  1. Yes... I divorced my wife at the Khet or district office with just an officer, Custody of child; if agreed by both parties to whom the child goes is also finished at the same time with the same officer... In the end they all agree to give to the father or the foreigner... as they do not want any responsibility of custody and financial obligations... That is women & Thailand for you...

  2. Before they ---the concerned authorities say or do anything ---- they should first solve the "Case of the Dead Saudi Diplomat" which was from the 80s!!!

All the suspects are dead--- most probably killed by the police themselves!!! Someone wrote here a comment on corruption, well look no further than this case... never has been solved, never will be solved due to the fact they themselves were involved!!! So this is it!!! If a case like this being pushed by the Saudi Arabian royal family gets no results for over 30 years how will a case like this be resolved????

  3. As usual for crimes that are truly despicable and violent the Thais will always blame all others except themselves! One thing the Thai government should understand; we are in the time of massive globalization and instant information/social media age. Though the globalization it is not beneficial to the less well off and the poor, the truth is whenever an incident good or bad occurs the resident country/organization/authorities must always take full responsibility and not blame others/organization/governments. As for crimes like this it is always the Burmese/Myanmar, Cambodians and/or Laotians or the separatists from the south that are blamed. Instead of being isolationists they should be internationalists... own up and clear the problems!!!

  4. There are numerous critical reasons for change but the main one is for their survival. Meaning if their system of oppression for wealth in the long run all end up as Marcos, Allende, Mubarak and the rest of the global dictators, being tried and imprisoned. Than Shwe was a truly clever person he found out even the previous dictator Gen. Ne Win by his (Than Shwe) doing had a pauper's funeral. His daughter, 3 grandsons were all imprisoned by him. So the only way out was to give some form of democracy to the people in order to take the heat off him. And that was what he did. Gave a incomplete democracy which the next government should occupied for amendments, revisions and etc. But he did form a special committee which would be able to take back power should the sovereignty & security of Myanmar was threatened, that committee was chaired by the Myanmar military general six of them.

One crucial question remaining was "How much did they take of the country's wealth?" In all honesty no one will really know the correct answer but slowly slowly as time goes by it is starting to emerge. http://www.irrawaddy.org/burma/military-leases-seized-ngapali-beach-land-hotel-developers.html

They took all the best land/real estate!... Anyone, company, corporation... who now wishes to lease land find that they are in the now dealing with the old/previous regime.

So the main reason was for survival but they took the best from the country ... "LAND" which no money, ideas can never ever create or recreate!
