My home town in the UK along the Thames just spent millions on flooding prevention to protect about 40 homes of millionaires that rest on a flood plain. I'd vote tell them to just move ! YOu want to live by the river, you takes your chances with it !

Similar when I lived in NW Florida panhandle.  People would build beach front houses on the barrier island then complain because their houses got destroyed during a hurricane....most without insurance because no insurance company would cover them.

Agree.  I was going to post something similar to you post but you nailed it.  It's unfortunate their long term goal is "next payday" with no forward thinking about getting old without that trait that made them money.  But honestly, that is true with just about every country and society.

Is your flight to Khon Kaen on the same itinerary?  If so, you should plenty of time since you will connecting to your next flight.  If not, you may be cutting it close since you will have to clear immigrations, customs, baggage claim, then go to the airline check in counter, go through security, then to your gate.

The old saying "Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time" is appropriate.  As for the WNBA player, all I can say is "karma's a bitch".  She was very well known for her protest against the US and routinely didn't show respect for the US National Anthem. She used her notoriety and fame to not support and defend her own country but now begs her country to help her.  However, I don't think a person of little political value would be facing the same charges but she chose this path so let her pay the consequences.....karma's a bitch.
