Why don't you try the .................. and .................. pub on Soi .................... just off ..................... Road. It's opposite ................... You can't miss it. The landlord .................. usually has a lock in after .... o'clock.
Hope that helps.

Good idea Jockstar. Ok ... we're free agents at the moment so available to sign on free transfers. What more can you ask for? An instant back 4, midfield or even let us fill up your sub's bench! Who needs half a team this weekend???
Ha'way the lads!!

Is there anyone out there interested in starting up a football team based in the North of the city away from the central part dominated by Sukhumwit and Silom? Probably to encompass an area including Ladprao, Jatujak, Sai Mai, Wongsawan, Nonthaburi and Rangsit.
There are 4 lads at work (2 Liverpudlians, a Middlesbrough lad and myself) interested in trying to start a team. If we can get a team together we would be interested in playing some friendlies against other teams and hopefully later persuade a local business to sponsor us and gain entry into one of the local leagues.
If anyone is interested then please email me at [email protected]
Thanks

Why don't they stop building condo towers???
If these guys are pushed from the second floor of a townhouse they have a better chance of survival ...
-
A similar concept could be teaching inner city thugs in Manchester that they shouldn't mug the nice Japanese tourists trying to take photo's of them...
Good point, however even Manchester thugs don't murder people!
I respectfully request you to go to the following webpage. You'll find that Manchester is tops for murder in England.
Lovely place.
Sunderland can be pretty dodgy too!!
I lived in a street in central Sunderland around 1990 and within 6 months there were 6 people killed within the square kilometre I called home.
While there may be possibly more murders here in Thailand, there are certainly a far higher number of unprovoked attacks causing death or injury in the UK. This leads people like me to feel that even Bangkok is safer for your average person than a medium sized town in England.

A sad event.
The collapse does not say much for Thai building standards!!
So, you might as well say that the collapse of the twin towers in New York did not say much for American building stndards ....

Ko Surin off the west coast of Thailand is somewhere I often go. It's basically a national park with most people sleeping in tents. Around 1,000 people there this time last year. Anyone got any news on there? Thanks.
-
Does anybody have any news on how Ko Surin fared? It's pretty much out in the middle of the Andaman Sea, close to the Similan Islands and mnost of the accommodation is tents.

I agree that this is not the cheapest solution for perhaps friends or other american series which you might find on the street.. The specialised stuff is the brit angle..
Pricing is like that cuase this is a cottage industry style process onto DVDR's.. This does not have enough volume to be printed and propertly pressed.
DVD's come with a printed cover that is branded with the supplier and the DVD image inset, not identical to the normal but a clearly presented nice package. DVD's are DVDR's.
If interested in ordering email me through this board.. I will then send you the proper nice professional PDF for you to browse through and you order .. I can only say that as this is COD you have no cause for concern.
Sounds fair enough to me. Of course British DVDs are not as widely popular as American series and with it being a cottage industry the cost seems reasonable.

Well I think I may well buy some in England when I go back next week. There are some good deals on Amazon and also worth checking out Tesco
e.g. http://www.tesco.com/entertainment/product...1&bci=3242|S_Id
or DVDs on the web
e.g. http://www.dvdsontheweb.co.uk/ProdDet.php?...BCDVD1013&c=dvd
Prices are tumbling quite quickly.
Anyone after something non British like Friends, CSI or 24 could possibly pick them up for 80 baht per disc if you buy several series. The wife haggled and got 3 seasons (18 discs) of CSI for 1,440 baht at *anti* *laza.

Thanks for the tip on Look Maew.
Is that 3rd fl UK or 3rd fl Thai?
It's 3rd floor (Thai). It's just past the cosmetic counters.
Do they have a very extensive collection that you can order from, or is it just one or two series?
Thanks ..

Any covers with these DVDs?
-
A very good selection there. Anybody done business with this young man? Presumably at double the price of series like CSI, 24, Friends, etc. the costs include P&P, right?
Interesting. Would welcome feedback from anyone who has ordered and received DVDs already.
You must have a big garage!!

I dont beleive the bars are closed on the 9th/10th.
I asked a friend of mine who runs a bar in Phuket if he was closed he replied "Nope, open as usual"
Thanks, Sir Wolfie.

Could the informed let on as to whether local pubs will be closed or restrict alcohol sales on the evening of 9th or 10th December this week?
Thanks ...

Does anyone know of anywhere that sells DVDs for series such as Blackadder, Alan Partridge, Fawlty Towers, Little Britain, etc ... ?
Thanks for any sensible suggestions

Looks like you are right about Luton Black Cat, but where's that in third place ?
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml...26/nluton26.xml
It's a misprint ... that's what it is! We are third in the Championship.
Top 50 list of worst places to live in Britain:
1. Luton
2. Windsor
3. Newcastle (near Sunderland)
4. Edinburgh (joint 4th)
Glasgow
crap towns, crap book ...
-
I don't wish to sound faceitous but have you thought about returning to England. Apart from being a better place to live, access to football is better
It's a bit pricey going back every weekend. Otherwise I would agree with you.
Isn't Luton that horrible little hole down south?
-
Thanks, I will.

I am aware that they pick up South Africa's cable TV station "Supersport 3" in Pattaya. Does anyone know of a bar in Bangkok that has this channel?

I know that some people will be amazed that with UBC's over supply of football there can't be any other games that anyone would want to watch ... but a few Sunderland fans would like to know, as we're on the box tomorrow night aginst Ipswich.
A big thanks in advance.

Wouldn't come here for X'mas if I was you. Nobody's interested. Bloody expensive too. Best stay in Manchester and spend your money at Old Trafford or Citeh.

Good to see that the Labour party in England is proposing a ban on smoking in most public places - including all pubs that serve food. Now isn't it time that Thailand's bars and pubs followed suit?
http://edition.cnn.com/2004/HEALTH/11/16/britain.smoking/
Before pro-smokers start complaining about their rights and freedom, maybe they should pause and consider whether they would like me to dump toxic waste outside their home because after all it's my right to do that, isn't it?
It's not only non-smokers who would welcome being able to have a few beers without reeking of smoke. A number of smokers have already admitted it may in fact help them to give up.
If it's a means of compromise I don't mind having 'smoking pubs' set aside for those who revel in the atmosphere of a cancerous, toxic cloud of fumes.
Let the arguing begin ... if there's owt left to be said like ...
