  2. As a Thai man, responding to the topic, I DON"T feel bother by farang+thai lady abit.

It's a normal thing here... I believes it had a lot to do with our culture.

Of course, we think all farangs are rich. You have to understand most of Thai people are poor. It's a good thing if you have a farang husband because financially your life will be better. I'm sure some of your money are going toward her family and their lives are better because of you. Traditionally, when we are grown up, Bangkok is where go to works and send some money home to our family. If you have a farang husband you might not even have to work and beable to send some money home. I mentions a lot about the money, but this doesn't means your wife doesn't love you and not all Thai married you because of your assets. I'm sure some farangs might wonder about interracial in Thailand, because where you came from the culture is different.

We don't have racial problem here in Thailand. :o

  3. The road that goes by my farm was built poorly like the one in your village. They built it couple years back and it's still look brand new but full of pot holes some are foot deep. It is very scary driving at night on a road like this.

  4. It is illegal to gamble in Thailand, however the government can't control of what you do on the internet. I don't know how many Thai internet users there are. In China there are 78 Millions Internet users which is second largest below United States. That is a communist country and they like to be in control but there is no control.

  5. My nationality is British but my ethnic origin is Taiwanese. Working and living in Thailand i have been mistaken  for Thai (until i speak) and mostly Japanese too.

The first company i worked at was Japanese owned (although i worked on the English language puiblications)...the Thai staff thought i was Japanese, the Japanese staff thought i was Thai and when i told them i was English no one believed me as i look 100% Asian. It was just easier to say i was from Taiwan...

I have rarely been called a farang...

It's the truth. If you are Asian, people will not view you as Farang.

If you are an Asian American, the American will automatically look you as a foreingner.

  6. If you are Asian and not Thai we call you by your nationality.

Just looking at someone, without knowing anything about them, how would you know what nationality they are?

If you have a bad accent, we would know right away you are not Thai.

Yepoon usually has a lighter skins than any other Asian. They also tend to be fat or bigger than us Thai. However not all Yeepoon look like what I just had described.

Thai people like to guess, I my self has been mistaking for Kao lee (Korean).

Some people would tell you look like khon Kao lee or Yeepon only to make you feel good about your self.

Utimately it's all guessing unless you are a farang! :o

  7. -Khon Yee Poon (Japanese)

I am Yeepoon. But Thai people used to call me "Ajinomoto!" when walking down the Bangkok streets as a kid. :o Oh yes, I think I was once called "ai yun" too, a derogatory term for Japanese?

    We simply calls you Yeepoon..

Not all Yeepoon look like a Yeepoon.. if you don't tell we don't know

You're probably get treated good by Thai fellows due to your Nationality status.

  8. If you are white we call you "farang" and if you are Black American we call you " Farang dum" or "nego" is common because we don't know Black history. If you are Asian and not Thai we call you by your nationality. If you are an Indian, lwe call you "Kak", some arabs also falls into this category.

  9. I am considering moving to Ubon in the next year.  I have a GF there who makes good money, has a house and 2 cars.  I have visited a few times and like the people.  I am from the US but used to a slower paced lifestyle.  Money is really not an issue.  My question is what is there to do in Ubon.  Yeah i know about the lotus, big C, no movies in English.  I know where to play golf, but have never played on the military course there.  Anyone live in Ubon and have the 411 on what it is like there?  Thanks in advance for the help.

There are not much night life to do there.. except eat out and lil shopping places

There Some water falls places etc.. You can probably go rent DVD movies (English Lang)

I like to go out and eat at night there and enjoy a cooler weather than day time..

there is a place called "Hat kru dur" it's like a floating houses in the middle of a river where they serves you appetitzers and beers etc.. (real peaceful)
