If your landlord refuses to give you a copy of his ID card and Tabian Ban, inform Immigration of that fact and take whatever other proof of address you have. Alternatively find a more appreciative landlord.
If you can't contact him, how do you pay the rent? Stop paying the rent, I'm sure he will soon contact you.
So if that required evidence is copies of your landlord's id and blue house book, as i have heard, and he refuses to provide them or he cannot be contacted, what then?
Do you have a rental agreement?
Bills in your name to that address?

Many people pay their rent thru an agent..my previous landlord lived abroad and I only see my current one two or three times a year.Hoping it won't be a problem for me...can you imagine having to move because of this...or worse losing your extension?

Looks like Jomtien is OK..for now.On Facebook it is being suggested that this is linked to Thai landlords not declaring rental income for tax and farangs are being used to uncover them. And if some innocent person loses their visa because their landlord won't cooperate..tough titties!
-
Jomtien was fine.
Last time I reported was told just bring passport next time no forms or docs.,then you read about all this extra paperwork. What if your landlord won't help?

For extension based on retirement..and tenants who rent from Thais. It seems you are not allowed to rent from foreigners.
-
Came upon this situation on Facebook..Phuket immigration and others now want a copy of house owners ID and house blue book, when doing a 90 day report, not always easy to get from your landlord.
Anyone know about this..I report at Jomtien soon?
-
Thanx for both replies,so it seems I don't need to do everything the same day although it is an option.

Does Jomtien immigration soi 5 expect a withdrawl from your bank on the same day you apply for a new retirement extension?Last year when I was granted my first extension I made a small withdrawl early in the morning before getting my bank letter which showed this transaction and I only had to photocopy the last entry in my bank book, because I heard this was required. Is it still required or was it ever?Thanx guys..

Immigration at the airport will not put anything in your passport to do with 90 day reports. You have to count the days yourself.
When you do your 90 day report immigration will check your entry stamp to see if you are reporting on time.
Thanx m8..

You will be stamped into the country up to the date your extension ends.
You put you re-entry permit number on your TM6 arrival card instead of a visa number.
You 90 day report will be due 90 days form your date of arrival including that date in the count.
Thanx Joe...I meant TM 6 oops...so do they replace the slip in the front of your passport with a new one telling you to report 90 days later?

Hi,
I have a one year retirement extension and understand I need a re-entry permit when I go back to England soon.Just wondering on return at Bangkok airport what stamp should I expect Immigration to put in my passport,my 90 day report isn't due when I'm away.Do I reset at 90 days or is that only if my report day expires whilst abroad? Also I've heard I should put my re-entry permit number instead of my visa number on my TM 47 card?Being my first time I don't know so some advice would be appreciated, thanx.

<<The day before is acceptable at most offices. CW for is same day. A bank book update on same day is needed at the majority of offices.>>
There was a post a couple of months ago (?), someone submitted the bank letter and the bank book update which showed differing amounts.
Both more-than-satisfied the financial requirements, but the TV-poster got knocked back by Immi. because of the discrepancy.
To get an updated bank book update, you need to make a transaction that day. So you may need to withdraw 200B, then deposit it straight away,
then do the bank book update... AA
Or you could make a withdrawl earlier that day before getting your letter then do an update and go to immigration, all the same day?

Thanks Joe : )

Thanks for the advice, didn't know the bank letter had to be same day..

Will be applying for a one year extension for a non-imm-o visa soon when my 800k baht seasons, would a copy of my house rental agreement normally be enough for proof of address at Jomtien soi 5?Thanks for your help..
-
The bank letter I got didn't have my address on it. Also, the bank didn't ask for proof of address when I changed it. The point of the letter is to show you have the money not to prove your address.
But to avoid any confusion, why not just update your address with the bank. It seems like the obvious solution.
1. Change address.
2. Ask for letter - then address will match.
I think you're trying to create a problem for yourself. Just change your address at the bank.
Can I refer you to my earlier post, about 7 hours ago, stating I have done exactly that, and thanking forum posters for their help.?

I used my bank book multiple times without notifying the bank of change of address. I also got the bank letter for immigration during this time. I told them I'd moved but not updated with bank yet and it wasn't a problem. Of course, it's best to keep it up to date, which I have now. Passport doesn't show address, so I don't understand remark about addresses not matching at the bank.
I haven't done this before,I thought maybe it would be a problem if my address on my TM7 didn't match with my bank letter if they put my old address on it.

You are talking after you obtain the extension of stay early in the year and yes it would be fine to change the account or even to use the money. But remember it must be in an account 3 months prior to application next time (which may be up to 30-45 days before the one year extension). If you intend to keep it in an account for extensions/emergency use of a long term FD cash account is normally fully acceptable to immigration but you can confirm that when you make your current extension.
Good,I will most likely keep the 800k seperate from my spending money, and it would be nice to get some return on it,thanx for your advice

Thanx everyone, just back from Kasikorn, very helpful, new address and new passport reported.Just waiting to transfer 800k from England. If my application is successful is it ok to move the money into a higher interest paying account straight away or is it advisable to wait?I have a current account paying about 0.75% now.

Thanx, never even thought about new passport,on to it now

Hi,A question about TM7 and bank letter showing 800,000 baht seasoned for 2 months..
I am intending to apply for a 1 year extension of stay in the new year and was wondering if I should inform my bank that I have changed adress?Does the letter from the bank in support of my application show my old address which would not match my new address, and would that be important?
I suspect I am worrying about nothing but I would rather be 100% sure before I begin..thanx

For the Pattaya readers. Has anyone ever noticed the foreign guy with the black beard who always sits in the police box on Sukumvit. He is usually sat at the Theprasit junction? Always wondered if anyone knows what his story is?
Regularly,I stay on Khaotalo not far from his usual haunts.Word is he has lost everything to a Thai wife/girlfriend.I wish him no harm but I wonder why the authorities just ignore him.Surely it would be better for all concerned if he was repatriated?

The problem here is potentially applicants for extensions can be refused for something entirely outside their control.
