Seems a rumour, however the Bang Kapi side of Ladprao could have some issues. But Ratchada / Ladprao junction up to Chokchai 4 is dry as a bone.

I have been using them for years for all of my water, usually 40 litres a week~
I have never been sick.
Boiling water is no good also as it does not filter out the chlorine and carbon / metals.

Which hotel?

High tide is due on the 27th, that is when Bangkok will be tested.

No one can answer this question, unfortunately you will just have to wait and find out. The gov are saying to expect "1m of flood water in Bangkok" however it's not guaranteed what will happen as no one has any real idea.
If you need an apartment or some long term accommodation, checkout our site or give us a call / e-mail

No water and it has 3m flood walls, it is and will be fine.

There are water machines everywhere, outside apartments /condos / shops that give safe water for 1baht a litre. So nobody can give a decent location to buy bottled water....?
-
I personally have two 25L drinking water barrels, which I use at a water machine for about 0.70 baht a liter. It's the next best thing to having a UV water filter fitted on the sink, which sometimes can't be done at certain condos etc.
The UV won't work if there is no electric and it won't kill the bacteria if no water, so fill up a 15+ litre as a backup.
whats the water taste like from them water purifier things?
Think the opposite of Perrier and other great tasting waters.
The local Family Marts in Hua Kwang area has been sold out on bottled water for two days now, i went to Big C and Tops Supermarket in Ratchada/Cultural Center aswell, same situation there.
Have stocked up with Juice, Coke, Fanta and Sprite, Milk, Soy Milk instead.
I was at Tesco in Phra Ram 9 last night and managed to get the last toilet tissue they had, there is no water or dried food there also. Same for Big C Ladprao left from the Ratchada - Ladprao section.

the 27 districts have been posted and are here:Here is a copy and paste from The Nation:
Bangkok governor orders evacuations of residents of 27 communities
October 22, 2011 6:03 am
Bangkok Governor Sukhumbhand Paribatra Saturday issued a warning for residents of 27 communities along Chao Phya River to evacuate immediately.
The governor issued the warning at 4:28 pm. He said residents of the 27 communities outside flood barriers should leave their homes immediately as the river is swelling.
(end of quote)
my comment: That's HOT news, of course. However, it grossly falls short of adequate information. Maybe the Governor didn't say, and the Nation didn't either: what are those 27 communities? Seems like essential information, to me.
I imagine I'm not the only one waiting to find out the answer!

Checking Chao Praya river north of Ratchawithi. 25 centimetres to the top. Frantic sand-bagging by locals, looks way too late/Via@aleursic
Chao Praya is not looking good
-
Above is correct, it basically said it needs people to help pack at Don Muang from 8am to 21:00.

Ladprao 35, the grand mansion is a cheap apartment and will have daily rooms.

Bang Yai and Taling Chan is also under severe warning the last report I read, Mo Chit seems to be the only safe bus station.he means sai tai mai bus station near Pinklao
-
Ratchada / Ladprao 100% clear, big road in Rangsit heading south to Dindaeng is flooded but bus's are still moving. Reports are saying parts of Phahon Yothin road but not confirmed.
-
Sai Tai and Rangsit are the areas that are currently flooded or will have a chance of flooding, Mo Chit is currently ok. It would be a good idea to travel to Hua Hin via victory and get a bus from there if Mo Chit becomes flooded.
-
No, unless you are on the ground floor then just take precautions, as far as we know the Chaopraya is being protected.
enjoy the Oreo's though, my favorite
-
Most people use Rajawongse on Soi 4 or Crown on Soi 8 Sukhumvit (Nana), personally I use the latter and would recommend them.
-
Depends what electric stuff, all computer electronic stuff = Prantip and Rama 9 fortune mall.

Drinking Water Supply In Bangkok
in Bangkok
Posted · Edited by ThreeProperty
The water filtration systems range from 4,000 - 6,000baht, some have 3 filters and some have 5 but always with UV. There usually is2 micron filters and a carbon filter, which filter chlorine and heavy metals / containment's,the UV is the only thing that kills Bacteria. So you need to make sure it is onand working before you start dispensing the water. The filters should be changed usually every 3 month's on the 3 filter systems (unsure on the 5 units) .
The water machines you see outside for 1baht a litre arethe exact same thing
Personally I have never bought bottled water, for one Idon't trust the supplier (previous scandals) and two, it's too expensive.
