  1. How about having a properly paid professional police force that will act without fear or favor.

A review of laws that appear out of step with developed nations across the globe.

Corruption, blatant or disguised, is not usually part of a developed nation.

Any one else want to add a few suggestions?

How a/b starting "small" (big for Thailand however) with trash pickup in villages, or running water (drinkable) in homes, or how a/b doing something with miles of dirt roads? Bigger things like internet, education, govt. transparency, and having a police force that is mandated to "protect and serve" (LOL yea right.... in Thailand? lol )?

Ah nice laugh to start the day.

They working on that. It's called work in progress!

  2. They are doing very well these Thais despite what you read about from thaivisa experts.

Huge foreign reserves, negative unemployment ( have enough jobs for 3million foreign workers) , growth higher than most western countries and thirty million tourists arriving this year.

    Very clever people.

What absolute BS & a typical myopic view!

Thailand is a 3rd world country and should have much higher reserves at the stage they are at in their development.

They should have been growing at 6/7% per year for the last 15 years. They haven't due to political problems etc.

What happens when the Thai workers become too expensive?

What happens when the people cry out for welfare reform etc etc

Look how the Saudis and other oil nations are burning through their reserves.

It will not take much to tip Thailand into a similar scenario.

Thailand and Singapore are the region's foreign reserve "leaders" take it or leave it!

  3. True, but it's the world's largest low quality brothel. If there is a country in the world where most women are totally unskilled and uninteresd in sex, this is Thailand. It's easy to have sex in Thailand, but difficult to have good sex. It's easy to get into a relationship in Thailand, but difficult to get into a good ,meaningful, adult relationship.Any guy having experience with ' latina' will agree with me...

  4. It occurs to me that to be a simple gas explosion, there would need to be some considerable time for some gas leak to build up to a concentration that was combustible. I'm not an expert and not sure what type of gas would be used at the Lee Garden Plaza, but I think the concentration would have to get to at least between 2 and 5 % of the atmosphere for the chance of an explosion. It seems likely that someone would notice a gas smell before that amount could have built up. Does anyone have any expertise on this matter? Is it possible that a terrorist could intentionally set an explosive close to a gas pipe in the basement area? Are there immediate signs that would have indicated a gas versus other type of explosion that would have led to an expert guess that this was a gas explosion?

When I lived in the USA a house on our block had a gas explosion. It literally leveled the house to the foundation and threw debris all around the neighborhood, breaking windows and damaging many nearby homes.

A gas explosion is VERY powerful. Would not be surprised if that was the cause here. Usually the Thai terrorists don't make such large bombs.

    Thai terrorists? ohmy.png ... a rai na?

Unique wording, and careless wording from yourself there! Mai dai! sad.png

    -mel.

Yeah sure it may be more appropriate to describe them as moslim separatists in the deep south!
  5. There is a proper nasty streak through all of these threads. The Thai police investigated his crimes and issued and international arrest warrant which was enacted in Prague. I say

Well done to the Royal Thai Police!!

I hope this case gets plenty of publicity as the word has to get out to Paedophiles worldwide, your time abusing Thai kids is up.

I agree! I hope this story will be a message to all these sick Paedophiles that they aren't welcome here anymore! The Thai police will hunt your ass down and beat it!!
  6. Every country has its faults. Thailand is great place to live. If I was a Thai reading all these rants and raves I'd be somewhat amused and think to myself is Thailand really that bad that the falangs are not happy here .. but then why do they stay here ? Lets be a bit more positive in general about the LOS.

I totally agree with you! They must be frustrated somehow. wai.gif
  7. 30 years ago the Vietnamese imported rice for their own domestic consumption. 30 years on they overrun the Thais because a) they got their act together and cool.png the government does not screw around with water management by the ignorant agriculture ministry and is, by all standards, considerably less corrupt. In 30 years Thailand will be behind Myanmar and Philippines combined but this is no longer my problem then.....

    What a load of bullshit!!!
