The trees in the picture aren't pollarded, they're butchered.

Zoom in and look at the poor quality of the cuts.  A problem with the tree on the right is that they left one leader higher than the rest. It will assert apical dominance over the rest of the tree and the growth won't be even.

Pruning hard can stimulate "breaks" in plants with adventitious buds, resulting in increased "bushiness" and new branches.  When done properly it is good practice for many plants.

... yep, the only non-butcher in the hood would be me cause I own a pruning saw amongst others.

Everybody else seems to just be hacking away with their rather heavy truck-spring machetes ...

... true, dry af up here, 50% tops and down to 37% when hottest.

Minimal to no mozzies as well, quite unusual for this time oty.

A good 38⁰ in da crib though, just as outside right now where it reached 41⁰ earlier today.

I'm fine with a fan but do indeed prefer AC for nights rest these days ...

  3. Ukraine War: Using drugs to combat war trauma

In Ukraine, the war is leading to a rethinking of psychotherapy: illegal substances such as ecstasy or so-called psychedelics are intended to provide support.

USA: ... But the lobby for the use of drugs in psychotherapy is growing, especially in the USA. The supporters have a powerful ally: the organizations of war veterans of the US armed forces. The U.S. government's Department of Veterans Affairs also supports the use of MDMA in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In fact, experts expect such a therapy to receive approval for the first time in 2024.

Also far from just a 'recreational use' problem alone that stuff, Japan for example had a massive amphetamine crisis stretching long after WWII during which it was used freely - as it was in plenty other countries btw. - and at that time the surplus war stockpiles hit the market ...

    Let’s have the professional opinion.

A group of psychiatrists and mental illness experts have written a book titled the Dangerous Case of Donald Trump arguing that President Donald Trump may be dealing with a dangerous mental illness.

... yep, nuttier than a squirrel's turd, no need for much expertise to reach that assessment, but here's the book:

I was curious about that Mother Gorilla strain I tried and so I started digging a bit more into it. The seller states it has 23% THC. It also states it was grown with Royal Queen Seeds.

So I went onto the Royal Queen Seeds website and they say it can have THC up to 30%.

Then I looked up the strain on Leafy.com and they are saying it's an 18% THC strain, which I take to be a better and unbiased source of info on strains.

Based on my own experience trying it though, if I had to guess, I would say it's probably somewhere between 10%-20%. Let's call it 15%.

I wonder though if the THC level a grower ends up with has a lot to do with their own skills as a grower. Meaning, I wonder if one grower might get 30% and another grower only 15% out of the same exact seeds?

... yes, absolutely, experience matters as it will positively affect other factors pointed out by others ...

Been growing my own stuff here on & off for 20yrs plus and you would be surprised how good local stuff can be even if grown from seeds outta some rather unimpressive brickweed IF taken care properly (*) both while been grown as well as cured. (**)

Personally I prefer what's left of the local landraces & grown under da sun, maybe an early own cross - as far as 'bouquet' goes, not necessarily strenght of course.

(*) now, the 'take care properly' part covers a wide area here, just for example there where seasons with way smaller but also much better potted outdoor plants compared to the ones grown directly in the ground just because I was able to get them under a roof during heavy repeated thunderstorms/rain avoiding damage and mold, possibly using a fan when chicas were in advanced bloom already ... etc. ...

(**) ... the curing part seems to be absent entirely here most of the time IMHO ...

  7. ... yep, what I'm drawing outta my bong is definitively healthier, lol.

Nah, seriously ... where was I ... yeah, just seen an early (!) forecast with 40 resp. 60% probability for rain for next Tue and Wed for up north, let's hope so, also with regard to temperature ...

However, he estimated that the economic gains could increase to tens of billions of baht if the law on cannabis control is passed.

... huh? Increase from what? From now a.k.a. from the current situation ...? Really, how so??

That 'logic' is kinda weird AF to say the very least - but therefore also fits the bigger picture just perfectly, lol ...
