  1. Expensive? Maybe in Sweden and Norway, but not Denmark. Converted prices to baht. Can buy 30 Tuborg for 450 baht which is 15 baht a bottle on sale in the large super markets. Bottle of Smirnoff vodka is usually 350-450 baht on sale. Bottle of bailey usually 400-450 baht on sale. A standard cheap red wine like Thailands Peter Vella would cost like 150 baht. So Thailand are more expensive for Danes when it's about alcohol prices. Which is also why a lot of swedes come to Denmark to shop alcohol. We can't compete with Thailands beaches, food prices, weather in our winters, green lush surroundings, plus all of Thailands lovely islands. In my perfect life i would live in Denmark from may to september, and then live in various places in Thailand the remaining 7 months.
  2. He is from Serbia so that has maybe something to do with it? Serbia have 47% fully vaccinated which is ridiculously low. Just like many of the other eastern European countries. Why do so many eastern Europeans countries have so many anti vaxers?
  3. Here is what Rafael Nadal has to say about that. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2022/jan/06/rafael-nadal-novak-djokovic-australian-open-tennis-vaccinated “The only thing that I can say is I believe in what the people who know about medicine say, and if the people say that we need to get vaccinated, we need to get the vaccine. That’s my point of view,” said Nadal. “I think if he wanted, he would be playing here in Australia without a problem. He made his own decisions, and everybody is free to take their own decisions, but then there are some consequences.
  4. Where did he get those numbers from? We had the highest numbers of positives registrered yesterday here in Denmark and it was: 28,283 positives from 231,270 PCR tests. Maybe i need a new brain, but daily infections can never average at 41,035 if the highest daily number was 28,283 which we had yesterday. The last 7 days we had 119,953 cases which average at 17,136 daily.
  5. A negative PCR tests prior to the departure will not give you a guarantee to test negative on arrival. You could have the virus at the time your first PCR test is taken, but it might not test positive until the next day which unfortunately is the day you land in Thailand for the next test. Traveling to countries that require test on arrival is a gamble.
  6. Thailand should look at other countries and see what they do to please their tourists. Canary island offer free covid insurance. Denmark offer isolation in Hotel and food free of charge for tourists that are tested positive and are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms. And I'm sure a lot of other countries have similar things for their tourists. If Thailand want their tourists back they have to offer them something, and a bunch of restrictions are not the solution in the long run.
  7. Spend x mas and new years eve on Tenerife and it was great. Nice weather, great food, cheap beers and the place were full of tourist. It's possible to travel during the pandemic and the Canary islands has 4 levels they follow. None of them include the closing down of restaurants or bars and they are at level 3 atm. Just needed a vaccine pass to travel. No tests before flight or on arrival. Those islands are getting a lot of the money that normally would be spent in Thailand. Not the last time i will go there if this pandemic continues and Thailand insist on keeping their restrictions.
  8. How can you not like a vaccine that has saved a lot of lives globally? A LOT. I can understand you are tired of the theater and politics, but not the vaccines. It's not like it a brand new technology invented just before this pandemic. The reason they could make the vaccines so fast, were because of that research and development going on for years and years. Give them some credit for spending billions and billions prior to the pandemic.' Sure they make money now, but they also took a huge risk before that. You might want to read up on the mRNA tech and you might as well get used to it. It's here to stay and within 10 years we will see the same tech used for treatment for a lot of other diseases, like cancer as example. You can come back and factcheck in 10 years from now ???? No reason to fear new technology and progress.
  9. Was going to suggest that too. https://www.diabetes.org/diabetes/skin-complications
  10. Not the studies i looked at so many we just seek info at different sites ???? Let's just agree that Omicron so far seems to be milder, and that sounds promising. As of today we still have the highest spikes in DK during this pandemic, but the director of the serum institute still think we will be back to almost normal in a few months. (Todays numbers are 231.000 PCR test and they showed 28.000 positives, so we still test like crazy, but our positive rate is over 10, so that indicate we have a lot of positive people running around in the public) Time will tell and now i will go book a time for my Pzifer booster ????
  11. If the omicron variant will operate as a live attenuated vaccine, how can it also deliver a stronger immunity stimulation? Does attenuated not mean weakened? It's also just something he suggest is it not, so no data backing his claims? A bit confused since recent studies shows that getting a booster after being infected raise your anti bodies by a lot compared to just having the infection and no vaccines.
  12. Yeah that is possible if you live here in Copenhagen and can't isolate at your own home. Hotel and food are free, but you can only go there if you have mild or no symptoms. I haven't checked if other cities offer it too. The City of Copenhagen offers a voluntary isolation stay for citizens infected with COVID-19, who cannot isolate themselves at home. Tourist or temporarily in Denmark. You may be offered an isolation stay. Video: https://www.video.kk.dk/secret/68566646/0bad1656c43250ba7f6fb2ea9e274633
  13. Netflix. Cobra Kai Series might sound weird to watch as 50+ , but just love the throwback to the 80's and the memories from back then. Did a rerun of Norsemen on Netflix, just because it's so damn fun ????
  14. Talked to 2 colleagues today and they had different opinions. 1 had cancelled the vacation he planned for this month and the other one insists on going to Thailand in Feb, well aware that a positive test on arrival could ruin it all. I guess it's all about how much you are willing to gamle.
  15. Just noticed it was first discovered in mid november, before Omicron emerged, and since then Omicron took over in France. Does that not mean the new variant were not able to beat Omicron to the finish line so to speak?
  16. IHU har fewer mutations on the spike protein compared to Omicron, so that's a good thing is it not?
  17. Yeah i read that too ???? If you want to dig in, the report is here. Shows the unvaxed are still overrepresented in the stastitics, so still a good idea to get a shot. Their report is a mix of english /danish. Overall it's positive that this report too shows omicron tends to be milder than Delta. But we don't know the exact numbers of omicron in Denmark anymore. Until Sunday 19th December 2021 near all positive SARS-CoV-2 samples were tested with variant PCR to identify Omicron cases. As of Monday 20th December 2021 only a representative sample of the positive SARS-CoV-2 samples are tested with variant PCR at TCDK, hence, the number of identified Omicron cases of does not represent the total number of Omicron cases in Denmark. https://files.ssi.dk/covid19/omikron/statusrapport/rapport-omikronvarianten-03012022-9gj3
  18. I listen to all sorts of music from the 60s to current data. And all sorts of genres. Really a mixed taste of music, but that's nice because then i can listen to more ???? A few favorites i have are Rammstein, Depeche mode and Nephew (Danish band) Here is one with Rammstein. One with depeche mode. One with Nephew.
  19. If you are into that stuff you might to check out Nostradamus. Another even more interesting man was Edgar Cayce. Read a lot about these men and they fascinated me many years back, but time convinced me that the world is not so mystic as we try to make it.
  20. They could turn it into a moving isolation platform for farangs tested positive for covid. Choo choo, all aboard.
  21. yeah i know about both Nostradamus and Baba Vanga and they are just fun material. I can make 1000 predictions and probably hit jackpot on quite a lot, but miss even more ???? Just like all the covid experts has hit and misses during these covid times ;)
  22. Maybe i used a wrong word to describe it. https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.12.27.21268278v1 Our findings confirm that the rapid spread of the Omicron VOC primarily can be ascribed to the immune evasiveness rather than an inherent increase in the basic transmissibility.
  23. We're doomed anyway ???? Nostradamus predicted a large war close to 2022 and also predicted that the echo system would collapse due to hotter climate. Both those are not far fetched if we look at the current climate and Taiwan/china or Russia/Ukraine Baba Vanga predicted a new virus in 2022. She also predicted large floodings and more earthquakes in 2022 Not that far fetched either. One of the more funny predictions are baba Vanga predicting that aliens would finally reveal themselves in 2022. We're in for one hell of a year. Aliens, world war, pandemic and climate collapse all in one year. And here i thought it couldn't get any worse ???? https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/most-terrifying-2022-predictions-new-25823032
  24. I see many on these fora recommend taking a home test and then just stay at home to avoid hospitals. Is that the best idea? Wouldn't you want other people to know you got COVID so the ones you been in close contact with, they too can get a test and isolate if positive. That's the whole idea of testing is it not.
  25. So can any of these thai politicians recommend a mobile game. I need a new one after Genshin impact. Yes I'm 50+ and play games ????
