There would be no market or need for Bolt and Grab if regular taxis would play by the rules and use the meter.

The motorcyclist was wrong undertaking the truck, but the truck didn't indicate his left turn.
This probably gave the motorcyclist probably a feeling of relative safety to undertake. It didnt work out for the motorcyclist. RIP.

A simple maths calculation shows this claim of 100 trucks to be absolute rubbish. I calculated maybe 15 trucks.
Let me enlighten you and perhaps you will understand why your comment is more rubbish than the article:
916 meter = 916 lane meters of 2.5 meters widtha 10-wheeler is approx 7.20 meters long
916 : 7.20 = 127 trucks but of course that is without taking in to consideration space you lose here or there.
100 trucks is a fair estimate and much closer to the ship's actual intake than your 15 trucks, which is in fact absolute rubbish....

The industry desperately wants and needs a return of tourists, these fools just make things worse every time they come up with another ill thought out regulation
They want tourists, but prefer the ones who can pay their own bills. If you've ever been in Thailand you should know the type of tourist they prefer not coming back

Many times I was under the rain with girls, and then the next day they were sick, at least with a sore throat.
Is there any reason to be sick after being wet by the rain ? Even when raining it's never cold here, so why being sick ?
Is it a virus or bacteria / germ ? And why without knowing the cause they always take antibiotics ?
Thank you, I really want to know.
My guess is that it isnt the rain that does it. Returning back inside again where the air-conditioning is at 19Celcius with wet clothes is more likely causing the problem.

he contradicts himself within the same sentence.... how can they be negative if they are waiting for the results
Reading is an art, isnt it?
He said that on July 14, 1,336 people who had tested themselves at mobile labs in Rayong were all negative, while 267 tests in a mobile lab in Bangkok had also been negative.
On July 15, 1,252 Rayong people had been tested of whom 1,247 were negative while five samples were still being looked at.
On July 16, 1,244 Rayong people were tested in mobile labs while 97 got a virus test in Bangkok. The results are awaited.
They're talking about three days 14th, 15th and 16th. negative test results available for 14th and 15th, while waiting for the test results for 16th. It doesnt say anywhere that the test results for the 16th are negative. it just says The Results Are Awaited.-

A helmet would not have saved the girl. Her liver was squeezed out of her body. I cant find anything in the article about lights, but I was told that actually no lights are required here when the visibility is 150 meters or more, even after sunset. Anyways it seems it was a daytime accident.

The legal age to ride motorcycle in Thailand is 15, so before accusing the girl of breaking the law better get your facts straight first. The fact that she had the legal age to ride a motorcycle of course doesn't mean she actually has a drivers' license. In fact she most probably didn't but that doesn't change the fact that there was nothing wrong with her riding a motorcycle at her age. It's just sad that a young girl with good intentions got killed in traffic by a coward who didn't have the common decency to stop. RIP little girl

The driver of the car didn't change lane or turn, he was in his own lane and got overtaken on his left in the same lane, clear case of motorbike drivers own fault. It doesn't matter if he used the indicators or not, they are only advisory and it doesn't even matter if he started to make a left turn/u-turn. He was overtaken which means its always the vehicle (yes, even in Thailand) overtaking who has the responsible to make a safe pass.
**Correction of myself, the motorbike driver didn't overtake, he did an undertake, double blame of the motorbike driver then.**
Not sure what makes you think that other have to learn traffic rules and that you are right. No matter where you are, if you in your car / pickup / truck / van / bus abandon the straight line you are driving (following the road) you have to check if it is in fact safe to start even the slightest deviation from a straight line.
This is the same worldwide. The fact that there is no enforcement here creates the space for improvising while driving, frequently resulting in accidents like this.
Rest assured, if enforcement in Europe, USA, Australia would take a month off the same will happen there.
The pickup driver is at fault, he didn't check if it was safe to leave the straight line.
I'd like to take the opportunity to mention that this driver made the exact same mistake that upsets so many forum members about Thai drivers: he didnt check his mirrors. So was he picking his nose hairs as well ?
The only thing that is worthwhile writing about in this case is the fact that the falang should hang, while if it had been a Thai driver as usual we wouldnt even have read about the accident-

Undertaking isnt allowed, also in Thailand, but this doesnt mean the driver of the pick up doesnt have to make sure it is safe to make his intended move by checking mirror and (if his age permits it of course) look over his shoulder first.
Unlike many other cases this is not a matter of falang to blame because he is falang.
Any driver causing an accident like this is to blame, just a bit less fuss when the driver is Thai, that's all.

This is Sulhumvit Road Laem Chabang, not a U turn a normal and simple right turn to get to the port.
Ample space for a professional wide right turn but the "trucker" either went for a shortcut or he is clueless about the dimensions of his combination
only one to blame: the trucker

I took delivery of the first Aerox 155 in Pattaya in January. Its the ABS version and has meanwhile approx 1,400 km on the clock.
The decision to go for this was based on its looks, the better seating than the pcx and a number of test drives on the pcx, which weren't enough to make me change from Click to pcx.
The Aerox was obviously bought without a test drive. Ordered in December without test drive was a bit of a gamble, but I don't regret it for a second.
The Aerox handles better than the pcx, has more modern looks than the pcx (even after some upgrading) and above all it is faster particularly uphill.
The only two points where the pcx scores better are
the large fuel tank
the steering bar / dashboard
For all the practical reasons: GO Aerox !
NB: Just read about an overheating problem. I am a fast rider as I like to stay as far in front of the pack as possible. more than 1,400 km on the clock since January riding mainly in and around town I havent experienced any brake problems or heating

Bad advice imho...I use both feet driving an automatic, especially in heavy traffic. I'm of the opinion that my reaction time is quicker since my left foot is already real close to the brake. I don't keep it on the brake pedal, but it can get to the brake pedal just about as quick as my right foot comes off the gas pedal.
Twice in my life, I have gone for the clutch on my automatic and found myself slowing down really quickly. But just twice in over a million miles of driving.
I've been told it's a bad habit, but it works well for me.
What if you need to make an emergency stop and instead of release the accellerator and brake you push both?
My advice for a beginner: keep your left foot as far away from the pedals as possible and use right foot only!
Surely you are just as likely to do this in a manual car?
Sorry, i didnt see this was a question to my comment.
In a manual car the left foot will go no farther than the clutch and the right foot will move away from the accellerator to hit the brake
Having is discussion at all means that a few driving lessons are a worthwhile investment

i see nothing wrong in that question. taking into consideration how regulated it is to get and keep a work permit, i am just as curious.
