This week extended my Thai Driving license by another 5 years …. In a Gov Department in Chiangmai … took all of 35 minutes …. Difficult to beat that … Kudos to Gov organization there.

Those who commented about not knowing Thai names ….. the Banks have a brilliant system called “Prompt Pay” …. all you need to know is the registered mobile number of the recipient. especially helpful for the less tech savvy

Did mine (Thai Wife 1 year Extension) at Chiangmai Immigration last Wednesday …. They were efficient and very friendly … I've been doing this since 2022. Kudo to Immigration … impressive. it took a total of 35 minutes …. The Visa Officer even proactively offered to do an updated 90 days … Here is the list from Immigration …. Ignore the highlights and ticks …. that was something just for my own organization.

'…. before, and now his married certificate date is not long enough with that visas. For example his marriage extension is for 2 years, ' Wow … 2 years … I've been renewing my Thai Wife visa now annually since I came here in 2002 …. (Chiangmai) … I've never been offered a 2 year extension …. max has always been 1 year … which Immigration Office gave your friend 2 years. They have also always insisted I bring my wife with me …. so did not know you could do it alone. BTW … coincidentally I extended my own Thai Wife visa just this week (Wednesday) in Chiangmai …. they were amazingly efficient and very pleasant …. took 35 minutes …. Kudos to Chiangmai Immigration …. many thanks.
