  1. I watch my things as in any other big city but I feel reall save in Bangkok. I wear my twin tone Rolex Submariner and some other jewlry etc. I will say that I lock up my goodies whilst the Darling is in the Hong Nan cleaning her goods. I will sayh that in China town, Chat. Mkt. Pan Tip Plaza, MBK and in Pratunam Mlt I'm really carewful and don't bring the good stuff, keep my money etc on a neck pouch around my neck...Other that those hot spots I feel very safe in Bangkok and Patong. Thai people are not theives by nature!

  2. Should be 10-20 less baht with a girl.. Have her ask for a better price, they'll indicate that a farang is there but at night you should get 80 v 100 to you hotel from Bangla!

  3. It appear that the water didn't reach 2nd road. Lots of debris along geach road in the area from Bangla to Soi Seapearl. The beach front hotels like Patong Bay and Cabanas got trashed.....The Patong Bay own is the mayor of Patong and said so in a speach. From the pics and info like Ocean/Super Market where the basement was under water and many hotels will be demolished. Seems that the business on Soi Seapearl, Bangla did ok whilst the others got more that wet. I haven't hear any reports on the North end of town but I bet the resturants, small houses on the ocean side of the road also suffered greatly. No reports on how far the water went up the north boundry road leading out of tow but a hill starts right away so that may have helped! I jyust looked over a list of hotels and most are OK. Again, those on the beach and in the south of town where the ocean is right across the street had some damage but not all were a loss.

What can we to.....Make it Patong for Songkran. Send you warm thoughts with an e-mail for a Songkran reservation.

  4. I just lookeat 138 pics by Nicke Kring of Mai Thai Bar in Soi Eric and I was brikenhearted. It will be a fews weeks before all the rubble is cleared but looks as though things are going to get back to same same fairly soon. I would expect to see things prim and proper at Songrkan.....

Seems that the buildings were much stronger that I would have expected! Many of the metal roll doors did their job and seems like just lost of debris.

I would say that if you hotel says for ahead I would go. Pleanty of action to be found.

My best to those whom endured the plight....Have a pint and you'll be right!

this pic is on Soi Sea Pearl about 150 meters from the beach road. Granted the is a direct path from the Ocean and a bit gap with some recently downed buildings but to have cars moved like toys is really a sign of how bad things are! Looks like the Shoe Shop and Beauity Salon are in place and the cars parked in the Thara Patong lot are OK. There are alot of Taxi's parked from there to the beach etc. I have been looking at lots of Photos and things don't look so bad. I'm wondering how things are south of Soi Bangla where there are no buildings between the ocean and beach road shops. I did see a pic of the far south end and looks like the few bars there seeem to be standing. Bangla looks wet but most of those bars and business have iron roll down doors. Soi Kateoy looke wet but still all the bars seem to be standing.

Soi Eric look wet but standing. Remember now in October the Bangla Sois a meter of flooding for a few hous. I wounder how Soi Tiger made it thru? I hope the LB's didn't have too much make up run!

  6. Thanks for promoting another site.

George.. It's a disturbing situation for lots of people, I think you should cut LivinLOS some slack about his URL post at this time..

He did preface his post with. "I have not been able to get thaivisa for most of today".

News has been spotty at best and is welcome no matter where it comes from.... and pictures, no matter where posted, are the best way to show the situation and help to quell the fears of many that have friends and relatives in the area at this time. Pictures show areas of destruction; but they also show people and areas that were not so badly hit as well.

Spot On....Here is a disaster where loved ones may be lost and we are getting territorial.....Ta Ta and not as in Young....

  7. One of the photos on Soi Sea Pearl showing cars piles up infront of Patogtn Friendship leather shop with the Thara Patong on the right and the beauty shop on the left indicates water much farther up that Soi Kateoy elvel on Bangla. Although the Bangla is right open to the ocean you can see by other photos lie King Fashion whish sits in the middle of Bearch road between Bangla and Sea Pearl doesn't look too bad. I expect to hear soon as I e-mailed offering to pay my Feb and April hotel bill in advance so as to keep as many staff on as possible. I'll post any and all news.

  8. There are ample boards on Patong/Phuket. Some body needs to pop this pimple on the but of a great place. The guy is so self centered if you disagree and have better info you get banned. I think the prick doesn't even leave Nanai Road.

  9. That board is part of his span system for junk motorbikes and way out of the action sleeping rentals. You are one of the worst posters there...A fountain of information and a really poor responder. Since you kiss up the the Moddie Tosser he will agree with your false posts. Boards like that run people out of Patong! You post on Patong and admit you've not been there is a year. Patong probably changes faster that and P4P town in LOS. He lives there and never gets off Nanai and ain't been the for a year.....A real info base!

  10. has anbody seen this guys board. He lives in Patong but can't answer basic questions. If you disagree or worst know more he jumps your <deleted>???

This jerk wad insisted that the returant attached to the Phuket Cabana (now Ipanima cabana or something) was called the Side Walk Cafe. It have been La Salsa from day one which was about Songkran '01. The have some great Cuban posters of Fidel and Che and other stuff. both out door and indoor ( great Air con)

seating. All lating spice fare with some real cuban cigars for sale. Pricey but very nice, TG's don't like the snack food but the fancy drinks and air con are a real winner. How could a guy not know about the palce. BTW, he also states that the Meter Taxi Que at Dom Muang starts inside and you pay at the counter... Anybody know about this guy? Bad for the town!

  11. There are also a few in Phuket Town. Grand Palace is like Christens and accesable fromt he car park at Robinsons. Have you ever had a lovely call out to you saying "Massage?". A quick glance reveals someone you would love to have a nud_e encounter and pleasureable sex with? Just as about a massage in you room and kindly as the young lady if she is interested. I took a massage girl from my favorit saloon and we had a lovely 2 week affair!

  12. Patong is very safe. Taht being said I have a really great insurace system. At night when returning to my hotel I use a tuk tuk. Keep your arms and valuables

well inside the tuk and you be fine.

  13. Get a Tuk tuk to Patong. The buses that we talking about are not the big busses that go around Thailand. From the bus station. The inter Island bus terminal sort of terminal is on Ranong west of the circle and the Province bus terminal is N of Phang Na Road @ Tilok Uthit 2nd which is east of the main road out of Phuket Town. That is a very good way to ship things areound LOS. Very Cheap but they have to go to Bus station on the other end for P/U... Big boxes for kids in Korat etc. How did I know about that?????? I have taken the bus to Phuyket Town from Patong as it stopps near Big C and now right at Central and the discount shopper place.

  14. Patong is getting cleaned up. Look at the new compelx on the beach next to Ipanima, the <deleted> place on Soi Seapearl is down with the who street up to the beer bars going to be new and that is next as the land is not public! Patong is a mix or rural and tourist. Just look at all the building that is going on! <deleted>, Im there every other month and the place is alwasy looking differnet!

  15. The is most certainly a bus that runs from Patong Beach to Phuket City....Unless the responder doesn't cononsider there larest beach in Phuket a beach. True that you'll need to change busses in Phuket City but I pose that the 200 to Kata/Karon via Tuyk is better that 15 baht to Phuket Ciuty and another 30 to Chalong and then back to Kata....Cheaper ain't always better, as I often say
