  1. I remember wifey once saying to me when we were first living together that "if you beat me it ok.. I not leave you" I mean <deleted> !! what do you respond to that.

wife beating isn't common now days compairing to my parents and grand parents old days. Well, from what I've seen anyway.. My aunt used to get beat up by her husband all the time when they first got married. One day she had enough of it and she told him, if you ever beat me up again, I will cut your head off while your are sleeping. From that day on her husband never beat her up anymore.. shrug..

  2. How do u farangs with thai wife buy lands?

or u put it in your wife name?

Having a Thai wife does not change your rights as far as buying land is concerned, i.e. you still do not have any.

So, yes, if you want to buy land, you have to buy it under your wife's name.

I would like to keep it here thank you mod.

That means if she decided to leave you for another husband, you lose everything right?

  3. I would like to know if WHAT has started? Are people in Bangkok expecting violence or some kind of war or unrest? If so, who are the players??

The players? the mofos from deep south who wants nothing except violence and blood sheds.

If it started, be prepare to see the deep south burning like Beirut. :o

  4. Well, I'm sure there is no evil organization running Thailand but I would guess that eventually the poor will demand more from this country. The poor people here still are treated pretty badly by the people with power here; I'm talking about justice, pay, health insurance, education, and respect.

People in Thailand don't feel free to criticise those with power. If you speak Thai and talk to poor people you will know this. People still fear retribution violent or nonviolent for speaking out. A security guard in my building was beaten up by two ex-policemen connected to his company because they thought he stole keys to break into rooms. He didn't. The ex-policemen went wild on him in the name of the company (SSG security company by the way) sending him to the hospital. The local police did nothing for him. Everyone knows the victim and what was done to him. He ended up in the hospital.

His parents came from upcountry to take him home. He was paid 30,000 baht by the company for his beating. If he wants more he was told to take it to court. Of course he can't. Thailand should be defending its poor but instead it is spending money on other lavish endevours. What happened to this man is a terrible example of what Thailand really is. If you don't agree with this please please tell your story of someone from a dirt poor family getting justice here.

By the way, if anyone from the news would like to investigate this true story feel free to send me a message.

As for the initial poster I too get a feeling that there is a bit of anger in his post. It looks a bit like a troll's post but there is some truth in it. Do you really think that Thai people are happy with the way corruption is out of control here and how the courts are worthless? The people who I talk to put up with it but desperately want change. How long can they live like this?

I agreed there are still alot of corruptions here in Thailand. I see it almost in every months in Ubon where police would setup a check point to check people who are driving with out a driver licence. That's a good thing right? umm yes.no.. it's a very expensive penalty and the money goes into the police pockets as of they don't get paid enough by the Government. When you call the police to come break out fights, it took them 5 hours or more, and the police station is 4 blocks away. :o

  5. just make everyone speak in English, in SA the official language used to be Africaans, since the ANC got to power Mandella made a very wise move, he declared all 11 languages used (9 tribal and English and Africaans) as official languages, but also decreed the language of law and government to English, the logical choice as the international language of commerce

I agree, make English the "working language" of the south, couple it with the muslim work ethic and the natural resources there both ag and tourism, and pretty soon the south could be one of the wealthiest parts of Thailand.

If giving working language status to the lingua franca down there, helps diffuse the situation even a little bit, isn't that worth it?

I'm sure tourist love to go down south for vacation with all of these bombing and all. The south does have the resources of make it self being weathy but all they can do being is hateful toward the western and Thailand.

  6. Silliness abounds ... apparently Anek thinks that to kill the insane for being insane is OK. Anek also seems to think that there should be a death penalty for vandalising a car.

I see a real lack of compassion in that.

It is a very very sad thing that happened. I understand why it happened but it is still very sad!

Who let the insane man out to the society? What if that was your dougter instead of a statue?

  7. It's common I'm afraid - I've seen people kick the sh*te out of a farang that disrespected one of the shrines. Mess w/Buddah or the Royals and the full wrath of Thai(s) will come upon you. :o

Then don't do it, what benefits do you gain out of from actions like that?

You knew it's bad when you are doing bad things, you are thought bad from good since kid.

I don't care if its buddha statue, hindu, muslim, a house, people car, properties you just don't do that. I think, the man deserved what he got and that should make an examble out of others.

  8. How about this: Get a whole bunch of money together and buy ALL the land the muslims own down south and goodbye. Go buy land somewhere besides Thailand.

If all you can do is kill innocent people to make your point, then we'll buy you out and you can go to where your thoughts are excepted, namely Malaysia. If not there then go anywhere else but here but just leave.\

No killing, just pay you some money and LEAVE.

I'm just looking at an other alternative.

    ...........yeh....very practical huh....? :o

    send them to Iran hahaha

  9. When a critian part of Indonesia (timor) wanted there independence the U.N and all the European nations stood with it and supported them .they said they have the right to decide. None said that it is a part of Indonesia and will stay like that

There is a Muslim part in the Philippians want independence a part in Thailand wants it also and even Chechnya. Why cants they have the right to choose like Timor in Indonesia??

    if u ask me

I don’t believe they should have there own country none of them, even Timor they shouldn’t have been given it( we dont want more poor countries in the world). I think government should accept different cultures and religions in them and should give them the right to speak and respect their religion.

They can even make federalism government in that part just like what the Kurds had in northern Iraq

That will keep everyone happy and the country will stay intact and no one has to die.

I here people saying kill them all crush them all.beleive me that is not the way to solve conflicts.

    Where is your head?

Muslim don't have rights to be Thai?

    Are you kidding me?

They have every rights to live in a peaceful nation, but they choosen not to!, therefore like Bush said "you are either with us or with the enemy". I think Thaksin should do that too.
