they will not delay the sales of new phones and that a simple software update will "fix" the problem...

The ruling of the Netherlands court will have affect in the whole European union... and the findings will probably influence courts around the world...
