  2. I've been here in Pattaya almost four full weeks by now. My girlfriend says that she can get me a non-imm visa so I don't have to go back on Monday. She says it'll only cost 30,000 baht. After having searched this forum I've gathered it is not wise to give that much money to a TG. Can she use my ATM-card to withdraw that money if I give her my pincode? I don't have a workpermit. Do I need to get one before I give her my ATM-card? It's a Visa-card in case that should make a difference.

No that should be no problem, heres a tip for you though, remember ALWAYS write your pin number on the signature strip on the back of the card, this way you will never forget it and if anyone wishes to use it they dont need to disturb you to ask for the pin number :o

  3. I’m looking to rent a VIP room in a music club, (maybe a club down RCA?) for my thai staff and my sisters (who are visiting next week!)

Does anyone know if any music clubs have such a thing in Bangkok?

    Thanks!

Your sisters are not old enough to go to clubs in Thailand.

  4. Back around March or April time a member posted a thread saying they were looking for pictures of Thailand or Bangkok to put on there website that they were constructing. Another member posted a link to there own site which had some great photos of Bangkok on it, alot of black and white pics.

Anyone know where the thread is? I have done multiple searches but cannot locate it. I was prety sure that it was Bkkmadness that was looking for the pics but a search of his topics yeilded no results.

    Help anyone?

    Cheers Noodles.

  5. noodles, you were 2000 and FIRST!

I´ll be 2006. Considering it is er... 2006.

Listening to an EXCELLENT song, and disc by an unknown (as yet) band.

Song: What I saw in you..... I didn´t see in me for years.

They are a local band from some hippy beach south of San Diego.

No Kayo if you read my post again you will realise what it says, then you will realise i WAS the 2000th reply on this thread.

  6. a great story with a good ending. brings a tear to the eyes of this exile.

and well done the people of shetland , but shame on the immigration dept as who , as usual, never get anything right. wanting to kick out the good'uns whilst allowing the bad'uns to stay.

Thats the difference between the UK and Thailand, If this had been a case about a farang in Thailand it would have just been 'SEE YA'.

would be interesting to see if a thai village would organise a campaign of support for a long staying falang who was being deported for some minor infraction of the rules.

Yes tax, my point exactly. Good on the islanders for supporting him, it shows that people realy can integrate and become a real part of the fabric of a comunity in the UK, unfortunitly in Thailand i dont think you can, even if you have been here most your life speak, read and write Thai etc etc you will still be on the outside.

  7. I tend to agree with Colypat here, people get in to a feeling of security which is infact false. Thai society can be an estremely violent one and there are certain sub cultures within Thai society you wont realise exsist until you fall victim to such.

I'm not saying that Thailand is anymore dangerous or safe than anywhere else but dont fool yourself in to believing that Thailand is not a violent place because it most certainly is.

  8. :o

Police Sergeant Somchai Wisetsingh, who was named Outstanding policeman of the year several times in Kanchanaburi by the River Kwai in Thailand

How can a river name him policeman of the year?

    - it would seem apparent to anyone that if he wants a river to say he is the Kan Cop of The Year, then fair enough.

And why not?. After all, old King Canute did his thing, Prince Charles talks to trees, and I often hear voices saying "It's all true, it's all true you know........". :D

    :D:D:D

  9. Nope. Lemurs.

    sifwalk.gif

Please outline the connection between lemurs flying planes and the internet being blocked, and I am sure you mean lemmings, as per Farangsay's post.

Nice pic though...I love baby animals, even if their parents are perceived as suicidal pilots.

I think it meant that the people in charge dont know what they are doing :o

  10. Well after reading all this i have decided i am going to cut down and only drink on a friday and saturday night, if i decide to go for a drink mid week then i shall miss the saturday. I only ever drink beer, i used to drink vodka but i stopped that after a few to many fluttering heart feelings after a heavy session.

    Cheers, Noodles
