  1. So, are you saying you're a paodophile or something, personally i find those comments about a school bus pretty disgusting especially as you and your friend are probally some 50+ leering perverts. Have nothing against Go-Go's but >18

  2. 9-Look around at big shopping malls like The mall, central, seacon at

LadPrao, Ramkhamheng, Bangkapi, srinakarin, .....These are Thai

nighbourhood where middle class thai live, you will see lot of woman

at these places, i can say almost more than any part of bangkok

Bangkapi has the highest woman Ratio in Bkk.

Yeh, women are the same the whole world over. Best place to find them is in the shopping malls. Do a course in meditation. It comes in handy while you wait outside the fitting rooms!

Love points 1 to 8. Spot on I reckon!

  3. I'm sorry to say, but I think you are wrong, I have married 6 times, and my present wife is Thai, we have now been together for 12 good years, and I'll say you won't find better.

And in which bar did you find your seventh wife then? Just curious, I might know her.

    Joe , that's not nice :o

Hope one day you're brave enough to say that to someones face.

Could you show us a photo of your battered visage when that happens Joe.

Is that you Joe? Is that you in the Photo?

    :D

No, no. It's not him in the photo.

    But here's a recent one:

  4. Speaking of guitars generally, where would be the best place to buy a new or used half decent acoustic eg yamaha? and how much would I expect to pay?

How about doing the next visa run via Singapore. You'll get a bargain there. Prices are all on the net, whether you're after a Yamaha, or a Martin.

  5. I'm actually looking to sit on a beach somewhere and learn how to play the guitar if you have know any instructors who live near a nice beach and speak good english. I will pay for lessons, of course.

Once you know how to tune the thing, as Pluto says, get a chord reference book (Amazon.com) and every song you ever wanted to learn is on the web these days. Do a search in Google "song name" "artist" & "chords". Nine times out of ten you get numerous billboard sites where Joe Public has layed out the lyrics and chords for you. Have fun. :o

  6. I just think that Thai ladies are looking for a man mainly for financial support, security, material things and an exciting lifestyle, therefore they tend to seek out sad foreign men whom they can manipulate easily.

I like being able to offer a partner security. It's just that in Thailand it's a shed-load easier than elsewhere in the world 'cause you don't have to go out and borrow a quarter of a million bucks just to put a roof over her head.

Of course you watch out for the tricksters and the walking cashpoint syndrome. Life's a bitch when you have to trade one in isn't it. :o

  7. "They have started to charge to use the loo"

OMG!  The one time I used the facilities there it was just a squat toilet as well!  The loo was up near the ocean side back then and I think I could hear it hit the water! :o  :D

The Bamboo Bar pulls that as well, but I have to admit the first couple times I was there I don't think I gave the lady anything.  But the TG's all know the routine and take their 3 or 5 baht or whatever it is.

I can't pee while I'm having the back of my neck massaged, it stops the flow. I have to give him 10 baht to leave me alone.

  8. Hi:

Can I change my log-in name without losing all my credits?

This site is invaluable, and gets more airtime than my tv but, christ, why did I go and call myself SRH, am I really that boring?

Appreciate answers to the first question, but not the second eh.

    Thanks guys :o .

  9. I re-visited a few discos on my last visit to Pattaya.....

Lucifers - I quite liked the place, but can they pack anymore people in this place? Too bloody crowded to really enjoy yourself, but music/singers are really worth a look.

Xcyte - still tops in my eyes. I think its still hands down the best disco venue in Pattaya.

I've had some A1 nights at Lucifers and YES, check out the band cause they're ace.

How do I find Xcyte from Walking Street?

Also, anyone have any reports on 'Star Dice'? :o

  10. I am a relativey new arrival in Thailand (about two months). I have a lady friend that I have known for several months and am now living with her and family in an Issan city. Now that I am "on board" so to speak, she has cooled considerably to me, ie little or no affection. We had a "Tahi Traditional" marriage, but it seems like she may not be legally divorced. Her English is poor and my Thai zero. Any thoughts on such a situation??? Is this a common situation???

    Thanks

Get yourself a copy of 'Money Number One' by Neil Hutchison. Read a chapter everynight and, when you finish it, read it again. You'll soon get the hang of it. :o

  11. I met her on the internet, but we spent considerable time in getting acquianted.

Next time you have some 'considerable time' to spend on the internet, stick with this forum. It'll make you a lot more streetwise and won't cost you a penny mate.

That said, if you want to make yourself feel a bit better, many of us have been 'had' in Europe or the States. :o Ouch!

  12. I know ive made this point before, but ###### its tough finding anenglish girl to go out with here! as an occasional visitor (once a month), its just seems impossible to break into the expat scene! and Khoa San road certainly isnt my thing!, Oh well, back to the bar to cry in my beer

:o I've got one you can have mate. If you pay her air fare, I might get a bit of peace!

Be thankful for your other options if I were you.

  13. The toilet story was kind of re-assuring.

After a year or so of being married and living in the UK my best friend walked into their bathroom/toilet ony to find his Thai wife balancing on the rim.

I thought she was a one-off but maybe Western customs ought to issue an instruction with the visa's (multi-entry non-immigrant P, of course!).
